Wish Hydra would have won though....
I watched streams for a good portion of the day, including Sheth's stream, which was interesting. He was trying out a new Infestor-Roach style. He did well, and while he played, he responded to the chat. He respoded to several of my comments! I almost nerdgasmed on the spot. Sheth freakin' talked to me man!
I didn't play quite as much today, but I did get several wins! :D I was only playing IRL friends while on Skype though, so I didn't get very much accomplished at all. Although I did have two very interesting games, one against Rudolph, and another against his brother.
SolitarySparta's game: We had just come from a night of 2v2's that went horribly, and a single 1v1 where I kept him contained, took 3 bases, and rolled him with massive amounts of tech units. So we load up the game, it's a ZvP on Python. I'm Zerg, of course, and figure I'll go for my standard 3 Hatch Spire into 5 Hatch Hydra. I do, and the game goes fairly normally, but I just can't break his front. I take the expansion, but the ramp is just too strong. So I put down a group of Lurkers and start transtioning for a doom drop. So, as I begin dropping him with a full group of full ovies, my 3rd base gets slammed by dragoons. I laugh and think, ok, he just shuttled a ton of goons out, as I had seen a shuttle be made earlier. I demolish Sparta's base, but don't win. Obviously there's a base somewhere, so I send out some scout scourge. I find and eliminate a base at the 2 O'clock base's natural. I scout around some more to find him with the midnight main base all set up and running. I grab my lurkers and go in for an attack, as I get there, he's taking the natural and walling it off with cannons. Unfortunately for him, his Pylon blocked his Nexus, so as I get there he begins killing his own Pylon. My Lurkers get burrowed as the cannons unpower, leaving him without detection. I wreck the natural, get my lurkers to the top of the ramp, and have to contain him, because I can't go further in or risk getting mauled. I remember the shuttle again, and go check all the expansions for bases. I decide to have a little fun while Sparta is pinned to the wall, I decide to take every base on the map. It takes forever, and about halfway through, Sparta asks me to leave him alone while e works on a "project" in his base. I figure, "What the heck, I have every base on the map, if he breaks the contain, I can mass up an army so fast it'd make Chuck Norris look like a noob." (Yes, I thought that. To the letter) So, eventually, I get bored, and decide to send in a scourge to see what he's up to. I send it in the right side of his base, near the mineral fields. As I approach the interior of the base, the fog of war slowly fades away. As it does, the mineral fields drop from sight. Then the Nexus disappears too. Wait, what? I can understand, the minerals are mined out, but the Nexus?!?!?! As I get further in, I come upon a strange sight; a lone cannon, killing it's own Pylon. He'd destroyed his own base, out of sheer boredom. XD It was definitely one of the funnier endings to a game I've played.
Sparta's game: TL;DR: He killed himself.
Rudolph's game: Same situation, same map, same races. I opened with the same build, but got a lucky 6 lings through his wall, and forced him to take probes off mining and get a second gateway. He just rallied Zealots into my main. He took out both my main, and my natural (Except for a hidden hatch), leaving me with my 3rd base only. Luckily, he didn't go back to my main, so I was able to rebuild both my main and natural from my one and only hatchery there. He was able to get corsairs up fairly quickly, and wreck my food count until I got my Spire for scourge. I used those little balls of flaming awesome to take out the carriers her transitioned into for a laugh. Then doom dropped him as revenge.
Rudolph's game: TL;DR: He wrecked me early, but left me on 3 base.
Yep, so I'm gonna finish this salad, and go have some fun. C'ya guys!
BTW: Day[9] was awesome tonight.
