He's a big boy, I think he can do basic arithmetic.

VE I think you played very well this game. It's a far cry from the game I mislynched you in :D. I understand your style more, but also you just played a really good game.

Thx pal! Sorry I didn't pick up what you were doing with the cop-claim. Luckily we had BeastModeSyllo this game too ^^
e: Looking back, did you interpret your role as you CAN'T claim? Because it looked to me to be just advised against.

sorry VE, it's part of my play to provoke players. :-/ I hope you forgive me. + QbertZs reaction confirmed him to be scum for me. (asking for a modkill lol) And you should eat your hat now, btw. You played very well. happy birthday ;-o

Edit: I knew scum had a power to instantly kill me and after foolishness died I asked protact if it was still there. They responded that the execs held the power so I assumed that I was still in danger if I outright claimed because I didn't want to give the mafia a free KP on me (which is how I assumed that the trapdoor worked). I was banking on whoever controlled the trapdoor not paying very close attention to the thread for a page or two or just not caring enough to pick up what I was trying to do. Luckily for me, sloosh sent me a PM telling me to bus him as hard as I could so he may have interpreted that as me trying to bus him. Ultimately I really have no idea why I didn't die. There was no rule against me claiming outright, I just didn't want to give that extra KP.

It's cool, better players than you agree with you.
And yeah, I'll post a pic when I have time. A REAL pic...of me REALLY eating my hat. Unlike some imitators you might be familiar with.

I stand by my statement - supersoft summed it up nicely in his rage. The consensus is that I get lucky. It's good to know that's not unanimously considered to be the case.
Someone can claim that you were lucky in your lynch target, but that's silly. You seemed convinced that BH was mafia because of Foolishness's flip, and, frankly, more than half the game's players found him scummy (some of us were asleep by deadline D1 or would have swapped over), so it's not like you lynched randomly into the entire game.
You got some information out of Chezinu's posts, doing more than just trying to interpret him but actively going through all his posts and working through what he was saying and what it meant (Not always town, but I found it town here just like I found people doing that town in LVI). You looked townie enough that probulous made you king, he didn't just choose a person at random. You came out with your role, let everyone know why you were choosing probulous and also the implications of two kingmakers/his choice of lynch. All of that looked very townie, and all of that led directly to both (a) lynches of scum AND (b) a more organized town.
One reason game was so boring at the end was that town finally got organized. The kingmaker lynches and the information that came out of them was an important part in getting us all organized.
|
Well, to be fair, the Foolish lynch directly before the King lynches was what really organized town. And that was all supersoft.

If we're gonna post pictures I think we all really need to do one of these. I have a feeling that this pic will be useful in future games.

I did start out enjoying this game but it didn't last long. The problem was this game was to hard to play as scum. This game felt like the easiest walk in the park for town because scum needs to figure themselves out, so if they think someone is scum they can't push for their lycnhes unless you want to buss every day. So breaking the game... See who doesn't push scummy people. Kill those people. During day 1 I believed. Layabout, Foolishness, Bill Murray, Gonzaw, Meapak, GGQ, Q-bert-Z and Palmar was mafia. Which was 6/8 correct. The same thing goes with town. If you attacked scummy behavior you pretty much cleared yourself because scum couldn't do this. Supersoft, prob, vicera etc and more did this and was obv-town.
Though maybe we just played poorly. I'd like to hear more from the hosts how we should had played. And don't give me any you need to organise yourselves better nonsense or you were lazy. Speak specifics please, what should we had done. How should we had used our powers.
Looking at the powerroles. The scum powers sucked. We had 1 kp, 1 pardon a pm power and kp to kill the traitor. My own powers only usefullness I guess seemed to be if we lost all top communication. I planned on using it to claim 1-shot cop which reveals the alignment in the daypost. Though that failed when people started posting scum pm's all over the thread because apparently town had pm-cops. Against this the town had all sorts of stuff from promotion powers (double lynch) to BM's votestealer/cop role and this is what I really disliked and what absolutely ruined the whole setup for me. PM-spying powers that was good as hell. And worst of all we had no idea about roles like that existed so how the hell do we defend ourselves against that. It wasn't as if our communcation was crippled enough.
So as I said if I'm just wrong and dumb please tell me because right now I'm just feeling petty and angry because I don't feel this setup was fair.

VisceraEyes has been given night-immunity and has given two votes for the remainder of the game. Zealos the Entrepreneurial townie has been modkilled by not posting for three days. You have 48 hours to vote but if you nearly unanimously decide on a lynch I will end it faster.
You don't remember that? Oh, that's what I would have done with your power if I were scum. Or something along those lines.
Yes you were outted by the snoops, but still...mod-confirmation can be incredibly strong. Worth a shot, right?

well I agree with you that the setup was kind of imbalanced. I couldn't believe it until the end, that we have 2 kingmakers, 2 PM readerguys, 2 PM writerguys, a mole, one nuke and dreamflower. I didn't even know that syllo is hider - I was pretty sure that he rolled vet. + Compared to my role, the other roles seemed to be pretty strong. I also thought that BH role was bugged and he dies if he hits scum, is that correct? Was it a typo?

I figured it was correct and just gave scum the option of either trading 1 for 1 if needed, or letting BH snipe a few consensus scum players and gain town cred.
I know I would have had a hard time believing BH was a multi-shot scum vig, no matter how he played.

lol his role is completely useless. The only use was confirming me :D

But imagine where a well-organized scum team could have been after sacrificing one of the branches!
Like, imagine if Foolish hadn't been implicated in the opening post (PCP Enterprises...after No clues is in the OP. LOL). Imagine further if Foolish had been playing his standard town game. Imagine further that he found and lynched a whole branch of his team.
Imagine how far he could have gotten with 2 partners who know who he is, 3 minions who know 1 of the people who know who foolish is, and a whole town of people following him because he's consistently lynching scum.
The game seems to have been designed around the length of the game, and I think that's something the scum team didn't really account for. If Foolish had done some serious bussing early on and lynched a couple of scum, his cred would have been sufficient to at least avoid a vig shot. He might have still had to contend with the lynch, but that would have changed the game entirely.
I don't think it's imbalanced in favor of town...at least, not if the scum-team is going to be playing ball.

That was satisfying
The key to this game was Day 1 and unfortunately for scum Gonzaw was too busy to really play. That vital link in their structure was missing. As town we knew that mafia would be all over the place. That is incredibly powerful and was something I relied on. Either they were going to be wishy washy non committal or they would have to accidentally bus their team. It was a win for town.
I agree that town had too many power roles. The game was effectively won after the king lynches. Gonzaw risk and qbertz were never in the top half of my townie lists before the snoopers outed themselves.
Overall best game I have played. Thanks so much to the hosts and thanks to my fellow players. You were awesome.
