It was outsourced so not really made by Blizzard.

lol talking about colors. If the gameplay, loot and abilities suck, I couldn't care less about colors...

speaking of abilities i hope they go with d2's idea of having abilities that look and usually were completely useless until you get to higher levels. i think the underrated part about d1 and d2 that made the game feel darker/scarier was just how shit your characters were before they got leveled and geared. having to jab at people as amazon for the first few levels just makes you feel pathetic, which is what the actual heroes should feel in the world of diablo. in d3 your characters seem supernatural from very early on

Reforged graphics were outsourced to Lemon Sky Studios: https://www.lemonskystudios.com/projects/warcraft-3-reforged/

And I initially didn't like wc3BC because wc2 was my favorite game and wc3's style was too cartoony for me as well. Blizz has been doing one piece proportions basically ever since they started making 3D-games.
WC3 unlike D3 was in everything else more than a worthy successor though.

I think they were led to this style (cartoony 3D) for war3 or wow due to how well it works with optimization (looks good with low polygon count) which blizzard was always super careful about (all their games typically ran really well on a super wide range of hardware).

That might very well be and in hindsight I think it works well for wc3 and WoW. But in difference to wc2 d2 actually had some horror elements like light radius and told it's story from the point of view of someone who was entirely helpless in the massive events he was part of, so horror was part of the gameplay as well as the story.

What's worth noting here is that Warcraft and Diablo were made by basically different companies.
Guys behind Warcraft were the original Blizzard, however Diablo/Diablo 2 were made by Blizzard North, which was a separate company initially (Condor), which was bought by Blizzard and renamed to Blizzard North.
Blizzard and Blizzard North had very different styles and did not fully agree in many aspects of development.
You can clearly see that Diablo 3 was not made by Blizzard North, but by the original Blizzard, the Warcraft guys.
In fact Blizzard North started working on Diablo 3, but the project was discontinued and restarted by Blizzard Entertainment later after most of Blizzard North people left the company.
I miss Blizzard North. Sometimes I wonder how Diablo 3 would look like if they were allowed to follow their vision and finish the game.

Pretty sure Blizzard North was also working on Diablo 3, they just couldnt get shit done. Oh, and "Blizzard North" didnt leave, Morhaime just killed the studio.

"Blizzard North" didnt leave
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flagship_Studios#cite_note-2 "Flagship Studios was formed following the resignation en masse of Blizzard North management following a dispute with Blizzard Entertainment parent company Vivendi regarding the potential fate of the company, development team, and titles, which were in doubt at that time."
Don't think that's everyone from Blizzard North but also some of Flagship Studios went on to make Torchlight after.

He was sucking up to Vivendi, wanted to make them happy and not willing to give Blizzard North the "Creative Time" they needed

How do you know? Anyway it seems they also left.

If D4 is delayed cause they need to get rid of the scum(I’m assuming that’s the reason for departure) in the company then so be it.

I would go even further and say that if they don't convincingly show that they got rid of the scum, i am not that interested in D4.

If only about 6 people end up leaving Blizzard over a company-wide culture-borne sexual harassment scandal in a company of over 9,000 employees, and they make no other efforts to change and make no overt efforts to extend good will and make things right for all the pain they've caused, then no, I'm not particularly interested either. I've also gotten the vibe from day 1 that Diablo 4 has been little more than a rudderless ship trying to find its place, so I was on the fence to begin with. Easy fence to hop off of.

And Luis Barriga, which is probably even worse for the game since he was game director
