Sad to see this thread be so vacant, so let me take it upon myself to revive it in a way!
After long speculation and then confirmation after finding his VO in the game files, Turbine just announced that the next champion will be, Blue Beetle!
Blue Beetle Champion Spotlight - Youtube
Now that we know what kind of champion he is - a ranged carry and assassin hybrid, what do y'all think of his kit? What things are you excited to try with him when he's released in the next patch?
Personally I'm excited because a lot of my MOBA experience comes from LoL, and there is no champion that has a play style like an adc/assassin. Jayce would be the closest but it seems like Blue Beetle is going to be a legitimate ADC in addition to the %health-damage-in-your-face threat.

Was wondering if there was a TL thread for this. Surprised its so dead.
Anyway...huge update this week: - Complete revamp of launcher and menu interface. (Personally I'm not a fan. Everything looks too big. >_>) - Tutorial revamp which now gives you access to a bunch of heroes for free. - 1 player vs AI single-lane map to let you test out characters. - Rerecorded soundtrack and new art. - Total rebalance of items and abilities. Absolutely gigantic list of stuff.
Link to full patchnotes (note that the changes to characters and items are actually on separate pages because the list is so massive): https://www.infinitecrisis.com/en/news/september-update-release-notes
Quick summary of character changes copy and pasted: + Show Spoiler + Power Armor per Level All roles now gain varying amounts of Power Armor per level.
Will & Will Regen Changes Will Regen now behaves like Attack Speed and is a percent multiplier of your Base Will Regen. Some roles are now better suited to build Will Regen, while others net larger gains from Max Will.
Some Champions have changed Role or Damage Type We want to be sure we are providing a strong/varied set of artifacts for each role, and to accomplish this we have focused each role on a primary damage type: Power Damage: Enforcers, Blasters, Controllers. Attack Damage: Bruisers, Assassins, Marksmen
Assassins Skill damage and damage ratios have increased. Base Attribute adjustments
Blasters Effective Health reduced. Skill damage and damage ratios have increased. Base Attribute adjustments.
Bruisers Some skills now scale on Bonus Health. Base Attribute adjustments.
Controllers Disables (Stuns, Roots, etc) no longer have their durations scale on Will. Skill Damage has increased, while skill damage ratios have decreased. Primary damage skill now scales on both Power Damage and Will. Base Attribute adjustments.
Enforcers Primary damage skill now scales on both Power Damage and Health. Base Attribute adjustments
Marksmen Effective Health increased. Base Attribute adjustments

So i started play IC again and I must say I haven't had that much fun playing a moba in a while granted I rarely play mobas (most of my time is sc2 or csgo). Also im not a big fan of the the 3lane mobas since the games last forever. But dominion or GH in (IC) is great, the games are very short IE 10-20min and its more of a pvp then killing creep.
I encourage anyone who hasnt tried it yet to give it a shot.. if anyone wants to group up just shoot me an invite ingame or pm me here.
ALSO ITS SUPER HEROES WHO CAN SAY "NO" TO THAT

Getting risk of comiting threadomancy:
I decided to give this game a shot - especially now, when after finishing tutorial you get 6 heroes for free.
|
Currently playing with my brother, a batman freak that got me to sign up for the beta. The 6 free heroes are very nice. You get them for playing through all the tutorial/training missions, with is VERY helpful to new players as it pretty much explains all the differences from other games, so you wont be surprised at anything when you go PVP, other than other hero abilities, which always takes time to learn what you are up against until you play vs those heroes enough.
They have an achievement system that lets you earn Merit (silver) and Crisis coins(gold) (think IP and RP in LoL). I have unlocked several additional heroes for free by playing and completing a few achievements.
|
Yeah the tutorial is actually pretty nice. I finally got around to playing it a few weeks ago. All in-character and everything too. And you get a surprisingly reasonable income. Also the whole single-lane test arena vs AI thing is really handy.
My only issue is the sheer difficulty of maintaining everything in my head properly. I play DOTA2 frequently and IC and LoL semi-frequently. Trying to remember every item and what everything does and the kinds of things I should be buying in certain situations is hard. X-D

A bump because the game came out on Steam 3 days ago:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/345520/
The playerbase has dramatically increased and you can get all the heroes unlocked for $30. Of course, free to play hero rotation as well as many heroes unlocked through the tutorial. I paid the same for HON when it released, did the same for this. I've been playing a lot since the Steam release. Really, really fun game.

But HoTS is too addicting....
I played this and it's fun. Different than LoL or HoN or DOTA2. Which isn't a bad thing.
|
I gave this another try and actually am having a lot of fun. Could just be the new game/shiny superheroes but so far so good.
