- Any words after finally beating KTF in your 7 loss streak against them?
▲ We couldn't beat them recently, so I guess we were much more determined to beat them. Also the SKT team manager asked us to please beat this matchup so we tried even harder. We are very relieved we beat them.
- You were in a 5 streak loss against Lee Young Ho (Flash) (they still aren't including gomtv and calling it a 'private match', god knows why). BTW THIS ONE IS FULL OF IRONY
▲ I know I was losing alot. However I knew he never changes his style because he is stubborn. Last time on GOM after I won I was very relieved. When I played against him, I knew there was a very high chance I would show bad performance so I just played in a very relaxed fashion. But when I won, I earned a lot of confidence. He lost because he plays very safe at the beginning and tries to win the game at the later stages. Also he is stubborn, making him very predictable. (lol)
- Your first expo timing was very fast.
▲ I had 4 gates but flash had 1 factory so I had the ability to get a fast expo. Also today's build was a build that would be very effective against Young Ho. However the build was failing when I couldn't destroy enough tanks with 2 shuttles. I thought I was at an disadvantage.
- When did you think you won?
▲ He gave me too much time. When the mine daebak exploded in the center killing off Young Ho, I knew I had the advantage. Also when I got 3 o'clock and decreased his unit count I knew I won.
- You are #1 in proleague win rate
▲ Ah... I'm good (bisu laughs). I am getting results I thought I should be getting. I think my skills are getting better than before.
- You dropped the Starleague in a very depressing fashion.
▲ After losing game 1 I fell apart which probably led the result to game 2. If I had to blame on something I would like to say it was the map fault. These days you can't 1gate or you won't beat a zerg. That is why double nexus is the only viable strat against zerg, however tears of the moon has 2 rush entrances. Even though I prepared the best simcity possible (Translator's note: THAT IS A LIE BISU DON'T GIVE ME THAT SHIT) the zerglings came through. To block both entrance it takes too much resources and time.
- Do you have any plans for an All Kill during the 3rd round?
▲ In team battle it seems like people who are skilled have an advantage. I believe I am skilled enough so I am confident. Instead of telling people I will all-kill I will show everyone I can do all-kills.
- Any last words?
▲ I would like to thank everyone at SKT1 for practicing with me.

1st generation progamer and ceremony legend. There is a name that comes to mind when you hear this phrases. It is of course Jun Tae Gyu of OGN Sparkyz.
He has been a progamer for 8 years, since OGN Sparkyz was known as KOR. Starting from Janurary he has switched his position from a player to a coach.
While in his prime he reached a Starleague finals, but afterwards he became known best for his 2v2 teamplay skills. Perhaps it is because of his long history as a player that he hasn’t quite settled into his role as a coach.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Zeus_2.jpg)
An Interview with Jun Tae Gyu
- Since when did you plan on being a coach
▲ Actually, ever since the last league finished I’ve been acting as an assistant coach. To put it more clearly, I was in kind of an in-between position as a player and coach. I wasn’t sure which way to go, but with the help of some staff members I made the decision.
- What’s different that you’re now a coach?
▲ When I was in the middle position I tended to be more sympathetic to the player’s perspective. However now that I’m an official coach I’ve subconsciously become more calm and collected in my decision making. Looking at things from the viewpoint of a coach helps me look at things more rationally. I guess you could say my perspective has changed.
- Can you give us examples?
▲ In the past when I saw a player I would think “This player needs to do better…” but now I see it as “How can I help this player improve.” Previously I was a hyung (close, older male) who would advise them, but now I have a clear authority so I can give them instructions to do this or that. However this also means that I feel the burden of responsibility.
- I hear Coach Ju Jin Chul (Side_LeGenD) has treated you well
▲ I have learned a lot from him, so I feel that I will be following him a lot. I think it’s important to use him as a model, and then also I can bring in the “know-how” I gathered in my previous experience as a player.
- How were the reactions of the teammates?
▲ Since I was already acting as an assistant coach at the time it wasn’t that big of a deal.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Zeus_3.jpg)
- Do you hold any regrets about your history as a progamer?
▲ I feel great that I was able to do something I truly loved. Of course there is that sentiment of “if I had just practiced a bit more at that time I could have done better…” but I think what the future has in store is more important. The only thing I am truly regretful about is that I wasn’t able to show great results for my fans. My current fancafe (online fanclub) admin is still the same person from when I first started out as a progamer, so I am very thankful to them. Also, after I declared that I would be a coach many fans cheered me on. Since this is not the end, but rather a new beginning I hope that they would continue to cheer my on.
As a progamer, my greatest regret is not being able to win an individual league. I think at the time rather than effort, I tried to use my intelligence to win the game. If you play like that, then it is only a matter of time before you fall from greatness. I regret not trying harder at that point in time.
