I dunno, curious about other people's thoughts, especially given the reviews I've seen. As far as story and characters go I think I liked it even less than Dragon's Dogma (though I think I rate that higher than most people because I just played the game and didn't really enjoy the plot nearly as much as others seemed to). Netflix's anime division really seems to think that gore is all it takes to make a compelling "adult" anime... Edit: Also, I thought it might be my crappy Wifi or Netflix, but this has horrible awful no good very bad framerates to the point where I wasn't sure if it was intentional or not. Especially noticeable in fight scenes.

+ Show Spoiler + It is likely that Takano is dead or at least out of the picture. This can be inferred from Yamainu pulling out from Irie Clinic. Also, from the lack of the gas incident at the end.Takano's motive is to prove her dad's theory that Rika is the queen carrier and to do this at the end of each arc she pulls the trigger on plan 34 and cause the Great Hinamizawa Disaster once Rika is dead. But in this arc, we have Rika is dead and there is no Great HInamizawa Disaster. Thus, we can safely say, Takano is not involved in the murders. This means that we have a whole new mystery to solve. Now as to what happened to Tomitake, it's hard to say. Seeing that he disappeared with Takano I can see a couple possibilities: 1. Rika told Tomitake about Takano's plans, and convinced her to elope together. LOL. 2. Rika told Tomitake about Takano's plans, and he killed or imprisoned Takano making them both disappear as he explains his actions to his superiors. 3. A third party found out about Takano's plans and made her disappear just as she was with Tomitake. For Rena's death, we can pretty much infer that Keiichi had L5 syndrome and was hallucinating when he got stabbed by Rena. Instead, he killed Rena after being attacked. Now, the real question is what happened to Rika and Satoko? This one, I think we don't really have enough info at this point in time. So far all we know is that Rika and Satoko was stabbed in the neck multiple times by the same kitchen knife and were found dead a day after Rena and Keiichi incident. Note, that all it says is same kitchen knife, it doesn't say the same kitchen knife that Rena used. Which is where I think people are getting confused relating it to Rena and Keiichi's fight. It's hard to make any guesses at this point, but I find it unlikely that Rika would just stab Satoko for no reason. Based on the manga, we can infer that Rika and Satoko were stabbed by someone else.

Kami-tachi ni Hirowareta Otoko is also a nice relaxing watch. It's true that our MC is OP, but you get a sense of peace watching it. I have yet to try Jujutsu Kaisen, but it's highly rated it seems. There's also that other 100-man isekai, Kimi to Boku and Noblesse which are all ok (Noblesse I have yet to watch, but the source is great). Also, if anyone is looking for a survival/adventure/mystery anime, you should give Mujin Wakusei Survive a try. It's a fun watch though some arcs feel a bit too long and there are certain situations that felt prolonged. There is also some plot convenience here and there, but it's still pretty decent imo. I just thought the animation wasn't worth it, since the animation was never as good as seasonal stuff. But over quarantine Ive watched Naruto, Bleach, and HunterXHunter. I'm glad I did. I did myself a disservice by ignoring those anime for so long. Naruto did a great job at character drama. Every character had an awesome sad backstory. Only real problem with Naruto was the power scaling got ridiculous. Like, its funny because in the original series they spent so much time talking about the inner workings of the biology of chakra, but with with Orochimaru and the Akatsuki it's all fucked. I don't want to moan about it all day, but it gets silly. Bleach I'm still working through, just finished Soul Society arc.I'll have more thoughts on it later I think. lots of cool badass moments. Not sure if I see the depth yet. Hunter x Hunter.... man this show hit me HARD. I was expecting a wholesome shonen anime, but its actually probably the deepest anime I've watched. Even the innocent parts that I wrote off at the beginning have a lot of depth once something clicks about the main character you see in the notorious Chimera ant arc. And the chimera ant arc.....oh lord. That is by far the best arc I've ever seen. 10/10 masterpiece. It made me feel an entire spectrum of emotions, all the characters have so much depth and their relationships are incredibly intricate. And I know Hunter X Hunter wasn't a seasonal anime, but what was most impressive about it, is that the animation is ALWAYS good. And that's kinda baffling considering there's like 140+ episodes. I mentioned that rule I had for many years, the bridge too far for me is still One Piece, because the animation never look good My understanding is that the most recent arc they've finally increased the animation budget, so that's good. However, I am starting to read One Piece along with Amazing-Spiderman. I live in America so I expect to come out of quarantine with both those read under my belt. We don't talk about Naruto here ... ever! But seriously, Naruto until the fillers started was great. I stopped watching it somewhere after quarter of Shippuden aired and started reading the manga. Never went back because there were way too many fillers. I'm glad you enjoyed it though and yes, power scaling was really bad in the latter half of the show. HxH was great and I personally enjoyed the Chimera ant arc a lot. Felt like it was one of the best parts of the show although I believe that wasn't the common sentiment among the fans, but I could be wrong. Not sure we'll get any more HxH anytime soon. IMO, while its true that an anime should have good animation, the story and characters can carry an anime really hard. Case in point is Black Clover. There have been episodes where the CGI or animation was really terrible, but overall, it's such a fun relaxing watch and the story is interesting enough. If you are willing to overlook animation (Black Clover's animation varies wildly at times), I say you give Black Clover a try. I can link you a few videos though spoilers would be a concern in that case ^^

