He has to win sometime… Would he pretty hyped if it was now Oof for Classic he’s looked pretty damn good so far but I don’t see him taking out Serral. Still, another two bites of the cherry for him after his solid first day Classic honestly looked like a better player today than Serral. Of course, after Serral gets a night of sleep and is better adjusted to the studio I doubt Classic will win. Cure is a rough draw for Clem, I don't really expect Clem to make it to the playoffs at this rate (unless he's really lucky with his last two opponents.) I guess the difference is that’s the worst I’ve seen Serral in a while and he pulled off a 2-0 ultimately. That’s the best I’ve seen Classic in a while and he’s still in the same spot. When did he pull off a 2-0? He won 2-1 against both Creator and herO

Among them Gumiho might be the most dissapointing case as he might have a real shot at having a deep run. And I think most players care about this more than ESL tournament other than the world championship because of the prize pool. Just think of this as a continuation of WESG pretty much.
All the mentioned with the exception of Scarlett were in this tournament and got eliminated in the qualifier... Gamers Without Borders/2023/EPT Gamers Without Borders/2023/KR
A bit of a pity that returnees had no chance to have a stake in this

Probably meant 2:0 in matches
I did just catch glimpses here and there while working. Was the ping situation that bad?

Step 1: Be happy about invitational only tournaments because who else is missing anyways? All the top players are here.!
Step 2: Complain about lack of new players.

Step 2: Complain about lack of new players. No point in acting like we'd get an influx of new players if all tournaments had open qualifiers. Also, as already mentioned, "invites" were based on IEM Katowice results, so they weren't really invites any more than Blizzcon spots were determined by "invites"

Note: Rachel is wearing a skirt and showing legs in Saudi Arabia (Melania Trump did this some years ago, too). Also wearing her hair open, Zombie, too.

Its not just about the theoretical new blood, it also sucks for people that ranks low-very low in tournaments, if they dont have big opportunities its hard to be motivated to practice in general.
Sure, but both blizzcon and Kato were/are the "end" of a year of open qualifier tournaments.

Welp. Cure didn't waste any time taking care of business with Clem.

I mean, if the Saudis are gonna try to sportswash their way to a good image they'd better not be obvious about it and allow such things lol

HM, Clem, Spirit and Oliveira in the bottom 5, Foreign terran are back.
Edit: Is herO still even/ahead here?

No. When Dark is able to control his Zerg casters as well as he does, I don't think going for a Protoss deathball of any kind is going to work on him.

It started around the same time Dark/Hero did. But it was just over that fast.

Sure, but both blizzcon and Kato were/are the "end" of a year of open qualifier tournaments. Returnees like Stats and Inno are already unlikely to make Katowice, too much of a deficit in points to recover while they’re getting back into shape.
I don’t think Inno even tried to qualify for Code S last time out, perhaps the (small) chance of getting back into shape and getting into the big money tournament if there’s a few shots for wildcard qualifiers.
I don’t mind the circuit into WC model, it rewards excellence over the year, and plenty of regular sporting champs use it.
Thing is if you have another big prestige WC pretender, using the same model seems odd. Especially given it is mostly populated by EPT points, but isn’t part of that circuit or awards any.
When we both had Blizzcon/Katowice running side by side you had a balance of a circuit culmination with the former, and open qualifier and the possibility of players coming in off hot streaks.
Bear in mind it’s a tournament which has a bigger prize pool for a nostalgic showmatch than GSL, but no military returnees have any way to qualify for it.
It’s fun, production values are great but stuff like this is why I don’t think it’s really good to the scene because it does nothing to tackle any of the actual issues in the scene.
Also the ping thing is silly

Uff miles ahead again and another terrible call by Creator...
