With the release of Luv Sic part 6, and shedding many tears at the end of it. I feel compelled more than ever to spread the music of Nujabes. I'm not really a fan of categorizing music into genres but if you had to label it, it would be Hip hop/Jazz.
Nujabes is best known for his approach to hip hop beats, often blending jazz influences into his songs creating a mellow, nostalgic and atmospheric sound.
Nujabes has produced many godly songs and albums. He has also contributed a lot to the soundtrack of Samurai Champloo, which has to be Unfortunately, Nujabes is no longer with us and can no longer produce music, but he lives on in the tracks he has made. Luckily there are others like him that make/produce godly music. Its hard to write about how I feel about these songs as words cannot describe them. It would be awesome if you could take a moment and listen to all of them. + Show Spoiler [Luv (sic.) part 1] +
Luv (sic.) is sooooooo god damned good. So is Nujabes and Shing02.
I love Gao for feeding me these songs, and so should you! The lyrics and their relation to eachother is so strong that I cannot honestly find the words to describe how they make me feel. There is no emotion that fits it well enough. Especially part 5, manly manly tears were shed at the "original" version of it.
Wait, was part 6 recently released? I knew about the guy pretty recently after I saw it on Xmithie's stream for LoL, I took his station and have listened to Nujabes since. I wish he hadn't died, his music was such a nice change from the shitty rap that I hear all the time.

Wow I didn't even know there was going to be a part 6. My personal fave is pt. 3 but wow....love the orchestral mellow hip-hop. Anyone who isn't into this kind of stuff should give it a try.
I love them all (though Shing02 is sometimes a bit hard to understand), but I think my favorite version is the live performance of part 4 with Emi Meyer's vocals and Uyama Hiroto's sax.

Part 6 was released today
Reportedly, after Nujabes died the found a sample on his cellphone titled 'Luv(sic) Grande Finale'. Sting02 and someone (I forget t_t) worked on bringing the track to life from what was found on his phone and the result is posted in the op
Very fitting that The Grande Finale was released exactly three years after his death (he died 26th Feb, which was yesterday in Japan).
I started listening to Nujabes when I heard about his death. I loved his music and was really sad that he wasn't around to make more of it. I'm so happy that part 6 got released. It's so beautiful, just like the rest of Luv sic.

Yea, I found Nujabes through watching Samurai Champloo, (probably one of the reasons i think highly of it, because i was able to find Nujabes through it) For me Nujabes opened a gateway for me, and I was able to find similar artists with very godly songs as well.