- Do you find it awkward to be a coach?
▲ There are still many people out there who don’t know I’m not a coach. When I go shopping or out to eat, many people recognize me but they always think I am still a progamer.
- I hear your lifestyle has changed a lot, too.
▲ Well, as I said before I was already helping out with the coaching staff, so it hasn’t changed too much. However, now that I have officially started working, there are a lot of new responsibilities. I tend to need a lot of rest at night, but my hours that I am able to sleep have decreased, unfortunately. In the practice room, I need to supervise them until the last player finishes so that increases work hours significantly.
- Who listens to you the best?
▲ Lee Seung Hoon (Chalrenge) listens to me the best. Ever since he joined the team he listened to me well. Of course, the person who doesn’t listen to me the most is Seung Hoon (haha). Back when we were both full players we had a lot of competition. But when I moved to the intermediary role, it was a bit distressing. I thought, “why didn’t I help him more at that point in time?” But even now I don’t think it’s too late.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Zeus_4.jpg)
- What do you think are the benefits of being a former-player turned coach?
▲ It is the obvious truth that players understand the game better than the coaches. However when players talk with each other, their perspective is very narrow. They are preoccupied with the thought of “I better not lose.” However as a coach I am able to put things into perspective. Most players don’t see the weaknesses in their playstyle, but rather think that they are using the most optimal builds. I think I will be able to help fix these issues.
- Are there any players that you want to pay special attention to?
▲ I think it is true that I pay closer attention to the protoss players. Lee Kyung Min (Horang2) and Cho Jae Geol (Tazza) are players that hardly got any playtime during 2008, but I want them to create a big impact on the scene. Most rookies develop their playstyle by modeling it off of their favorite player. When I ask Kyung Min “Why don’t you play standard” he replies “What is standard?” His play is very freestyle and he incorporates all the advice I give him very quickly.
Both Kyung Min and Jae Geol are both very confident so I don’t think that their nerves will be an issue when they play TV matches. A while ago, when preparing for a match against Park Ji Ho (Pusan) I stood behind him and he would do whatever I told him to do. That is extremely rare for a player to actually listen to what another person tells them to do. But he took my instructions and managed the game very effectively. I think that they are players you should be looking out for.
- A last word
▲ I want to hear people say “Because Sparkyz has Jun Tae Gyu their players are doing so well.” I want to provide the players with my know-how so that they can accomplish what I was not able to. If someone is a progamer on OGN Sparkyz, they will of course be a great player, but I want them to take the extra step to show their best to all the fans. I will help them do this.

New Face: OGN Sparkyz Lee Kyung Min “There is no ‘standard play’ to me”

As rookies are bursting onto the scene, a new protoss star has been born for OGN Sparkyz.
He is the same age and race as Cho Jae Geol (who received attention after beating Kim Taek Yong (Bisu).
Lee Kyung Min’s entrance is very flashy from the start. During the 2008 MSL Survivor Tournament Season 3 held in Decemeber, he defeated KTF’s “Ultimate Weapon” Lee Young Ho (Flash) and Woongjin’s “Virtuous Man” Kim Joon Yung (GGplay) to take 1st in his group. These were his first 2 official matches.
Against Lee Young Ho he used proxy gateways into fast dark templar, and against Kim Joon Yung he used a timing-rush zealot/archon build. Also, in his proleague debut he defeated MBCgame’s Park Ji Ho (Pusan) in a harassment-based game, showing off his impressive multitasking skills.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Horang2_2.jpg)
-A free spirit whose play is very reminiscent of Kang Min (Na_rA)
Lee Kyung Min first played Starcraft in 4th grade. Although they all started playing just for fun, Kyung Min kept losing to one of his friends. He was not able to stand it and decided to seriously improve. He ended up playing more frequently than his other friends, and he became more and more involved in playing Starcraft. This is how he discovered his will to become a progamer.
“I realized that I wanted to be a progamer after watching the DAUM Starleague where Kim Joon Yung won. After watching him coming back from 0-2 to win the serious and embracing his father really left a great impact on me. I think this is especially true because I upset my parents a lot, and my father in particular was opposed to me becoming a progamer. That scene is why those finals left such a deep impression on me.
Although he was touched by Kim Jun Yung’s victory, his race is Protoss. He started out as a Zerg user, but a close friend of his kept winning with Protoss, so he decided to switch as well. He has no regrets about his choice and even now feels that it was a good choice.
Although he is now a commentator, I received a lot of influence Kang Min sun-bae-nim’s (term of respect to refer to someone who debuted before you) playstyle when he was a progamer. I enjoyed copying this and that strategy of his, and I’m happy that I’ve developed my own style based on that.
