I haven't been around or playing much (not that I can play again yet even if I wanted to - I'll put that in another blog later) because one of my own precious cats, Dennis, passed away very suddenly. He was a rescue I picked up after someone carelessly dumped him - he was sick and completely deaf. He'd been on the road to recovery when, Friday night two weeks ago, he had a stroke out of nowhere.
He was nine years old by the vet's estimation and had been on his own for about a year. He was a weird cat - refused to get in a carrier but would ride calmly in the car sitting on my lap with his paws up on the edge of the window, looking out like a dog would. He had a very loud, irritating meow but that was probably because he couldn't hear himself. He may have been filthy and skinny, but I always let him sleep in bed with me. Dennis was a great cat and I wouldn't have traded him for any other kitty in the world. Whoever abandoned him lost a great treasure and a precious soul. Shame on them.
Rest in peace, good buddy. Wherever you are now...I hope you're happy.

I have an 18yr old cat right now and you can tell the autumn/winter weather is getting to her... Pets are a huge emotional investment.

I simply adore cats and Im sorry to hear about his passing. Are you thinking about getting another one?

I shed a tear Feels so horrible to lose a pet. My dog was killed by another dog 4 years ago and when I think about it I still feel really bad about it.

ps. People who dump their pets just like that on the road should seriously burn in hell. Makes me so mad...
