I have run across this problem with my girlfriend, who does not have a history of playing games, but is interested in doing so. The problem is, if he uses her left hand with the mouse and puts her right hand on WASD, she can't reach the same key in the same way that i would do. Do left-handed gamers use other keyboard setups? Or do they just deal with it and press Shift, Ctrl etc... with the thumb while using the pinky for all the keys on the right.

However when you leave, the birthday kid also generally gives you a small gift in the form of a loot bag. Does anyone know which parts of the world does this? Fucking what? Canadians so nice they give YOU birthday gifts on THEIR birthday?

There's a similar thing in Sweden as well, where they have the kids fish for small bags of candy (that a parent attaches) with some make-do fishing rod over a blanket.

I think it's much the same nowadays although I suspect the norm might be 100 instead of 50 crowns cuz of inflation and some parents might insist on healthier food choices cuz people are fkn crazy.

it(the serving) can happen at school(in class), at work/office or in whatever social circles that persons frequents. in religious communities, one can add a religious symbol there too. the birthdaydude is reasonably required to make the gesture and not expect things(gifts) in return.

In Germany this is a pretty standard custom as well.

For Quake 3 Arena I used to play with a IJKL setup like said before, and bound my weapon choices around those keys (U,O,P, H, you get the picture). For LoL I didn't deviate from the standard, however, because I became so used to the 1,2,3,4,5,Q,W,E,R. For shooters I do prefer the mirrored setup though. It's alot less strain and annoyance to deal with if you take a little time to set it up. So if we get the the terminal life stages you're supposed to hand out euthanizing injections? :> I got a pretty stupid quesion: Could be able to assess if you're having an aneurysm of any kind? And kind of follow up: how does your aorta rupturing feel like? Do you feel blood gushing inside your thorax for example?