”Generally ob-dra (Korean term for observer/dragoon) is considered the standard build for Protoss, but I don’t think this way. Truthfully, I think it’s difficult to call anything ‘standard’, but if I had to choose something that would be the closest thing to ‘standard’ for me, it would be sa-up-dark (range-upgraded dragoon/dark templar). It is easy to micro and manage dragoons, while dark templars are a fascinating unit.”
Lee Kyung Min dislikes being forced to fit a certain mold. When he practices he usually does whatever he wants to do. He fully understands that Starcraft is a strategy simulation game. And of course, like all other rookies his macro is strong as well.
“I’m sure all other progamers are the same, but when I first officially started as a progamer it was really difficult for me. But right now I am enjoying it more nad more. My skill level has increased a lot. My style is still the same, but my fundamentals have improved significantly. I’ve developed better hotkey usage. In the past if my strategy worked I would win but if it didn’t I would lose. But now I am also able to mix in management-style games. I’ve reached the point that if my strategy doesn’t work I can still recover and pull it to the mid-late game. I think that my televised games thus far have shown results that surpass my actual skill level right now. I definitely had luck on my side.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Horang2_3.jpg)
-A friend that cannot go without mention, Cho Jae Geol (Tazza)
OGN used to be a team that was notorious for its weak Protoss lineup. Thus fans are eagerly waiting to see what effect rookies like Lee Kyung Min will have. What are Kyung Min’s thoughts on this?
I think because of the evaluation that the Sparkyz Protoss is weak, Jae Geol and I have been receiving a lot of attention. Although it’s a good thing to be receiving attention, it’s also quite a burden. But what can you do? I hope that Jae Geol and I can both do well.
They are the same age and come from the same hometown. They won Elite School League together, and started their progaming careers together on OGN at the same time. Although they don’t admit it, they will most likely end up being each other’s strongest rival. But this is a great thing because it fosters improvement amongst such rookies as they practice in their house.
When asked what type of progamer he wants to be, Kyung Min replied “I want to be a player that has the psychological advantage. When an opponent meets me I want them to think ‘I have no clue what this player will do.’ Thus they will be forced to play overly safely.”
A Q&A session with Lee Kyung Min
- The meaning of your ID “Horang2” (Translator’s note: the 2 is pronounced “ee.” Horangee means tiger in Korean.)
▲ When I created this ID I was eating a lot of Frosted Flakes. I really loved eating it in middle school, but now I find it too sweet, haha. (Translator’s note: What a big LOL! TigerToss, TonyToss, CerealToss, the possibilities are endless!)
- What do you do when you have free time?
▲ I usually use it to nap. I also play this game called “MyStarcraft.” It’s a game related to Starcraft, and I found myself on there and tried to raise my stats as much as I could. Although I don’t play it regularly now I enjoyed it a lot.
- A progamer you want to become like
▲ Of course my #1 all-time would be Kang Min. Out of the currently active players, I want to learn Lee Jae Dong’s mind. I think that it is really impressive that even though he is at the top, he isn’t lazy and practices extremely hard.

Premiere Starcraft Rivalries
Translated by LosingID8
Translated by LosingID8
This is an article that will be old-hat to many long-time followers of progaming. However, I know that there are new people becoming interested in professional Starcraft and joining TeamLiquid every day. So to those that aren't familiar with the history of progaming, here are some of the more important rivalries that have existed in Starcraft.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Rivalries_1.jpg)
Lim-Jin-Rok (Lim Yo Hwan vs Hong Jin Ho) (Boxer vs Yellow) (33-28)
Named after the Lim and Jin from their names. This was a great rivalry between a terran player with such great skill that he was widely known as “The Emperor” and a zerg player with a refreshing playstyle known as the “Storm Zerg”. Because both had such great skill they met in the finals as well. However, Hong Jin Ho appears to have shown uncharacteristic weakness in individual league finals. Even now, many fans consider this THE premiere rivalry in Brood War. One of the most important series between them was the 2002 WCG Finals.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Rivalries_2.jpg)
Chun-Sa-Rok (Oh Young Jong vs Lee Yoon Yeol (Anytime vs Nada) (5-7)
While the 2006 Shinhan Starleague S2 was going on, the anime Death Note was extremely popular in South Korea. Oh Young Jong’s nickname is SaShin (Death god) and Lee Yoon Yeol’s is ChunJae Terran (Genius Terran). So when they met in the finals the rivalry ended up being called Chun-Sa-Rok. This was a highly touted match-up especially because Lee Yoon Yeol was attempting to claim the Golden Mouse. In the end, Lee Yoon Yeol ended up winning in the final set and won the Golden Mouse. Their most well-known series is the Shinhan Starleague S2 finals.
