I don't feel either way to the style of the graphics, cartoony or not but it's 2014 almost, make it as cartoony as you want but make it look better, lol. You can stylize the art without making look like it published in 2008.
I personally prefer their artistic style. It fits better with the somewhat slapstick approach they are taking. I'm more concerned with there being significant graphic overload in multi-player situations. Many of the animations are pretty over the wall.

Yeah I remember when I first started out WoW. I kinda didnt think the style would fit a gritty 3D MMO with undeads and stuff (was ok with it in WC3 though), but it sure grew on me. Now I love the art style, which will probably help me with Wildstar since I'll already be used to the cartoonish style.
Oh and congratulations! Just don't join the dominion. They're mean ;_;
The Engineer DevSpeak should be uploaded to the official WildStar YouTube channel soon, I'll update when it is. For now, the Engineer DevSpeak has been released on other gaming websites.

Yeah, that sums up how I feel a lot better than my own post did. If its stylistic in a cartoony way its fine by me, but I just wished it looked better than it does right now.

They're just there to show the area of effect on abilities. You can select which ones to show, lower the opacity or, if you hate them, even turn them off completely afaik. Animations and graphical effects alone seem pretty telling, but still don't think I'd wanna try that. :D
Stress test is so they can test the servers and invite a lot more people. Closed beta invitations normally are longer then a stress test and aren't so much for stress testing servers.

Thanks blade55555. Do you know if the invitation emails specifically mention stress test or closed beta? How would one determine which invite they received?
I feel like when filling out the beta survey I should have mentioned I have 26,000 twitter followers or dropped some stats about my twitch stream. But there wasn't a great place to mention it (if any? I don't remember if there were any text boxes) so I didn't cram it in there. And now that I haven't received an invite, I wish I'd taken some measures to make myself seem important haha
