Team games in WarCraft III have the potential for some funny, over the top, and straight up imbalanced things due to inter racial combos.
I have many ideas I want to try, but no one to try them with, as they take a lot of team work and co ordination. A random ally simply doesn't cut it.I'm looking for some one to try do some crazy wombo combos with. You don't have to be a WarCraft III expert (I'm not), but I want you to be good enough to pull these ideas off in real games. No pressure, though, this is just for fun, and it's ok to lose. + Show Spoiler +My RTS credentials ( ): Brood War: B+ on ICCup during the old system, A+ during the new one WarCraft III: A very long time ago, I got top 100 on 2vs2 Arranged Teams. To be honest, I got carried a bit by my superior ally. Other, inferior RTS games: I was the best Nod player for a while in C&C3. Then the best ZOCOM (the faction sucked so no one else played them) player in the expansion, along with generally being a "high level" and occasionally tournament winning player in this very easy and casual RTS. I also got top 10 on the ladder for Tiberian Sun... after it was basically a dead game. :D
Examples:
- Unholy Frenzy + Blood lust.
This Orc and Undead combo will have some insane heroes. I'm thinking Blade Master and Shadow Shaman. The Blade Master will get great attack speed from Blood lust and Unholy frenzy, and the Shadow Shaman will hex the enemy heroes. The Undead can use what ever heroes he wants. Standard Lich + Death Knight for nuking, or a Crypt Lord for the knock up in to surround. Maybe even a Pit Lord, since he has good auto attacks with cleave. An Alchemist with chemical rage may also be a good auto attack hero to use. Most importantly, the Blade Master will be a monster!
- Touch of death
This is an idea for Human and Undead.
The human player will go for a Mountain King and a Blood Mage, for the infamous banish bolt combo. (Banish makes units immune to normal attacks, but more vulnerable to magic spells). If the enemy team has an Undead, we can add a Paladin for even more nuking potential, making up for the lack of death coil against the enemy Undead.
The Undead user will go for the standard Death Coil and Frost Nova combo, but also with a Crypt Lord for Impale. Impale is a near instant stun, making it hard to react to it. This means that the enemy team can not reactively use a potion of invulnerability, as can be done to other, slower, projectiles. The Impale will lead in to an other stun, in the form of Storm bolt, while Death Coil, Frost Nova, and Banish will add damage.
The combo is:
1. Impale 2. Banish 3. Everything else.
alternatively
1. Banish. 2. Impale. 3. Everything else
This does slightly more damage, but lacks the hit confirm of the impale.
If there is no potion of invulnerability on the hero, then it's all right to start with a banish bolt, of course.
- Unkillable Demon Hunter
A Night Elf and Human combo. The Night Elf gets a Demon Hunter, and tries to get fed. Creep, snipe units, take all of the items that drop - every thing.
The Human will help the Demon Hunter out with a Paladin using Holy Light, Devotion Aura if he can get away with it, priests with heal and inner fire, as well as items like scrolls of protection and scrolls of healing.
The Night Elf himself can either use bears, for rejuvenation on the Demon Hunter, or Druids of the Talon to cyclone off large sections of the enemy army while he kills what's left. Or what ever else you can come up with! The point is that once this Demon Hunter gets level 6 and uses his ultimate spell, we will win the game. He will have too much armour and healing.
- Turtle style
We'll just expand a lot and spam towers, winning the game without ever attacking. We should definitely have one human player, because of the strong towers and zeppelin + siege engine harassment that can be done while defending.
- Surround + Tower rush
This can be done with two Human users, or with one Human and one Undead. It's basically just a rush with a Mountain King and a Dreadlord, ghouls, and footmen, supported by towers. We'll just use Sleep on hero. Once the Sleep is cancelled, we'll stun the hero again with Storm Bolt, while surrounding with footmen and ghouls. At the same time, we're building towers in their base. It can also be done with two Mountain Kings, but then we'll lack the better late game of mixed races, and the Vampiric Aura from the Dreadlord.
I have streamed Brood War, so I may be able to stream these exploits, if my computer is good enough. Anyways, if you have any other ideas, or if you are interested in doing this (with me or any one else in the thread), leave a reply. If all goes well, I'll update the thread with videos or replays of the games.

Good to see something WC3 related. I haven't played WC3 in a while and am not half good at BW either. When I did play 2v2, we sometimes used HU/UD nukefest with MK, Paladin, DK, and Lich and it was pretty fun. We would get wrecked in AT ladder if you get matched with some gosus/maphackers.

Wow, now here's a blast from the past :D I'd be up for some WC3 games - I didn't really play it too much, but those strategies sound like I could handle them.

Man, brings back the memories. Remember playing with some guy who always ended up doing a mass ghoul strat with the cryptlord + beetles. We would do some sort of mass rush to kill one players town hall ASAP.
I was decent on NA, but it has been so long im probably bad now! I especially like the ultra blademaster strat.

i used to have a really cool style with my 2v2 ally.
me (UD) him (HU)
he would choose bloodmage and go for fast expand with my help, creep to lvl 3 if possible while he feeds me so i can produce enough fiends to defend while teching.
he then proceeds to go on a harass mission with flamestrike, using invul and invis potions, staff of tele, banish and shit like that, while i stay on 1 base and creep up / tech to good ud army and getting fed to support enough fiends
he would eventually take a 3rd or do stupid shit like flamestrike into the woods to build pocket towers in there that reach the enemy base, use goblin zappers, or drop mortars in woods, basically every trick shit possible to buy time for me to get 80 supply t3 ud army with decent heros, while he eventually builds a t2 caster army with mortar to support me (usually flamestrike/blizzard)
it was so fun, we were so good at it :D
€: both, Perfi (human?) and voddy (orc?) sound kind of familiar to me oO

Haha that strat, wow. I never really played WC3 but I got lvl 26 (26!!! it was huge for me) in 2v2 with a friend of mine ... every game same strat. HU + ORC mass sniper + paladin and mass melee orc things and shaman full heal strat, just zerg rush your opponent. won like 80% of games. Yours sounds a bit more .. refined

I have millions of 2v2 cheese that were tested and work if you are interested. Was a top 1v1 player but also played thousands of 2v2 games (both seriously or just cheese).
Invisible mortars, mass batriders, earliest tower rush possible with gold feeding etc etc. I think I have strats for every combo of race :D

I'm not sure what vOddy played in WC3.

Nice; sounds interesting

I'm definitely interested

I wasn't a known top player or anything of the sort in WarCraft III. It was probably an other player with the same name.

I sent you a friend request on Skype. It's been a while
