Honestly I don't know if lack of blood now days is because of censoring, or intentional on the creators part. 90s anime were particularly bloody, for example. Even early 2000s stuff like Gundam SEED had people getting microwaved on screen. I figured the anime industry just lost their gore fetish, but I guess maybe censorship got stronger

I don't really think it's censoring. I think it's just lack of it being incorporated into shows now.

Given Bear's character, the strange cast, and the animation during the trial, I think it's safe to assume the latter.

I even watch Gifuu Doudou for now (out of Sengoku Basara nostalgia mostly), but I don't sense much coming from that show unfortunately. It could have been a good tale of raw manliness, honor and bromance though, but it's too slow paced.

Redline - Such wonderful quality, setting reminded me of Heavy Metal 2000 a bit.
Touhou Little Reimu - Was good, also tears.
.hack//Quantum - My favourite of the three, compressed .hack feels like a reasonable way to describe it.
.hack//The Movie: Sekai no Mukou ni - Animation style bugged me a bit, start was annoying and they just had to work some misunderstanding nonsense in there but was ok otherwise. Backgrounds were pretty.

I read they made the blood pink so they could essentially lower the game's rating from M to T to hit a wider audience.

Seems dumb that making the blood pink would lower the rating. Everyone knows these people are still being killed even it it looks colorful

That's like saying seeing someone get chopped in half is the same as seeing someone get chopped in half, their blood sprayed everywhere, and their guts spilled on the floor. In both cases they know the person is getting chopped in half after all.
