I really hope that the league contracts, it is like a perfect storm for the Oilers. We pay less in revenue sharing, we get a #1 defenceman in Yandle/OEL from dispersal draft, and we have one less team to leapfrog for a playoff spot.

Therefore, we'll have 30 teams and the team will move away from Glendale.

I am really surprised that pitt or detroit didn't take a run at him for that money. Ya me too. Maybe Holland is hoping he lucked out again and some of his AHLs are going to turn it up. Or I guess since Sutter rejected him and Webber is locked in, the Wings are kind of fucked unless that Smith kid magically turns into a top pairing D man.

http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/morning_call/2012/07/pressure-on-jamison-to-show-his.html " the Glendale City Council put the our city’s reputation and financial health on the line when it voted to approve a $324 million lease agreement along with hikes in sales and property taxes to keep the Coyotes from leaving Glendale. They did so, in large part, based on your promises as a potential buyer. " This clown doesn't have a nickel. This is about to get very ugly.

its is AMAZING. http://www.NHL94Online.com basically NHL 94 is the "Brood War" of hockey games. Just want to say that these CBA negotiations have given me a chance to watch Don Fehr up close at work. This guy is a fucking genius. He is already working on dividing the owners up between the "haves" and the "have nots".

That said, I like the contract because Taylor Hall is 20 years old and this buys three years of UFA status on the cheap. If we can call 6M cheap (and with the contracts handed out to UFAs, we can). A good comparison for Mr.Taylor Hall is one John Tavares:
Near bloody-identical. And the contracts are similar enough that I'm convinced the Oilers used the Tavares contract as a template for Hall's. And while I hate to get all saw-him-good when discussing a player's impact, it's hard not to look beyond the numbers when it comes to a guy like Hall. The kid is a beast. He is the type of impact player that can change the course of a game every time he steps on the ice. I don't know how many of you remember those great Oilers teams of the 80s - if you do, then you remember that the only reason they could play the type of hockey they did was because certain members of the team (one in particular) could create the type of game that others would excel in. In the current version of the team, no one player has a larger impact on how the team performs than Taylor Hall. They are a far better team when he is in the lineup, creating a pace and open-ice for his teammates to create offence. His assets do go beyond just his numbers (which are damn fine for a 20 year old regardless). Of course, with his style of play comes the associated injuries and what-not - but if he can stay moderately healthy, it's a big win.
