But I agree that the whole Russia investigation should be discussed once it completes. The problem is there is an active effort preempt the IG’s report through discrediting the FBI. And the whole endless leaks about Trump looking to fire Mueller. It's not that everyone will be fired when the IG report comes out. Everyone already has been fired. The only senior guy left is Bill Priestap, whom some believe has been ratting out Comey, McCabe, Strzok, et al. We can take that implying wrong doing. Though considering Trump fired Comey to end the Russian investigation, I don’t think that is 100% the case.
Another thing to consider is that the FBI has been used to investigate political opponents twice in short succession. First with Clinton and now Trump. In both case, the members of the party that controls congress are less than happy with the first investigation. Now, they can claim bias in the FBI, but that is a claim that greatly benefits them and criminal charges against a political opponent(Clinton) would also benefit the Republicans.
This is the current problem, the party bringing the claims against the FBI has reaped a windfall of political power based on the FBIs previous work and now some of them are trying to undercut the FBI in a clear effort to support the president.

When GH, LL and xDaunt all agree on something Russia related, you can be 100% sure they are right. Orrrrrrr....

This is pathetic.
If you want to lump me in with xDaunt&LL on this you could at least have the decency to actually address the specific criticism I made of what you posted.

The notion that Comey needed to be "ratted out" for something and then was fired is pretty silly. And there's no evidence to suggest the others improperly conducted the Russia investigation.
The FBI investigation of Trump and his campaign, of course, continues.

No such transactions have been surfaced on the Russia/Trump story. All we have are some contacts and a highly questionable dossier. In the history of the world, has anybody tried so hard to end/slow down/discredit an investigation which would prove their innocence?
The idea that there is literally nothing to hide doesn't pass the eye test.

Whoa there. Did you miss the part where members of the FBI hold political beliefs? The FBI, known for having extremely relaxed protocols regarding professionalism and procedure, is exactly the kind of place where people will conduct investigations based on their voting preference. Everyone basically just looks for criminals of opposing political beliefs.
Also important to point out the average education level of an FBI agent. Pretttty low! These are not the kinds of people you can expect to use any amount of critical thinking or discipline. It's just not how the FBI operates. It is the reason they basically never convict anyone.
|
I just want to point out it is straight up illegal for the FBI/Justice/any Government agency to ask about someone political affiliation during the hiring process. It is assumed that anyone applying for the job will avoid letting their political opinions interfere with their work and they can be fired if they let that happen. And this topic barely came up during the what felt like decades of the Clinton investigation.

The issue stopped being about whether Trump is innocent/guilty as soon as became obvious he and all of his crew are guilty. Notice xD doesn't talk any more about whether or not he is guilty. Its just about how good he is at hiding evidence and intimidating people with his office. In the meantime, all the DNC/Uranium stuff is the most obvious distraction anyone has ever seen. Its mindblowing how determined people seem to be to carry on with a distraction tactic so utterly transparent.
Everyone can see what xDaunt is doing, everyone is saying it and has been for months, but he carries on anyway. I'll let you guys figure out what that means.

I suppose a full year of Trump being in power with an inept Democratic party makes it easy to take that route. They too mostly find the "foreign devil" approach best for explaining away anything and everything else.
Then again, you must be the only person I've ever seen for whom the DNC leaks were news, rather than just blatant confirmation of what was obvious from the outset. So I shouldn't be surprised.

Fake skepticism has historically been the best way to make other people skeptical and lose faith/hope in existing beliefs. It is the same thing Russian trolls have done on Reddit/Twitter/etc. Spreading skepticism of existing ideas is much harder than getting people to subscribe to new ideas.

Clearly there was nothing salacious in the RNC hacked files. No way Russian hackers didn't release them because it was contrary to their agenda. /s