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Rivalries_3.jpg)
Sung Jun (The Holy War) (Ma Jae Yoon vs Kang Min) (Savior vs Nal_ra) (17-8)
At the time, going against Ma Jae Yoon as a protoss player meant certain defeat. In the MSL, Ma Jae Yoon looked as though he did not know how to lose, and fans even started calling him “Matler”. Protoss fans looked to Kang Min as their last hope. Even though the matchup is nearly a double-score and Kang Min never managed to beat Ma Jae Yoon in a series, whenever they would play fans would always get excited. See their match on Sin Peaks of Baekdu during the Pringles 2 MSL
![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/LosingID8/KNF_2009_01_25/Rivalries_4.jpg)
Taek-Bang-Rok (Song Byung Goo vs Kim Taek Yong) (Stork vs Bisu) (9-9)
These are the two players that started the new golden age of protoss. Song Byung Goo showed prowess in PvT, while Kim Taek Yong excelled in PvZ. Whenever they played each other it would be to determine who the #1 protoss is. During the EVER Starleague Ro8, Byung Goo went ahead in the series by winning 3-0, but recently Taek Yong has come back by winning 2 consecutive games. The reason why people enjoy watching their matches is because even though it is a PvP mirror matchup, their styles are different so it shows two opposite sides of protoss play. Byung Goo’s style is extremely safe and methodical, while Taek Yong’s is highly based upon harassment. Watch their Bo5 series in the GOMTV S2 MSL Finals.
Muh-Muh-Jeon (Lee Yoon Yeol vs Choi Yeon Sung) (Nada vs iloveoov) (9-20)
The name stems from Lee Yoon Yeol’s nickname Machine and Choi Yeon Sung’s nickname Muh-seum (Korean for servant). It is a matchup between the 2nd and 3rd bonjwas. Both of them want to play against each other until it is a Bo100. The score is nearly double with Choi Yeon Sung leading the way, but it continues to be a fan-favorite rivalry because of the name-value of the two players. Watch their games during IEF 2006.
Taek-Ma-Rok (Kim Taek Yong vs Ma Jae Yoon) (Bisu vs Savior) (12-2)
The word Taek-Ma-Rok is from a character in each of their names. On March 3rd, Kim Taek Yong became famous by defeating the 4th bonjwa Ma Jae Yoon in a 3-0 series. This is believed by many to have started Ma Jae Yoon’s slump. Afterwards during the IEF and WWI finals, Kim Taek Yong took them convincing manner and now he is considered to be a “chun-juk” (Korean term meaning an natural enemy you cannot defeat). Watch the GOMTV S1 MSL Finals.
Lee-Ssang-Rok (Lee Jae Dong vs Lee Young Ho) (Jaedong vs Flash) (10-7)
They both have the last name Lee, and Ssang means twin or double. They are considered the best of Zerg and Terran and they have both won an individual league and at a young age. The only thing that is a bit regretful is that these are not their best matchups, unlike Lim Jin Rok where it was the best TvZ vs the best ZvT. If you exclude unofficial KeSPA matches Lee Jae Dong is ahead by 5 wins. Watch the GOMTV Invitational S1 Finals.
Tu-Gwae-Rok (Park Sung Jun vs Choi Yeon Sung) (JulyZerg vs iloveoov) (13-20)
The name was created using Park Sung Jun’s nickname tu-shin (god of war) and Choi Yeon Sung’s nickname gwae-mool (monster). This is a matchup between Choi Yeon Sung who boasted a 70%+ win-rate in TvZ versus the hyper-aggressive playstyle of Park Sung Jun. This rivalry is extremely interesting to fans because they would only meet in very high-stakes games. See the WCG 2006 Grand Finals, and the ShinHan Bank 05-06 OSLs.

The SuperMarine Manual
Translated by SuperJongMan
Translated by SuperJongMan
Tsaa yeah. Ratatata~
CHAPTER ONE
A marine, a barracks, and a command center.
Ever since Oov showed the art of double cc on TV, the quest towards it's perfection began. Looking at the history fast CC builds - FacCC, 3raxCC, 2Rax pressure CC, 2rax 1RineCC, 0RaxCC - it's easy to see the trend is towards faster and faster CCs. Vs Zerg, the FE and macro style has become the new trend.
Let's examine the fastest two CC builds - 2rax 1 Rine CC and 0Rax CC.
2raxCC's expo seems the safest and most common option.
Since you can make marines from 2 rax, it affords additional safety (... however -_-;; )
0Rax CC, even though it's the fastest CC, the tech is slow and the lack of early units makes kekeke chogoling rushes and makes things like 2 evo hydra possible.
And so, while there may be an original 1rax 1rineCC, here is how Super Marines are made.
First off, if you run one rax constantly then make a CC, it's a little faster than 2raxCC, and slightly slower than 0raxCC. Get a fast academy, some scholarly firebats and well-learned medics and repel any zergling terror. 7-8 marines, medic, firebat, and the nat running smooth, nice ya?
