Similarly, just using bare-minimum numbers doesn't prove anything. Achieving those numbers with confidence in and of itself is a feat. If it were that easy, then EVERYONE would advance to the OSL, and that would defeat its own principle because there must always be a winner and a loser. I know your article wasn't serious, and it was pretty funny, but it was pushing the envelope a bit TOO far. Written well though, gj n_n

I don't want this to turn into an argument, nor did I have any intention when I wrote what I did. I feel that you are getting defensive and I just want to let you know that I am not attacking you, Final Edits, or even Etter. I know that Final Edits was your creation and I, as much as anyone, am fully appreciative of the work you and the rest of the writers have done. This is definitely one of the coolest features in all of the starcraft world. I know that the decisions are entirely up to you and whoever else is monitoring all this. I trust your judgment, as every FE has been a very nice read and some even worth reading more than once. But to say that you aren't writing for us, and I sincerely mean this, is utter bullshit. How much time did you spend writing Ceremony by Ceremony or A Tale of 2 S class. Did you write both of those up just because you were bored and had nothing to do? Or did you write them up because you strongly felt that you had something to offer to the community in a way that was unique? Both were amazing articles that took something that was already well known and offered it in a way that was spectacular. If you would have received 0 feed back would you still be writing? I know that I do not know your thought process, but I would have to think not. You and DKnight both point out Page 2 and what is brings to the table. Some people may not know what you are talking about but I am a religious page 2 reader and try to keep up with the Sports Guy World and the AM Jump as well as the rest of the articles that are offered. Page 2 is one of the greatest contributions to sports, and I honestly mean that. If final edits was the mirror image of Page 2 I would have absolutely no problem with that. Even with this in mind, it is still acceptable, don't you think, to give some constructive criticism. I know that it was not offered in that fashion here, but I hope that that is what they were aiming to do. If you read the comment section of Page 2 those people are a lot harsher than many of the people who commented here. I especially feel sorry for the guy who has done the recent am jumps, they tear the shit out of him. In his book, We The Media, Dan Gilmore continually points out that the feedback that he has received through his online blog has tremendously aided in his advancement as a writer. Don't take the comments as negative and as an attack, take them as a building block so that you can become a better writer, because whether or not you are writing for yourself or for the audience, I think all of you strive to be better than you previously were. Even if it is only for writing short articles for a serious subject like computer games.

As I said, I will drink to it heavily for it is of greatness! ^__^ But yeah, I was actually trying to defend you with that Page 2 link. I blame the lateness for my lack of clarity.

If you laughed, great. If not, that's fine, too. I'm satisfied with it either way. Everyone just needs to lighten up. In the end, we're talking about a game here. Can you imagine, on a Tuesday morning, asking your coworker, "Man, does Tom Brady through anything BUT interceptions?" and having him say, "Listen, Tom Brady finished last year with the second-least number of interceptions in the NFL, and bringing up his interception count after a single bad game is deceptive and in no way amusing"? That's not how normal people act. On November 03 2007 11:11 Dknight wrote: But yeah, I was actually trying to defend you with that Page 2 link. I blame the lateness for my lack of clarity. Firstly, none of the criticism was constructive. Secondly, this wasn't DJ's attempt at besting War and Peace. It's a short article that he wrote in his spare time, for fun, on a website that doesn't repay him with anything but smartass comments and a hot stone massauge from me each saturday night, to amuse himself and the people of this forum. While I agree, as I previously said, that my outburst was a bit over the top, your deconstruction of a simple humour piece is out of place as well.

And this is where I guess we all just agree to disagree. I never thought etter should try to best War and Peace. All of you keep reiterating that its a humorous article as if I'm not aware. So I guess etter is right in that in that we should just drop it Sorry for derailing your thread, thanks for the article Etter.

I don't think this is so much about agreeing to disagree as it is about you standing up for people that don't deserve it. I mean, this guy? On November 03 2007 06:23 ZergZoul wrote: FE? This is a joke... Seriously...fuck that dude.

It goes without saying that there are two sides to every written piece - the writer/editor and the reader. I think Hot_Bid has good points and I also think Berated has good points to make. I am especially thankful for Berated, because as a reader, he took the extra step of articulating his thoughts and presenting his opinion in a sensible manner. This is good discussion. But it can be carried out through PM, or in a seperate thread in the Website Feedback forum. The comments section for this article should be left for those who want to appreciate the brilliance of Etter's can't-fail plan. Agreed?

Get a solid D average and you’re a champion! But all this research begs the question: because my easy-to-follow steps were not published until just now, who is going to win the current OSL? The answer lies in the percentage. Only one player in the current OSL has a winning percentage above 65.31%, and that player is Jaedong. So who’s going to win the current OSL? Jaedong. You can’t argue with science. If you check right now, Jaedong's winning percentage is exactly 65.31%.
