I mean, what's the overlap between "people who watch anime at 2am on Saturday" and "people who watch dubbed anime that's been out for years?" Does Cartoon Network have so many great shows that they can't put anime on at a reasonable hour? I remember watching Robotech on TV after school as a kid, and it seems weird that the state of anime on TV in the US hasn't really gotten any better in 20 years.

I think you can make the argument that anime on TV in the US as regressed. Plus the dubbing, it seems insane how little growth there has been in that area and there only a handful of voice actors that can even begin to compare to their Japanese counterparts.

Also a few channels showed some anime at night such as Lupin, Noir, Hellsing, Golden Boy, Agent Aika. Not bad I'd say.

I don't really know why Adult Swim waits until 12am to start showing anime. I though maybe it was in the hopes that it would be too late for kids to watch it, but they start showing King of the Hill and Family Guy and stuff at 9pm. I'm guessing SAO will come on at 2am because the other shows (Bleach, Naruto, etc.) are more popular. What does it even matter that it's on at 2am though? It's 2013. Most cable packages come with a DVR already, just record it if it's too late for you or whatever.

However, can't stop thinking it's way to serious of an anime for me (personally) to enjoy though, despite it probably being really good

See, the first time I was told about it I checked it out on MAL and saw Genres: Mystery, Drama, Horror, Police, Psychological, Thriller, Seinen and figured that's not my show, but yeah guess I'll start watching if everyone keeps pestering about it

Less creepy than his previous works (though still pretty creepy), and might actually have a happy story this time?