The marine, barracks and command center begins something like this...
-The Build-
8 - Supply
9 - Scout
10 - Rax, 5-second worker cut,
11 - Supply
15 - Cut scvs, +CC +Marine +Gas
- Make Marines +Scvs +Acad
This is the build to grab your natural.
Upon reaching this point in the game, depending on the scouting your decisions will change.
1. 12 hatch / 3hatch
Vs 12 hatch 11pool - By the time he has 6 lings, you should have 4 marines.
***With 1 or 2 scvs and some micro, it is easy to neutralize.
At 10 ling timing, bat/medic comes out. Just go on to the next chapter.
2. 4 pool 7 pool, 9 pool, speed upgrade rush
Vs pool first and gas - Make 2 rax asap [!!!]
After the initial lings, 1 hatch lurker follow through is very common...
***So play as if you were playing off 1 base and follow through with a well timed hanbang(one-shot).
....and so the scvs worked and the new academy opened...
CHAPTER TWO
The Management After CC...
-The Build-
(Upon Finishing Acad)
Stim Up
2 Ebay @ ~200/150
Dual Ups
+2rax
Factory
-Scout/Scan for expos.
Get stim while running 1 rax.
You should slowly notice the economy picking up from the two bases.
When you are at about 250/150, send two SCVS out to construct dual Ebays.
When they complete, dual upgrade and add 2 rax.
Keep the one rax pumping and keep up supplies on your own.
While building the 2rax, get range, and you should have money left over.
Make your factory ASAP.
When the two rax are about 30% done is when the fact goes up.
Time to scouting~
1. I SEE A DEN!
***Marine/Medic deploy for containment!!!
While deploying, you must macro well. 1rax CC's econ picks up fast.
2. SPIYO~~
***Turret up, MM in defensive formation
Macro, and prepare yourself for the next step.
3. BOTH!?!?!
The villain has both techs! O, this is a little complicated!
You can try to read between hydra or muta by looking at the larva.
***First thing first, let's just deploy MM while using your 2scans to find out what's coming.
If hydra, stay out and pressure.
If Muta, come back in.
In this scenario, because the turret and 3rax are in play, even fast mutas won't hurt too much.
4. I scanned the den BUT A HATCH AT THE GAS MULTI!?!?!
***Build 2 bunkers at the nat choke while deploying units to pressure the Zerg expo.
After killing the hatchery, you can't have too much home insurance.
5. I scanned the spire BUT A HATCH AT THE GAS MULTI!?!?!
***Take about 5rines 1bat1med and use them as special forces.
Set them up outside and as soon as you see mutas coming in, send these out to kill the hatchery.
6- I scanned the den, the spire AND A HATCH AT THE GAS MULTI?!??!
Good chance this won't be seen. The den and spire takes away from hatchery mins. But the opponent coulda opened 3 hatch and be rich, so this scenario is mentioned.
***First off, the special forces are sent out like in the previous scenario. If you see zerglings trying to leak out from here or there, engage and buy time and harass. When the mutas come out, don't congregate into one ball, but still move the special forces squad out for hatch break.
- Transition -
As chapter two closes, the super marines come to save the day.
This is your hantiming. Send them out and now we have a third option tree.
The super marines are +1+1 hantiming marines.
Take as much adv of these guys as you can, and as we near the end of chapter two...
...you have the option of kicking up the rax count to 4.
The super marines knew it was time...
CHAPTER THREE
And They Declared War...!!!
-6rax with steady a fac/star support and winning with flexibility,
-6/7rax 0tank timing shot to the ultra-mobile two star SKterran,
-2 Fac power shot using tanks as central fighting pillars,
-"A MAN'S ESSENCE IS POWER" 5rax No vessel 3 tank chew up everything including swarm management.
1. 6rax 1fac 1star
- A brach recommended for those with great macro and good basic MMVessel control.
A not so small amount of mnm, a not so small amt of tank, and a not so small amt of vessels combine to make a large and effective force.
-Key point is the vessel and tanks must survive.
Support SVs thru mnm, Tanks with D matrix, Support your mnm by Irrad guard/defiler. It's also flexible enough to adopt to anything zerg does. However, only with high level of technical backing can you effectively play and win. Rather than irradiating lurks, save tanks with D or snipe guard/defilers instead. You have tanks and upgraded mnm for -_-;; lurkers.
This is a very tricky/difficult management for zerg to answer to but a difficult one to execute as well.
