I respect the Bioware guys, so if it ends up looking good and gets some turnaround from DA2 then maybe I'll pick it up once it goes on sale somewhere.

Did you not notice that most of what made DA:O great was absent in DA2? Perhaps you enjoyed the fact that DA2 was so utterly different to DA:O. I personally didn't enjoy what turned out to be a Dungeon Siege clone with some dating sim sprinkled on top. DA3 doesn't sound much better either. First of all, a fixed human character as lead again? Sigh..... In a world full of dwarves, elves and all manner of creatures, we have a human lead again. Where's the variety? And bigger level design than DA2? That's not saying much. I couldn't really give a shit though. I haven't bought anything from Bioware or EA since ME3, and I don't plan to ever again.

The pause mechanic was still there and in theory you could've still made it a strategic RPG type of game (maybe not to the extent of Baldur's Gate but you get it). I played a couple of characters, mainly rogue. I wanted to try all 3 classes, so I made a force mage but it was pointless; control spells didn't need to be used, and only a few fights were hard (I remember 1 boss fight in the dungeon being 10x harder than everything else, which was annoying as it hits you like a brick wall). The locations though, that was AWFUL. "Hey, walk around the same town for 40 hours, that's the game! Epic quests? No no, you're more like town helper in this game. Awesome final boss? Ahahahah, won't YOU be surprised."

Elves. Check Dating sim? Check. So what's different? A few areas, and "great".

I then played dragonage2 and quit after the enemies started coming in waves, and i spent 5 hours in the same "cave" system. I might be crazy but i memorize maps really easly, and using the same map 4-5 times in a row with simple blocked entrances made me feel disgusted. Dragon Age 3 looks ok, but not as good as number 1 just yet.

Let's hope they can prove me wrong, but my guess is that EA games doesn't give a shit as long as it sells. + Show Spoiler +

The combat system, the lore, the understated but still epic storyline were all things I loved from the first game, but everything about DA2 seemed try-hard and stale. But yeah I really want them to nail this one. I loved the DA universe and I'm hoping for a more expansive and strategic game *fingers crossed*.
