Total of 6 maps, with 4 new maps!
KeSPA has announced the official maps that will be used for Proleague Round 4 starting 11th April 2009.
Round 4 will now have 6 maps after removing old maps, down from 8 official maps. Only Medusa and Destination will be kept.
Round 4 will include fresh new maps, Heartbreak Ridge, God's Garden, Battle Royale and Outsider.
Maps with new concepts have been added to the map pool, with hopes of creating new exciting games.
Destination will remain as it is, while Medusa has underwent 'PvT' balance changes, and will be called 'Neo Medusa'.
The new maps will be used in round 4 and 5, and based on balance, a maximum of two maps will be replaced at the end of round 4 if necessary.
The maps will be revealed to everyone and for everyone to download, including observer versions, at the official website www.e-sports.or.kr on 10th April 2009.

+ Show Spoiler [Original Korean News] +신한은행 프로리그 08-09 4라운드 공식맵 발표 2009년 04월 06일 15시 11분 [한국e스포츠협회 제공]총 공식맵 수 6개로 변경, 신규맵 4개 대거 투입 사단법인 한국e스포츠협회(회장 서진우)는 오는 4월 11일(토)부터 시작하는 “신한은행 프로리그 08-09시즌 4라운드” 공식맵을 발표했다. 4라운드부터는 기존 8개의 공식맵에서 올드맵이 제외된 6개의 공식맵이 사용된다. 또한 기존맵 6개 중 메두사와 데스티네이션을 제외한 나머지 4개맵은 신규맵으로 교체하게 됐다. 4라운드부터 새롭게 선보이는 신규맵은 ‘단장의능선’, ‘신의정원’, ‘배틀 로얄(Battle Royal)’, ‘아웃사이더(Outsider)’로, 단순한 형태의 힘싸움형 맵 보다는 다소 전략적이고 독특한 형태의 맵이 대거 선정됐다. 특히 기존 맵의 지형형태와는 다소 색다른 내외곽 전장 분리형 맵이 2개나 추가되며 새로운 형태의 경기양상을 볼 수 있을 것으로 기대되고 있다. 지난 시즌 잔류맵인 데스티네이션은 수정 없이 그대로 사용되며, 메두사는 테란vs토스전을 보완하는 수정을 거쳐서 ‘네오 메두사’로 수정되어 사용된다. 선정된 공식맵은 4~5라운드 동안 사용되며, 종족밸런스 및 경기양상을 고려하여 필요시 4라운드 종료 후 최대 2개까지 다른 신규맵으로 교체할 예정이다. 공식맵의 일반인 공개는 4월 10일(금) 협회 사이트(www.e-sports.or.kr)를 통해 공개될 예정이며 옵저버 맵과 연습용 맵이 포함되어 배포된다. 모바일로 보는 스타크래프트 1253+NATE/ⓝ/ez-i Enjoy e-Sports & http://www.fomos.kr 무단 전재 및 재배포 금지

A few map changes from the first beta builds:
Neo Medusa - Center is mainly buildable now
Battle Royale - Changed center design
Heartbreak Ridge - Added minerals and Temples to corners

here is a picture of neo medusa
so yeh middle is mostly buildable now
i don't understand the gas change at the bottom main though
|
you could siege the gas from really high up on the high ground at 6 before, whereas with the other 2 mains you had to make your way further in before you could reach any resources.

ya played all of them a little
the one with spokes from the center seems t>p but 10/15 gate is strong
the neo loki one is a joke. if you dont send out 2 scvs and get first scout and bbs in their main double nex is invincible. double command is actually semi viable, the rush distances are so long.
outsider is kinda weird, ive played it the least.
battle royal is fun but quite non standard so its hard to really predict balance on it

gas below cc mines significantly slower, on the left/top is pretty close to max efficiency
and on 3 you still have to get in quite far before you can reach it, at 6 on old medusa you literally just had to get up onto the high ground to reach it.

If only they hadn't had such inefficiency bugs.. you need to go further in to attack the gas at 6 and 10 as compared to 3 >___>

Idra, what about Central Plains and Shades of Twilight ? Since the werent approved by KESPA do you still get a chance to play them or only the other 4 maps ?
