You closed a bunch of those Ask ____ blogs, but the only one I understand being closed is mine. The rest help the forum at large get to know posters, and in a week or so they'll be gone, so I really can't see the harm.
I mean, why would pubbanana's (who can probably answer almost any old progaming questions) get closed, while Kennigit and Fakesteve's stay open?
If you can't make blogs about yourself, and you can't make blog about your SC performance, why the fuck is there a blog feature on a starcraft site?

You can make a blog about your sc performance.
You can make an ask me blog.
You cannot join a wave of dozens of blogs on the same topic, which bury the people that started the idea (and probably have more to contribute).
I didn't close any of them but that is my two cents.

Didnt say "everything" now did I? I did say, or imply, that you closed them on the basis of "stupid" but ignored Brood's logic while leaving open a genuinely pointless and stupid blog by zulu. Let me quote the entirety of the blog "yeah." BAM done.

woops I gave it too much credit. Let me properly quote it: "ya"
Nice. Leave that thread open cause clearly it avoids the rank of "stupid." Why? Well the only reason I can think of is the title references a moderators ego so it should be allowed to be open for silly purposes.

That thread was just one thread. This torrent of threads was a bunch of threads pushing down other topics that deserved more attention than they probably got. At least imo.

Yes, "imo"
Doesn't matter. The "wave" of blogs made them no less important. The blog section is supposed to be heavily UNmoderated. There is absolute shit threads in there constantly. Closing down an entire subject that a bunch of kids think is funny/worth their time is nit picking in a place especially absent of such moderating.
If you want to close those fine. But please close the hordes of other threads that equally pollute that section then. Either or imo.

Just because my opinion is similar to manifesto7's doesn't mean I am just posting here as a manifesto7 fanboy. Zulu's thread was one thread, whereas there were several ask me threads, I was just pointing out that several threads are a greater potential nuisance than one thread, in so far as they push down more threads further. Whatever, I guess this discussion has already gone further than it needed to anyways.

even the blog section has to have some modding in , otherwise it would be rather labeled as thrash

im actually completely with inc on this one
closing any of those blog posts seems highly inappropriate.
Beyond closing posts that show something bad, or that say something absolutely terrible, or extreme cases of spam...
I don't understand why that section would be moderated whatsoever.

Yes, god save us if we had the blog section similar to the metal genre of "thrash."
It does have moderating. Inappropriate material, advertising etc.. all things TL.net doesnt want period are gone. But the idea behind the blog is the garbage that would have been in the general forum can now go to the blog section. Those threads were garbage with a purpose as brood said.
but you should have caught on to what lemonwalrus did: this is a non issue.
(yes that means I caught on as well and wont post in here anymore yay)

Yea, ideally everyone should be able to just say whatever they want. Maybe I'm an idealist, but I like to see some effort put into threads. They should be made for others, not yourself. So when I see "I went 2-4 on ICC, more later" or "ask me some questions", I find it annoying that people are bringing zero content to the site. I suppose there isn't much harm, but it's a somewhat slippery slope, if people are allowed to post every thought that enters their mind, it's hard to separate the trash from the useful threads.
That's why I closed it. I left open the staff ones because they had many replies, and the staff have earned rights other posters haven't. It has nothing to do with stroking egos, Staff get to do things you don't. I closed GTR's because it had zero effort and few replies.

I don't understand why that section would be moderated whatsoever. Agreed, with the exception of blogs whos content is not suitable for the site in general

LEAVE BLOGS ALONE!!!!!!
How fucking dare anyone out there close blogs after all the writing people did!
Blogs lost their aunt, they went through a divorce. Blogs had two fuckin kids.
Their husband turned out to be a user, a cheater, and now Blogs are going through a custody battle. All you people care about is….. readers and not pushing other topics down.
Blogs haven't performed on stage in years. Their song is called “give me more” for a reason because all you people want is MORE! MORE-MORE, MORE: MORE!.
LEAVE BLOGS ALONE! You are lucky they were even written for you BASTARDS! LEAVE BLOGS ALONE!…..Please.
Leave Blogs alone!…right now!….I mean it.!
Anyone that has a problem with Blogs you deal with me, because Blogs is not well right now.
LEAVE BLOGS ALONE!