That said, I'm liking it so far. It's a good fantasy shounen with fun characters, even if not particularly amazing story or animation.

On the surface, it initially feels like fairly by the numbers shounen, and I could pick out elements that remind me of a mishmash of Demon Slayer, Naruto, and Mob Psycho. I can compare it to the Demon Slayer adaptation in that the anime so very much elevated by the quality of its direction and animation, though I think Jujutsu Kaisen has better dialogue and characters than Demon Slayer. The show can be absolutely brutal and creepy when it gets serious, but it's balanced out by the humor of well-executed lighter parts of the story that are carried by the charm and chemistry of the characters. Also, the OP and ED are absolute bangers and among my favorite of the season.

Fire Force Pretty cool story and characters. Animation is brilliant, the detailed backgrounds look like from a big budget movie and not a series and the music is really good. I was truly amazed by the quality of this show. Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Remake of the old show. I'm only halfway through it and it's already 10/10 (and only getting better). Absolutely amazing. Can't wait to get to the 2202 after that.

No complaints, just good fun with a healthy does of nostalgia.

However, the world building is intriguing and the fights are fun, and David Productions generally did a great job with this adaptation. Episode 20 + Show Spoiler + was the epitome of this lol. First Tamaki's clothes fall off, then some guys gets his chest ripped open, Juggernaut does his not get hit by attacks thing, then someone's head gets sliced off.

Re: Zero, good but I wanna wait until the second cour ends before I really say much about it. It ends right when it is REALLY getting interesting so that was kind of a bummer. Rent A Girlfriend, much better than the premise would lead you to think. Chizuru has to be one of my favorite anime girls of all time now. I think this has been confirmed for a season 2, because I'd hate for this to be another manga bait season, I'd actually like to see more of how this story pans out. After School Dice Club: Not normally into the whole CGDCT genre, but I am a big fan of board games and thus I easily fell into this anime and enjoyed it thoroughly. When they do go to the games I really enjoyed watching the girls learn and play and the characters themselves, while not the best characters I've ever met are nonetheless enjoyable to watch their dynamics with each other. Misfit of Demon Academy: Enjoyed the heck out of this. For a one season burner this was satisfying from start to finish. Unlike most of these other Demon Lord style series this one was obviously just meant to be a quick 1 and done season and I don't have to sit here waiting to see how the rest of the story develops, or if the series will ever get a second season. I've also come to really embrace the idea that I am just a binge watcher. I get so much more enjoyment out of shows binging them in a few days than having to wait week to week for another episode. I almost skipped Summer entirely this year and just worked on my back log only to watch the whole seasons in a binge and I think I enjoyed each series much more as a result.
