He was very unlike the figure seen in this VOD:
No longer childish and silly, he is now somewhat reserved and gentle, but at times, also outgoing and humorous. A most pleasant gentleman to socialize with.
He told me that when this VOD was recorded, he was "young and stupid".
That day, he was going to leave for Västerås by train. As I showed him the way to the train station after a long session of Brood War playing, pizza eating, and beer drinking, we were talking about Brood War, jobs, and programming languages. Because of this, I wasn't focusing much on where I was taking him, and I ended up walking in the wrong direction for a minute or two. When I told him that we had to go backwards, he was like
"But I have no time! The train leaves in 20 minutes!!"
I told him that if I had known he was in such a hurry, I would have focused more.
So we ran. Trying to make up for my mistake, I followed him to the station, in case he would need any help, like directions. We got to the station five minutes before his train was scheduled to leave, and he walked up to an automatic ticket purchasing machine.
And it wouldn't read his card's chip. I eventually shoved my own card in, which was also initially rejected, but quickly accepted due to some good micro from me.
What followed was a great moment of Brood War bromance.
Marwin:
I'll pay you in cash
*Pulls out a 500 :- bill*
vOddy:
That's way too much, it only cost 140:-
Marwin:
You have change?
vOddy: I'm just glad to have helped you, man. I have no change, and your train leaves in ONE minute, you have to go!!!!
Marwin: But how can I repay you?
vOddy: If we meet again later, you can repay me! Now run! Good luck, I hope you make it!
At this point, Marwin smiled as he ran off. I hope he catched the train.