2. After hantiming, 8rax 2star, SKTerran.
This too is a high level terran management. Using well upgraded MM action and mass SV, try to starve the zerg and constantly hit and run to carve up the zerg. It is the most mobile management. However, the mechanics required behind this, especially since it becomes a war of attrition.. is... -_-;;
-Ling Lurker Defiler/Guardian using zergs get raped. Snipe defilers, pull away from it's dying dark swarm, o, there's the end of that fight! You don't have to save tanks or anything. It's mobility is chief. Seriously, chief. Irradiate away~
-And then for MMVes vs Hydra lurker, the flying swarms, and the plague, the swarm you can move out of the fight, but the plague is truly.. durrr scary. The marine one-shotting hydras, the vessel clumps being plagued and one shotted. Plague is a serious threat to mm. You could get easily get pushed to your main this way. This is the rat poison to SK.
3. After hantiming, 2fact 6rax Mass Tank and Vessel as detector
This strat can end games the fastest, but you will cut yourself if you fail. If the villian seems to be going Greater Spire, stopping tanks and start SVs. You can re-up tank production anytime since there are 2fact. The choice for vessel over wraiths is because the wraith cannot support the main force after the guardians are neutralized. getting a vessel before its too late is recommended.
-Many tanks, Many MM, Some SVs.... are used to grab a line and fight from there.
If you are lucky you can even snipe defilers casting swarm, splash damage the swarm considerably and then win the fight. Point is scouting. Scan a lot and when your senses tingle guardian, get SVs. It has enough power to fight with dark swarmed lurkerling or Hydralurk.
-Using good tank placement, make a strong center line. With a good center line, it is possible to expo at same time the zerg does.
It is recommended for those with spider senses for guardian timing.
4. A MAN'S ESSENCE IS POWER, 3FACT... 5RAX!!! and a starport for good form.
After hantiming attack, if you see 2/3 chamber and he succeeded his 3 gas hold, is a filthy fat stinkin rich zerg and looks to be wanting to power through, or if you still haven't seen a spire yet... use this! THE ESSENCE OF MAN.
After hanta attack and proper analysis, get 5rax, shut down the starport and get 3 facts asap. Tanks will gather at an astronomical rate. Level things, move on.
When using this and you run into ground-only zerg, you will literally melt them. About 3 groups of mnm and 2 groups of tanks will melt everything. Every time the tanks fire, it is equivalent of 2 nukes falling at once. It just chews up dark swarm. Vessels aren't needed and 2 scans are plenty. Is it because the lurkers disappear trying to go underground?
Super Marines spray fields of bullets and lure the zerg in, then the tanks clear everything. It's a surprising attack to be victim of.
If the villain can mass air units, matters become complicated.
If guardians are about to take to the skies, right under the idle starport, make 1-2 more and stop tanks to produce wraiths. Since we didn't get vessel, you should have about 1.5 groups of tanks ya?
***Grab a location somewhere and linger around and then try to catch them with wraiths. With 2 fact, vessels show immediate results but this is different since we already have 2 groups of tanks...
If the wraiths couldn't get all the guardians..
You gotta rely on the super marines. Since units are already towards the center, the zerg won't hit until the tanks are cleared. Gather wraiths til you can kill guards in 2 salvos, and hold with marines til. Since the guards are no up, marines can take 3-4 hits depending on heal. It is truly the essence of man, a 3/4gas zerg will charge with hydralurk and ultras...
And conflict will last 15 seconds. Just 15 seconds. It will resolve itself in 15 seconds.
For a zerg intent on such macro, 3 fact is the way to go.
Esssence of Man.
And... ... for the zerg management not mentioned here, may you solve those on your own -_-;;
Super Marines -_-;; fuck yeah, I went there.

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=wcx_C3YD8e0
On the program “Star 7224”
Boxer: I have watched this show only once. I just know it’s something about riding in a car together.
TheMarine: Hmm a lot of progamers have been in here lately, including Taek Yong. (Bisu)
Boxer: Is it filming right now?
TheMarine: Yeah it’s running right now.
Boxer: Woah I get to be on a show that Taek Yong was on?
TheMarine: (Laughs) Young Ho - aka FlaSh - was on the most recent one. But now that you are back, it’s of course your turn.
Coming back home
Boxer: Ahh I have finally become a normal citizen now.
TheMarine: Has it hit you yet?
Boxer: Once I put the SKT uniform on I once again felt like I am actually back home. At first there was some confusion within myself because I kept on feeling like I needed to back. You know, I kept on thinking I would get in trouble for running away.
TheMarine: Well, the uniform looks a little awkward on you but at the same it looks really good on you.
Boxer: The quality is amazing!
TheMarine: Did you sleep well for the first time in a while?
Boxer: Mmm yeah, and I also had a hard time digesting all the delicious food I ate for the past couple days.
TheMarine: To be honest I have been on this with several other gamers, but it just feels different with you here. Subtitle - *The unknown force of Boxer*
Miscellaneous Chatting
TheMarine: You have talked a lot about your aspirations and plans regarding gaming, but I want to know more about your daily life and the time you spent in Air Force. Oh and not to pressure you or anything but there’s a tradition on this show. At the end, everyone has sang a song.
