For me, sc is all about evil humans fighting badass insects, and then some alien guy who wasn't invited to the party shows up and fire his laser. More seriously, TvZ has always been the royal matchup in the sc universe, the matchup in which the bw bonjwas became bonjwa, meanwhile P players failed to build such story lines. Maybe this is a legacy from bw, but if TvZ in sc2 looks fucked as it is now, and as it was in early wol, then people will be more likely to go apeshit because this match-up is sc2's main event. If P is struggling, well that's unfortunate but less of a news. I'm a racist cunt. It's quite sad too, people saying that TvZ is the best matchup is more of a carryover from BW and early 2012 SC2 than any actual truth. TvP has been the best-designed and most dynamic matchup for almost a year now, super early pressure is still viable, armies are constantly moving around the map, there's a ton of multitasking, and it's well balanced. Yeah I fully agree and most people think the same way I guess. Despite being limited on tech choice (no mech or skytoss), TvP is tense and action-packed. TvT is easily better than TvP. TvZ was far superior to TvP when mutalingbling vs marinetank existed.
I have to disagree TvT is not better than TvP. Watching TvT looks like I'm watching World War 1 koprulu sector style. And that's bio-mech, watching a Mech v Mech game is like watching a sumo match that last 20+ minutes. I've never found appeal in the matchup, call me super bias but it looks like a giant standoff until someone makes a mistake and then it ends.

Oh man, I'm sad. Granted, Roro played a lot better today, so it was a totally deserved win, but I still wish Taeja would've advanced. It's hard enough to motivate myself to watch non-HOTS games as it is, and now the finals will be my least favorite matchup Q.Q.
|
This does't surprise me, Taeja has been alwful since he came back from his injury. Clearly he needs more time to recover before being thrown into the fire so fast.

Well, no one can say that Taeja deserved to win that, that's for sure.

The debate about best match-ups is completely pointless. Actually most match-ups look pretty much the same in terms of what we can do with them right now, but people use different angles to view them in order to make them look different.
PvP is a rushfest? PvP too short! PvP goes into long macro game? PvP too boring! PvP is twilight vs robo vs stargate vs twilight? Omg too coinflippy.
TvT rush? Omg great micro! TvT long macro game? Omg tanks, so intense! TvT mech vs bio? Omg I wonder if he can outcontrol the mech, awesome!
Anyway I'm more interested in why terrans feel the need to remind us in every single TvT that "omg TvT is really the greatest match-up I'm jizzing my pants over this" than I am in the actual valor of the match-ups.

no interview yet ? we have 3 guys fighting vs each other who makes it first and now we have no one for today ? strange

"I'm glad the best semi finalists won no matter the race" - alot people
and zvz is same as bad as tvt for all who ask ^^ damn we need hots so hard xD

Was really hoping for WoL to go out with a bang but this will be another finals I skip.

Will still be watching, doesn't really matter who the finalists are. The boredom for me is the last four having three Z, etc. Still have to watch the last WoL GSL out of respect if nothing else :p

Because the game was broken with a massive imbalance in Terran's favor for a long time and that probably has a lot of explanatory power for MVP's success. So even if we agree zerg imba is bad, if one race has to be imba better terran than anything else.

What a fucking joke. The game was actually broken during the 1/1/1 period and that was after a magnificent year and a half. That's the problem with sc2. No one's fighting for a good balanced spectacle.

Also in WoL I think a majority of neutral(non-players/randomers) spectators prefer to watch PvT. I just think the Protoss are 10x more badass than Terran/Zerg in all ways so I'm pretty biased, anyway! :D But there's a reason why they save the coolest race for the last expansion. The final bossssss is always the strongest! JD and Flash made TvZ awesome as well

Wow I thought the series would be closer after the first two games but I was wrong. oh well...

I wanted RorO to win but I'm kinda burnt out on ZvZ, even though Symbol has many builds to make it interesting. I play Z mostly (if not random) so I'm kinda tired of ZvZ lol

Wanted Taeja to win but whatever, I'll tune in regardless

Roro probably won because he has better training condititions due to being on the better team, not because of balance.

.....ZvZ grand final

He won because he doesn't have to play against the time.
He won because he's not under the preassure being the last of his race in Ro4.
He won because he doesn't have a community praying on him to win to save the WoL's face as a complete game failure.
Sure, there's no balance involved.
