Buy a monster Korean, better if in Code S already, and fly him around under your banner. Can keep a few of the foreigners around to pretend to be a foreigner team (TL, EG) or can go full-Korean (FnaticRC, FXO). Basically the real story for me right now is how dominant SlayerS still is with Ryung, Puzzle, Alicia, Coca, and now ex-SlayerS Taeja doing very well recently. Saw a tweet from Kennigit praising Victor (Nazgul) for his talent scouting abilities, but the real praise goes towards, of course, SlayerS Boxer. Ret has placed high in almost every tournament he been to this year. There are many Koreans on foreign teams that have not performed that well. What's really damn clear is that people need to stop generalizing base on 1 player or 1 event. Ret is very good, no one can deny that. I'll also say I'll be very surprised when Ret/IdrA/Sheth/* takes the next MLG (or any Korean heavy touranment for that matter), I won't be surprised at all if Puma/Taeja/Hero/Oz/Alive/* take it. I think it would be pretty (very) blind to say Teamliquid/EG built these players. SlayerS/TSL/* built them. I also admit that the foreigner teams made them successful, because those are two different things. Without the financial backing that foreigner teams can give these Korean super talents, they would've probably stagnated, or lose motivation when competing in only the GSL. So that was the point of my post. You can either get a Korean-like infrastructure, with their (legitimate) team houses, managers and coaches scouting for new truly unproven players, or you can let someone else build them for you and then recruit them and make them successful. I have no problem against either choice, this happens and is expected in sports in general. I hope to see more foreign team success regardless of the choice, since it helps grow the industry in general. The thing that throws me off from time to time is Teamliquid staff constantly claiming/alluding to the fact that Teamliquid builds players from the ground, and brings them to success, when in general that it's not true at all. Also I forgot before, GG WP Taeja Terran hero we deserve, and the one we need.

Yea Stephano showed he's the best foreigner outside of Korea way more than Naniwa did by making it to the Ro8 GSL 2 times in a row. /facepalm On July 23 2012 07:57 Dosey wrote: On July 23 2012 07:55 nihlon wrote: On July 23 2012 07:49 Dosey wrote: On July 23 2012 07:48 Die4Ever wrote: On July 23 2012 07:47 yeint wrote: On July 23 2012 07:46 Sakray wrote: So a terran finally won, u guys happy now? Ahh... dat anti-stephano bias. I love how calling Stephano the "best foreigner outside of Korea" constitutes anti-Stephano bias. You can't argue with facts. But to say he wasn't underperforming when he made clear mistakes vs Oz that even code B zergs wouldn't make is rather silly. Oz played well, yes, but Stephano played poorly. Be it anti-steph bias or korean bias, it's still bias in one form or another. Also, to say that after coming off a victory vs one of the best PvZers who is currently in the finals.......... This is no comment on anyone's skill ever, but what makes you think Stephano is a Code A/Code S zerg. He hasn't even been accepted into a GSL qualifier which makes him Code B or less. Dat logic... Not sure if troll... or...? He turned down a Code S seed btw.
