I find that it's pretty much a watered down version of Kino, but with a cute witch as the main lead. Depends on your taste I guess.
Trailer has some scenes from both the 12/5 Coup and the Battle of Sadogashima, and the CGI doesn't look that bad! I'm still mildly concerned they still haven't shown any scenes with the characters yet, though...

Recently, read Oretsuba. Story is about 3 different people living around Yanigahara: Haneda Takashi, Chitose Shuusuke, and Narita Hayato. Haneda Takashi is an introvert student who likes games and occasionally gets summoned to Gretagard as Holy Knight Hawk Cyanblue. Chitose Shuusuke is an extrovert who works multiple part time with the main one being as a writer for a magazine doing reviews of novels, and as a server in a restaurant. Narita Hayato is a hard-boiled person who works odd part time job as a "Jack of all Trades" at night. He also walks around randomly and gets involved with various delinquent groups.
Storywise, it's a fairly average charagame outside of the twist. This is similar to Ever17 where the story revolves around that one twist that makes everything click. The main thing that really makes this a "kamige" is the writing and the character interactions. Each character speaks way differently from each other, and the best part is really when + Show Spoiler +
all the personalities became one, Haneda's speech become a mix of all of them, but you can still pick out which personality is saying which. I think was really awesome from the writer.
I didn't like the expansion R. You can really tell it was written by a different author as the extra routes in it just felt out of place in the story. I was really excited about reading the Koudain route, but got disappointed it wasn't as good as the main routes.
Oretsuba is translated now? I remember a while back I watched the anime, which was good enough and looked into the VN, but it wasn't translated at the time
You can check if there are translation projects in vndb. If it's not there, chances are, there are no translations project for it.
Currently reading Kizuato. I heard it's a classic which many other writers took inspiration from. Higurashi and Tsukihime in particular. Actually, the Tohno family is almost a carbon copy of the Kashiwagi family, lol. Tsukihime spoiling me on the plot twists to come.
So, for the longest time, I had this rule. I wouldn't ever watch a shone anime with like those countless episodes. I just thought the animation wasn't worth it, since the animation was never as good as seasonal stuff. But over quarantine Ive watched Naruto, Bleach, and HunterXHunter. I'm glad I did. I did myself a disservice by ignoring those anime for so long. Naruto did a great job at character drama. Every character had an awesome sad backstory. Only real problem with Naruto was the power scaling got ridiculous. Like, its funny because in the original series they spent so much time talking about the inner workings of the biology of chakra, but with with Orochimaru and the Akatsuki it's all fucked. I don't want to moan about it all day, but it gets silly.
Bleach I'm still working through, just finished Soul Society arc.I'll have more thoughts on it later I think. lots of cool badass moments. Not sure if I see the depth yet.
Hunter x Hunter.... man this show hit me HARD. I was expecting a wholesome shonen anime, but its actually probably the deepest anime I've watched. Even the innocent parts that I wrote off at the beginning have a lot of depth once something clicks about the main character you see in the notorious Chimera ant arc. And the chimera ant arc.....oh lord. That is by far the best arc I've ever seen. 10/10 masterpiece. It made me feel an entire spectrum of emotions, all the characters have so much depth and their relationships are incredibly intricate. And I know Hunter X Hunter wasn't a seasonal anime, but what was most impressive about it, is that the animation is ALWAYS good. And that's kinda baffling considering there's like 140+ episodes.
I mentioned that rule I had for many years, the bridge too far for me is still One Piece, because the animation never look good My understanding is that the most recent arc they've finally increased the animation budget, so that's good. However, I am starting to read One Piece along with Amazing-Spiderman. I live in America so I expect to come out of quarantine with both those read under my belt.
I'm a huge One Piece fan, and I did start One Piece with the anime, but I'd highly suggest not going that route anymore. Pacing is a constant issue with Shounen manga adaptions, and One Piece's anime becomes the worst of them, in terms of pacing. It just gets slower and slower with the pacing, to the point where you have like 1 episode covering LESS than 1 chapter of content. Meanwhile, the manga is fantastic.

