The trouble for me is that all the good players posting in this thread are actually very intimidating and aren't shy about calling out posts they find suspicious. The conversation also goes pretty fast and I don't like quoting people and saying "this" or "fail" or whatever. But there was one question QuickStriker asked a while back that I know I can answer. I was basically a bandwagon vote for Qatol, pretty much voting without explaining myself. The logic behind electing a mayor is simple: You don't want a mafia there. You also want a strong and active player there so that if he isn't mafia he'll be a huge asset and if he is mafia he'll be easier to sniff out. The two reasons I voted for Qatol are that he fits the "strong and active player" bill and the fact that he started his campaign before any roles were released. While it's true that he may have been assigned a mafia role the odds of that are slim compared to the odds of him not getting a mafia role. Considering you can't really trust anyone I decided I liked those odds. | ||

Clearly Qatol comes under suspicion, as do veterans of TL mafia who would talk a lot behind the scenes. Since Qatol is the only person I can be sure to suspect, I'd suggest taking a good look at QuickStriker. Qatol made a point not to target him with his mayoral lynch although QS has been a suspicious character for several people so far. | ||

At least I never protected any Mafias. I was really worried about it after I protected Vivi57 and then he basically clammed up after that. But I was dead wrong about Quickstriker. | ||

This was a very rough game for my first game, I must say. You really couldn't be sure about anyone, and then when the hits started rolling in with an incredible degree of accuracy....it's too hard not to panic. | ||

It was that last question that clued me in that you really could be mafia. I suppose it could have just been a friendly question in order to get me thinking and posting but it seemed weird that you would just ask something like that. I kind of got the feeling it was "gauge the new player and if he's insightful then kill him quickly." But even though you were mafia after all that may not have been the case anyway. I really should have sent out more PMs and trusted my instincts. Turns out (after the fact, of course) that they were pretty good. Things just got so crazy and confusing that it became impossible to really find someone I felt I could trust. Even though I never protected a mafia I was unfortunate that the mafia never hit anyone I protected other than Pyrr who was double-hit and RoL who was hit when I was also hit. I would have PM-ed whoever I saved even though Qatol's explanation as to why I shouldn't made sense. Medic is a very stressful role. | ||
