Either way, seems quite a few beta invites went out last night according to various sources. No luck here (yet), but at least it's nice to know Carbine feel confident enough to open the flood gates. Can't wait for release. :D

I don't know what I'm bummed about more, that I don't get to play or that I may never get that beta tester hover board that you'll get in-game when it's finally released! Carbine have done a great job with showing off Wildstar. In my opinion they've done better in that regard than any other developer I've followed in recent years (ArenaNet did a good job with GW2 tho). Maybe repeated letdowns have made the audience a bit more careful, or people turn around when the graphic style isn't aiming for realism (I love the artsy style of Wildstar tho).

Sure, people are talking about it, but the forum threads are way smaller than it was for the games mentioned above. Also, when mentioning Wildstar to friends, they've been either clueless or uninterested, with a few exceptions. Carbine have done a great job with showing off Wildstar. Could be the fact they are marketing it as a wow vanilla game(which imo would be good) yet they have flying mounts and a dungeon finder two of the worst things added to wow to make it the terrible game it is today. Also the people who played vanilla wow are probably in their mid twenties yet the game art and everything to do with the game looks like it is made for 8 year olds. I mean come on the videos they show are so stupid. They don't even look like they are in serious combat. The two videos that released before wow came out are still fucking amazing to watch. I am not saying vanilla wow is the best game and you need to copy it but a good mmo trying to duplicate that experience should not have a LFG dungeon finder and flying mounts. Both ruin the open world experience especially the open world pvp experience. Even if pvp is not your thing they still ruin the experience. If a game has that it might as well be a rpg where every one sits in a town because that's what ends up happening anyways. Disclaimer: I have never played the beta so what I said about flying mounts and LFG tool could be wrong. I am just going by what I have read about the game. The graphics and G rated style they are going for can be seen with out a beta key.

Not in the beta either, so I might be wrong here, but for all I know they were considering flying mounts, but recieved a negative response from the community (and rightly so, imoho it was a terrible idea in wow), and changed their mind. LFG will probably be in. Was never a fan of that in WoW either. The graphic style is a subjective thing I guess. Personally I like it, but I guess most would be inclined to agree with you there as well. Eh...still don't see why it doesn't get more hype. Seems so much fun.

I'm so tired of these cartoony graphics... Do people not go for more realistic graphics on mmo's because it would lag shit up to hard or is it some other reason? I mean with SC2 when you have your graphics on low the game looks pretty bad and awful computers can still run it, but on ultra it looks amazing. Couldn't the same thing be true with mmos?
