Looking back, they could have told Vettel to slow down a hair when they knew Leclerc will be behind after the pit stop, in the same way they did to Bottas, getting them to switch on track after the pit stop doesn't look good to the fans so not advisable. All the teams underestimated the power of the undercut this race, if Hamilton pitted at same time as Vettel, Leclerc would come out 3rd. I see Ferrari trying to defend the undercut from Max and try undercutting Hamilton, so there's more for him to gain than Charles... But because Leclerc was 3 seconds ahead of Vettel, he had like 2 laps of clear air he could have pitted before Vettel as well... Honestly just poor executions of Leclerc's strategy, but saying they are favoring Vettel instead of Leclerc is blasphemy. At least Vettel drove well today, being able to pass those 4 cars faster than Leclerc, and setting those few fastest laps as well. So as much as I enjoy Vettel making mistakes and watching him deteriorate, and being a little bit bitter about Leclerc not winning, reasonably well deserved. And you know what, who knows if Hamilton's strategy was that bad if we didn't have those 3 safety cars. Ferrari tires might've really dropped off. Enjoyable strategic race, and very nice to have the top 3 teams on such even footing.

Leclerc himself seems a lot more cooled off and okay about what happened now that he's had it explained to him. I'm more amazed at how badly Mercedes bottled their strategy. Like it wasn't even just an iffy strategy, it was straight up bad. They could have won the race easily had they not been so conservative. It seems like they've been a lot of bad calls lately. Any time things go other than almost exactly to plan they seem to fall apart now. I do also wonder if Bottas is going to be overtaken in the championship by Leclerc or Verstappen. Both are not far behind (the two are tied right now) and Bottas typically has a weaker second half of the season. Bottas looked alright this race but he hasn't been on the level of Hamilton, Leclerc, or Verstappen for several races now. If it wasn't for Mercedes basically being unbeatable for the first 6 races, Bottas would probably be in 4th or 5th right now.

Hearing all the news about Hulkenberg is getting rather sad. I hope he ends up at a team (apparently Williams is basically his only option, and they are looking at taking Latifi because of money reasons). I wanted Ocon back but I don't know if I would want that at the expense of Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg is also too good to be on the sidelines, especially after his performances recently and the fact that he has been keeping up pretty well with Ricciardo. Even Renault says had they known Hulkenberg would have problems finding a seat they would have thought more about re-signing him. I think the expectation was Hulkenberg would go to Haas. I'm still mystified as to why Haas chose to keep Grosjean over signing Hulkenberg. Grosjean's been absolutely horrid this year after being just as bad last year. He's had 6 retirements, many of which were his own doing, and has compromised his own race several times when he hasn't retired (and ruined Magnussen's race as well to boot on multiple occasions). Yes Grosjean helped Haas figure out their correlation problem, but he is a big factor in why the team is near the bottom of the standings right now.

"Hulk's strength is in always creating a perfect turn curve, not many drivers can do that. His telemetry is like from a textbook on race driving" Annoyingly the infographics are wrong throughout. It ends on +0.4, but Hamilton was onky 0.27 slower. But it's clear that the Ferrari is much faster in straight line speed atm. Merc doesn't seem to be running more wing either, because while they're catching in the slow speed corners, they're not in the mid speed ones where the wing should come most into play.

And at the end Hamilton will beat them both with superior strategy. The softs are already slower than the mediums. And the FIAT broke again.
