looting rng is annoying but in an 80 person free for all your expected chance to win is <2% anwyay so it's just not important.
Thing is, the game is TERRIBLY AWFUL for anything remotely approaching serious competition in the variety they are putting on here. Much better would be a more season-based invite-only ladder with say 200 players competing on a rotating basis.
Not only would that solve the tournament-centric issue of esports where many esports can't measure up to regular television's predictable broadcasts, but also it would greatly alleviate the issue of rng where somebody can just drop next to you and get luckier with guns.
It's a drastically different game to approach competitively because it's a new domain people haven't touched, as far as I'm aware. I agree that it's not great right now competitively, which is why I'm trying to think of ways to make it better. I don't think every game needs to be pushed in this esports direction but if they are going to do this, I think they can afford to add a little order to the chaos.
For your ladder system, are you suggesting they keep the same map/number of players and rotate players while playing enough games to get players to their statistical mean placement? It sounds like an awfully large amount of games to rotate around 200 people. How many games are you thinking of making those players play? Is there no championship event in that ladder? Why not try to alleviate the "gun luck" problem and come up with a better format?

Did the person hiding on the opposite side of the map make it into the top 10? For teams it seems much less viable since the other three has less fire power and eyes. Unless all 4 hide in different spots outside of the circle and hope 3 lives long.

If you are talking about the last TSM player this game, he got into top 3 alone by simply just surviving & healing. If you are talking about the Korean player Evermore who won the Solo TPP tournament, he and his team got pretty far as well. Killed decent amount of people and currently #10 in the leaderboard. Not sure whether it was Evermore or who made it.
Squad games are clearly more action packed than Solos or even TPP Duos.
e. Apparently Break just kept healing outside the circle till the end, while aimPR went closer to the circle. Basically Break was doing the exact same as Evermore did in Solos. Which is a clever tactic.

Again TSM basically has a strategic where Break just loots whole game in Georgopol while the rest of the TSM guys are in the circle & fighting. He is going to have so many meds that he can survive for ages, even if his team dies.

Watching squads at the invitational is actually decently exciting. The spectating jumps are understandable but often hard to follow.
Squads is by far my favorite mode of PUBG. Much less camping and teamwork is important, plus you're able to take positioning/movement risks because you have cover

Well, better luck next time Break. What a way to die.

Team who got 2nd in game one won the second game, while LG got 2nd. 4 point difference between them in the leaderboards. Close tournament so far.

Interviewing has been absolutely atrocious this whole event.

This round went almost as well as last round. Fat fingered out of the car while getting shot. LOL

70 alive at the 4th circle was crazy! Shit went from 0-100 real quick!

New weather, FPP rankings and a new weapon coming next week.
The Mini-14, seems like a 5.56 SKS I guess.
Will probably do less damage but have faster bullet velocity and be more accurate than the SKS I guess.
Anyway, excited about a new weapon which can be found everywhere and not another crate exclusive!

Can't wait for fog to not be displayed on lowest graphic quality, giving people an advantage.

If anyone wants to do some duos or squads with an average-quality player hit me up for some games. I've got one solo win and maybe 20-25 top 10 finishes (~100-125 games played?).
I only play FPP now though.
Craton on steam and Craton- in-game.
Look for this one:

Why do they allow mics in solo que and why are they so loud while in the plane? It's so annoying. I'm forced to turn off speakers before I jump every game. Any other fix for this? Has to be a bug too right? There seems to be no point to it?
This game is ok I suppose, quite fun, dunno about competitive/esports aspects and don't care. But honestly I don't see why it's this popular.

You can turn off voice chat in the settings if you play solo.
