The interesting thing is that they can be correct when they guess it. Then during play test it just doesn't pan out and a few abilities are replaced, prompting a rename. I would assume they try out 5+ concepts they believe in per new job released. There are (at least) two different approaches to new classes/heros etc. Try out concepts and find a look/name that suits it. Start with the name/look and shoehorn in concepts and tweak them until they fit and work. If FF works on the first concept method it is very hard to guess things. If it is the second style it is much easier. | ||

I get the skepticism but you can't deny it would be appropriate given the theme, We got a new site for the new patch a few days ago: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/endwalker/patch_6_5 I really hope they find a place for Zero going forward. I'm guessing Viper connecting his 2 swords to form Twinblades will very much be a power stance move and a big DPS window, kinda like Reaper's Enshroud. I'm wondering if Viper will have any kind of DoTs. Thematically, going by the name alone it would fit, but judging by the design team's philosophy with other jobs, they'll want to avoid DoTs rather than add more of them. | ||
