I don't see how this can make the tournament more competitive. soO will Choke in final no matter who he is against. Major Elazer or Gumi will get absolutly rekt by herO or Rogue or INno (of course we can still have an upset, but in bo7...) . The hottest match will be rogue vs herO and, if INno goes past TY rogue/herO vs INno. With hope it will be awesomes matches.
Tbh honnest I think the closest final would be Major vs INno, since they practiced together, but a TvZ or ZvP would be more hype.

I like the "Player A will never beat player B" comments and how the rest of the tournament can be cancelled since everyone knows what is going to happen anyways.
It's almost like Ro16 didn't happen and SpeCial and Elazer didn't make it through, while Stats and Dark fell out.

soO says he has been practicing tons of ZvT. If he's fixed that weakness he will have no problem making it to the finals.
Rogue vs herO is the hype match of the Ro8, and I would have to give a slight edge to Rogue, because he's beaten herO twice before in long series. Also, herO likes his Oracles too much and Rogue shut down Neeb's Oracles really hard.
Winner of Rogue vs herO plays Inno in the semifinals, which will be the real finals. If herO wins it will be a shitshow no matter who wins, like all his PvTs, so I'm really hoping Rogue beats herO. Rogue vs Inno will be an absolutely incredible series. The bio vs LBH games at the Super Tournament were amazing and I have to say they are dead even as long as Inno goes bio.
Whomever wins the lower bracket semifinals then wins the finals 4-0 in extremely anticlimactic fashion. Personally I'm hoping for soO vs Inno in the finals, since they have the best storylines.

This bracket could have been absolutely insane if Stats and Dark didn't fall: SSL S2 final GSL S2 final IEM Shanghai/GSL ST2 final GSL vs World final
Still Special and Elazer have shown great performances so they deserve to be there.

Its hard to predict who will get to the finals from the upper side of the bracket, since anyone can. Its also hard to predict who will get there from the bottom side of the bracket, almost anyone can, and may be TY will surprise us.
But for sure the once who'll get there from the bottom side will be the favored vs the one who get there from the upper side.

and your Blizzcon 2017 champion... soO!!!

There's a very real chance for either of the foreigners to make the finals only to get 3-0'd.

There's no chance of this happening.

GuMiho gets conscripted to military after the Ro8 so soO advances despite losing?

MajCiaL vs Elazer is a massive disappointment; them playing against each other is just cruel towards foreign fans :/.
Major 3-1 soO 3-2 herO 3-0 INnoVation 3-1

I don't think Elazer is good enough to get the finals and Special will probably choke a bit.

In all honestly. Inno in good form is better than TY, herO, soO, or Rogue. I can't see a world where he loses without choking. And I'm far from an Inno fanboy, I've been arguing against his GOAT status all year

Depends on how liberal you are with labeling a loss as "choking". He could simply play worse than herO or Rogue and lose very normally.

Which he definitely does from time to time. Innovation is an amazing player but I could see him easily losing to Rogue or herO at the very least, even without "choking". They can both compete with Innovation at his best, and anything can happen in sc2 when the players are so skilled and decisive as both Rogue and especially herO are.