Boxer: (Laughs) Why did you have to tell me after I hopped on?
TheMarine: Come on, I know you have a couple songs memorized. Do you know a couple mainstream songs? What are your favorites?
Boxer: I just came back from the military, I don’t know anything! I mean I have listened to a couple like Son Dam Bi - Crazy or Rain - Rainism, but I haven’t sang either of them.
TheMarine: Don’t worry, I will teach you.
On Yelllow/CaSy/Anytime joining Air Force
Boxer: When Yellow first arrives, they are making him do a dance. Kind of like an initiation…show him what military is all about. Also include Casy and Anytime in some way too. But it’s not absolutely not a bad thing at all - it's a nice welcoming.
TheMarine: I am somewhat worried for him, but I think it will work out well.
Boxer: Military may be a little hard at first, but once he gets used to it a bit he will be fine.
TheMarine: How do you feel about Casy?
Boxer: He’s a gregarious guy, but that probably won’t help him much. Military is about sucking up…you gotta look good in front of the higher guys.

When MuMyung Gets Out of Military Service...
Boxer: I really think we should have a special program where we can invite all the people who have recently left the military. Such as H.O.T-Forever, MuMyung, and myself. I think it would be really funny.
TheMarine: Yes, that sounds really fun.
Boxer: Actually the reason why I want this to happen is because MuMyung probably has A LOT to say. Plus since this would be a televised thing, him and H.O.T-Forever wouldn't be able to fight.
TheMarine: Oh that's really great. We would get paid for just sitting there and doing nothing.
Boxer: We would get paid? OH YEAH THIS ISN'T THE MILITARY ANYMORE!
TheMarine: Yeah and we could make it sort of a reconcilitary thing, where they can get back on good terms with each other. And of course we would just sit back and watch.
H.O.T-Forever vs MuMyung
Boxer: Whenever they'd fight with each other they would always use me as an observer. They would argue their cases and ask me which one of them was in the wrong. But in my eyes they were the same. I had a really difficult time because of those two.
Anti-Kim Jung Min (TheMarine)
Boxer: You know, for us, ACE, it's really tough as it is but...
TheMarine: Oh no I know what's coming. Ok it's time for me to get cussed out.
Boxer: You... you were too... how do I say this.
TheMarine: Yes, if I saw something bad I would say it was bad.
Boxer: No, if you saw something bad you would overemphasize how bad it was. Rather than "Are they able to practice enough" you would say "Why don't they practice?", like that.
TheMarine: No no I didn't say anything like that.
Boxer: "DID THEY EVEN PRACTICE?"
TheMarine: No no no...
Boxer: At times like that it really hurt. I thought if anyone else, you would be supportive and help us out. Especially since you know our predicament.
TheMarine: TO VIEWERS! I have to let you know how much I supported and cheered on ACE!
Boxer/TheMarine: AIDFUYKJWNEGKJDFIUOIQEGD (lol they are talking over each other like crazy)
TheMarine: I do remember one time, Yo-Hwan hyung came up to me after a match and said "you're doing too much. Go lightly. It's hard for us, too." But you know it wasn't just me saying those things. Hoon-hyung (old SKT coach, now OGN proleague commentator) said those things too!
Boxer: Hoon-hyung is saying those things because he's following your lead! You're his senior in commentating!
TheMarine: Oh hahaha, I guess that's true...
Boxer: But you know it wasn't just him who said mean things about us, all of you guys out there said bad things too! Please tone it down, because it's really hard for us. Please send words of encouragement!
Air Force ACE Internal Ranking Tournament
TheMarine: So you know that ACE recently brought in 3 new recruits!
Boxer: Yeah the sad thing is that when they had a ranking tournament. 1st place Anytime, 2nd place Casy, 3rd place Reach.
TheMarine: You know it's really unfortunate. Reach seems to do really well during practice but he doesn't show it on TV.
Boxer: Yeah it's because he's really nervous. He's been playing 2v2 for too long.
Weaknesses of ACE:
Boxer: All teams don't play as well on TV as they do at home when they practice, but I really think that the disparity is the extreme in the case of ACE. Even normally, there is a definitely skill gap between us and other teams. But when we go out to play a match we do even worse than normal. Even to the point where we don't even know what happened.
It's especially bad when we had to face SKT. I had no practice partners. I really had no one to play with so I called up the SKT coaching staff and asked if I could play with the C-team.
"Yeonsung-ah, Yongwook-ah, you guys aren't practicing with the C-team, right? I know you aren't."
"Yeah we aren't, why hyung?"
"Is it OK if i practice with them, then?"
