Even if you do buy the general argument, that billion dollar mansion was probably built by foreign contractors, designed by a foreign design firm, and features fixtures and furnishings comings almost exclusively from foreign companies -- the money spent there isn't trickling down, it's just leaving an already poor country in droves.

It's called the Versailles mansion and it's completely badass. The guy pretty much has a mall in his basement, with an arcade, bowling alley, movie theater, etc. You can criticize it but don't act like you wouldn't be in that sucker, riding around in an electric go cart while you visit the candy store, play a little bowling, and stop off at the theater for some flicks. Like everything else it would kinda lose its novelty after a while. There were such better ways he could have handled that situation lol

and the word "spoiled" is a very subjective term. I bet I can point out dozens of attributes about that that would make u appear spoiled to someone from a third world country. Its always the rich complaining about those richer than themselves. The rich spend a far smaller portion of their income than do the poor and middle-class, but keep cheerleading the rich! Even if you do buy the general argument, that billion dollar mansion was probably built by foreign contractors, designed by a foreign design firm, and features fixtures and furnishings comings almost exclusively from foreign companies -- the money spent there isn't trickling down, it's just leaving an already poor country in droves. and I love this every time I hear this argument. The truth is if the rich were to pour all of their money into the economy, inflation would skyrocket! You may argue that there is not enough demand, and the rich need to spend a larger portion of their wealth to stimulate the economy, but the truth is in the fact that most of the jobs in the US are in services and not manufacturing. As a result, we are constantly exporting all of our valuable resources to pay for the imported goods. There are no jobs because the US can not simply hope to compete with nations with 22 cents wages.

I'm not arguing that the rich should pour all of their money into the economy (in fact, I'm not arguing anything in that post). In fact, I think that the rich should be taxed at a reasonable rate and the government should use this money on things like improving infrastructure, investing in local economies, and expanding social programs. All of these things result in money staying largely within the US. Even if some of the money eventually makes its way overseas, it's certainly far superior to the current situation where the rich basically do nothing with their money that has any sort of domestic benefit.
