Well against Vergo there were other complications, but sure, we haven't seen him use tact on an uncut animate object. We haven't seen him use tact often either, so I don't agree with your certainty that he can't lift people, but w/e.
I'm more interested in knowing whether the Ope Ope fruit's eternal youth operation has been used before, and on whom. I thought about Sugar, but the dates just don't work out.

That's because she's a child, dear fork. She didn't exist during the flashbacks, lol. If she did she would be the same age as law and baby 5.

Her body is a child, her mind isn't.
She apparently stopped aging after eating her fruit

More of the usual I see^^
If I'm not completely wrong, the original point was if Law could have cut his own arm off while being completely locked down by Doflamingo. Since his fruit isn't Buggy's fruit, I think Law cannot do that.
Also for the record, I'm pretty sure "shambles" is a separate ability, which only swaps things as a whole inside Law's room. Making things float and moving them in the room is a different ability. I can actually only remember one time he excessively used that ability, when he wrecked the G5 marine ship on Punk Hazard.
About Sugar, didn't Law tell us that the hobi-hobi-fruit stops her from aging and that she is as old and smart as an adult despite looking like a kid?

Ages of Donquixote Pirates
|
Oda said Sugar's real age is like 24 or something. Don't remember the exact age, but if people care enough, I'll go try to dig up the source tomorrow.

Man, that waist. Sugar is so adorbs though :3.
|
That's what I meant by the dates not matching up. Since Sugar is 22, but looks 10, she stopped ageing 12 years ago, and Law was already in possession of the fruit at that point.

Buffalo's age is surprising. He's shown as a kid with Baby 5 in the flashback, but he's actually 6 years older than her. More surprising is that Gladius is only 33. In the flashback he is clearly one of the adults, but turns out he's only 3 years above buffalo.

The difference between being 14 and 17 is pretty significant. I guess it also explains why Buffalo grew so much; he hit his growth spurt.

I know Oda tends to think all of that stuff through but I'm thinking this one was a little bit of an 'oops.'

Yeah I feel the same way Buffalo and Baby 5 seemed a lot closer in age in the flashback. Did he show those ages before or after the flashback?

The flashback was what, 15 years prior to the present? That would put Gladius at 18 back then, just 1 year younger than Zoro and Sanji pre-timeskip.

Further examples, when he saved Sanji from Doflamingo, he grabbed a log, and swapped it with Sanji. And later when Luffy and Law were getting away from Diamante, used shambles to swap himself/Luffy with a far away barrel. cutting and moving something is a different ability from swapping things Not necessarily true. The 4 moves we've seen him use I believe are (counting on the manga panda translations of course): Shambles which he uses to have 2 things switch places. Mes he uses this to take out smokers heart. It might also do other stuff but we haven't seen him use it much. Tact which he used to levitate the battleship. Counter Shock which I'm assuming is some kind of energy burst probably using the energy from the room circle and making that energy into a shock.

he also has a scan ability that he used to find and then steal the den den mushi, and a piercing-shot type ability called injection

It mentions Sugar as 22 year old, with all other ages being identical to quoted picture. But hey, I found something.