Yeah really looking forward to getting deeper in the manga. After experiencing Bleach and Naruto, I’d really love a manga that actually cared about worldbuilding, lol. Perhaps in 2021-22 I’ll get to hang out with the cool kids in the one piece manga thread.
It's not really worth watching those anime anymore, unless you are looking to simply use up your time. Excepting One Piece, no-one will be watching and discussing those anime anymore as they are finished, and if you want to engage in the story it is so much faster to consume the manga instead. There's plenty of manga that engages in world building, but you probably would not find it consistently in these types of shounen. HunterxHunter doesn't have good worldbuilding; it has good world building for a shounen. Remember, they are shounen, they are marketed for young males. What HxH does well is not world building but characterisation such as not simply treating the "bad guys" like cookie cutter evil people who act evil for the sake for acting evil but have emotions and motivations of their own.
So, what do people think of this season? I don't find myself looking forward to watching any except Sleepy Princess aka Maou-jou de Oyasumi, which has a rather novel concept and a well done execution. Recommend me something guys.

I disagree as to Naruto. I've found myself able to have lots of discussions with friends during my watchhrough. And yea, agreed HxH worldbuilding isnt the greatest, but the depth of characters, their philosophies and interactions is what makes it the best. The fact that I fell in love with a character I DESPISED more than anything and HATED a character I kinda enjoyed at the end of the show is a testament to how good it does characters.
Togashi is much better are writing exciting scenarios and compelling characters, than he is at world building. YYH, for example, is a great anime/manga, but world building in it is just made up as it goes on, and doesn't really work that well if you take a step back and look at it from afar. But given his strengths in storytelling, its easily forgivable.
To preface again that I am a huge One Piece fan so I may be biased, but the world building in One Piece is in a class all of its own. None of the other long-running shounen manga have a world that is as well developed and internally consistent as One Piece.

Yeah, thats why im really excited to get my teeth into one piece. Naruto and Bleach's worldbuilding leave MUCH to be desired. In the soul society, like, it feels like Kubo forget we're in an afterlife and these people are dead? Like it kinda feels like an isekai because of how often they don't talk about the fact they're dead, or why the afterlife is like what it is. If you didn't have the rare pre-death flashback its completely negligible.
I digress, I watched Supereyepatchwolf's video on why you should read one piece, and the stuff he talks about is super impressive. you can track their voyage on the map, there is so much details in the panels on how each island's entire society works, so many characters, geopolitical stuff happen off the page while other stuff is happening so it feels like a living, breathing world, etc. I'm only 40 odd chapters in though.

I can vouch for Jujutsu Kaisen being legit. I saw it being hyped up on here and elsewhere, so I binged the episodes out so far a few days ago. The animation is great. The dialogue and chemistry between characters is entertaining. It's a good candidate for AotS, even though this is a weak season so far.
The Day I Became a God could also be a potentially decent recommendation for being another Jun Maeda anime. It leans very heavily on slice-of-life and humor for these first episodes so far. It remains to be seen if and how they'll do the emotional gut punches later.
Akudama Drive is a also a fun, stylish but kinda shallow watch. It has a gorgeous cyberpunk setting and cool action, and the plot is a heist story.
My friend also recommends Tonikaku as something super comfy, but I haven't started that yet.

i might be the only person in this community who watch it, but my guilty pleasure for this season is "Iwa-Kakeru! Climbing Girls" ^^ it has nothing special, but i think its really relaxing. Beside that i dont watch anything of this season yet, nothing got me hooked that's why i'm watching "Great Pretender" atm, which i would highly recommend
Akudama Drive is a nice change so I'll rec that just for the visuals as well. Great Pretender came out on Amazon but they slowly released the anime in chunks. It's a really, really good anime and I think everyone should watch it.
