Should I just keep doing stuff on my WD for a) share the gear since they use similar pieces and b) faster blood shards for gambling on the wiz? Or is it more lucrative to actually play rifts (or bounties??) on the wizard at the lower torments?
i think you can only get firebirds as wiz
in a similar vein, if i'm gambling w/ kadala as monk for dh quiver (bomber rucksack), is the % still the same as if i were to gamble as dh?

I'd still be gambling the shards (earned on WD) on my wiz. It's a question of whether earning shards faster on WD outweighs the chance of getting pieces by natural drop on wiz at lower difficulty.

Hey y'all - is now a good time to come back to d3? I played on release with some friends, and we all found the game to be really lacklustre and incomplete. I remember the hardest difficulty being a broken, shitty mess, and the only way to progress was to farm shiny chests in like 2 or 3 spots all day because everything 1 shot you, and balance was shoddy. Also AH was shit. Has this stuff been addressed?
I've heard (nebulously) that things are 'way better now', hence my interest. I'm also concerned that I'm going to be hopelessly far behind at this point.

I can't really comment on the catching up thing, as I don't know what you are trying to catch up to. But unless your friends are very competitive I'd say you will be able to catch up to play with them in a meaningful way, specially if they are OK with carrying you a bit while you gear up.

25k blood shards on average for Tasker and Theo? I guess, I'm on the worst side of RNG...I've spent almost 60k shards, still no Taskers in sight. Got about 10 Magefists though. :/

do sentries now trigger this?
The Gem of Efficacious Toxin poison DoT can now properly be applied by pet attacks that would be awesome.

GREAT CHANGES IMO! So excited to get home! I wonder/assume that the price and legendary chance increased proportionally?
Also, as usual, comments on that are hilarious. I assume the increase in mats drop from (rift/grift) guardians will mostly make up for the lack of stuff to salvage from Kadala.
This is a great patch. Very exciting.

Kadala is why I stopped religiously picking up every yellow and blue that dropped. I just got so many mats as a side effect from gambling legendaries.
If toxin works on sentries, I wonder if it will replace one of the three primary gems.

A Blue post on Kadala's actual rate changes - "For clarity since my phrasing is losing people. Blood shard costs are 5x higher, to keep the same reward per shard I raised drop rates by 5x as well. Then after that I further raised the legendary chance by another 33%. The chance to get a legendary from Kadala is now 10%. Since the system is random players will inevitably go on streaks but over the course of time all players move towards the average and that average is now 33% more items than before." http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/14579177912?page=2#34

Also great to hear!
Reading those bnet posts giving me terrible flashbacks to when I cared about WoW/SC2 more. The vocal minority is so toxic lol. The fact that they're making changes like this at all, in relatively minor patches, is good. It means they're making changes beyond simple balance adjustments or whatever. Quality of life changes are good for the game, whether or not you believe each of those changes is actually an improvement or not.

I almost feel that firebirds is too easy to get now.
Not saying that I'm not happy though!!

these devs should have some sort of hazard pay for having to read those forum threads. jesus christ

A few posters on the EU forums are talking about trial nerfs. Is that also just normal whine, or is it actually a big difference? Blizzards description of those changes is very vague.
"The Rift of Trials has received numerous adjustments in an effort to more accurately assess an appropriate level of Greater Rift"

I have trouble with the trials with Firebirds, it takes time to stack the dot and I can't kill the mobs fast enough to accurately represent my GR level