But Yeonsung replies "Oh come hyung I can't do that~" and then he cuts me off. Oh, so sad T_T.
The Return of the Emperor
TheMarine: When do you think you'll play for SKT? The 3rd round starts on Jan 17th.
Boxer: Well it depends on how quickly I can get my skill back. Hopefully I can play in the 3rd round. It's not as if I can just get on the roster because I want to. My skill has to back it up.
ACE Practice Time
TheMarine: I hear that you guys didn't have much practice time. It must have been hard to get as much practice as you needed. How did you practice efficiently?
Boxer: Actually we do have sufficient practice time. It's just that we have noone to practice with. T_T

Boxer on proleague
TheMarine: But because of the rules there's something interesting that has come about. It has really shown that T1's zerg line is really weak, but T1's protoss are really strong. So it creates an issue--
Boxer: That's an issue that doesn't need to exist
TheMarine: Haha, but it makes each team's color different from others which is good.
Boxer has a girlfriend!
TheMarine: Well at least you're out of the army while you're still in your 20s! (this interview was done 7 days before the new year).
Boxer: Yeah I'm glad that I'm able to spend Christmas and the New Year's as a regular citizen.
TheMarine: Oh speaking of Christmas! There's a question that I wanted to ask you... but it might be kind of senstive.
Boxer: Sensitive issue? I don't like those questions, haha.
TheMarine: Ah but you've already talked about it in your interview the other day...
Boxer: All I said was yes/no. I don't want to go any further.
TheMarine: Ah hah! I didn't even say anything and you already know what I'm talking about.
Boxer and H.O.T-Forever
TheMarine: You know when Kang Do Kyung (H.O.T-Forever) got out of the army he said that he got hit by you a lot.
Boxer: NO NO that's not true! When someone is leaving the Air Force, all the remaining soldiers stand in two lines, and the person has to run in between them, whether it be running, walking, crawling, whatever. And as they go by the people standing on the sides can kick them, knee them, do whatever. So he came by. So I grabbed him and I told him "hehe I have a lot of reasons to be discontent with you" and then we both fell down. But he fell on his back instead of falling forward, so he could see who was hitting him. So everyone else was too afraid to hit him. So basically I look like an idiot, while everyone else is taking care of their image. So he ended up just staring at me, lol.
Boxer: There was another incident that made me dislike him...

Emperor’s birthday beatings
Boxer: My teammates and I come in after a dinner party and they lay down a bed cover, demanding that I lie down for my b-day beating. I was appalled since the policy had never existed before then. I reluctantly give in but they got way to serious after the drinks and started stomping on me mercilessly. I thought I was going to die. Change of location to where I used to live when I first joined the army. HOT-forever comes over and lays down the bed sheet AGAIN and forcibly gets me down for more birthday beatings. HOT covers me up with another bed sheet and starts stomping on me. I see his foot through the cracks. Then while he was stomping, both his feet disappeared. This guy jumped and stomped me with both feet. I was speechless *blood pressure rising*
Boxer stim pack mode!
Boxer: That’s not the end. Let me say something: I thought, “Ok it was my birthday so I’ll just take it. I can get my revenge on his birthday. On his birthday, the birthday beating policy ended and HOT walked away without a single beating.
TheMarine: Here are some questions submitted by fans. If nominated, they can get a gift certificate.
Boxer: I don’t get anything?
TheMarine: Well, you… you I’m not that sure about.
Question: “Since your return to SKT, what has changed about the younger teammates?”
TheMarine: What kind of influence do you think you have on them? You’re [image is] rather… strong
Boxer: I’m a little odd. I don’t know if the kids find it hard but the older ones should know. I’m not the type to forcibly tell people to do this and that. I try to go with the situation and try to stick together. I’m not sure what the coach is thinking exactly. I will make the best decisions according to his will. That’s what I think … *reaches for the question* The kids will…
TheMarine: Like having an influence and whatnot (caption: Yo-Hwan hyung~ Let’s focus on the question)
Boxer: Their personalities or their game style… well, their game styles can change. Personalities or (TheMarine caption: Yo-Hwan hyung~ Your answer is too long..) well… they’re not trying to change… I have no idea what I’m talking about haha. The question is too hard.
TheMarine: (talking to the crew) Ah, no, we all understood right? Right? (caption: He’s going to be ticked off). That person might be hurt. Ahh, this question’s pretty good: “What female celebrity is your type?”
Boxer: Some time ago, I said Kim XX. I didn’t mean it like *pant pant* *drool*. But the interview went out like that. It was very simple… “it would be this person”. I figured I’d better say someone that everyone would like. So I said Kim XX, right?
TheMarine: Kim Tae-Hee?
Boxer: No, I said Kim Sa-Rang. But what kind of!!!!! It’s practically like… *sigh*
TheMarine: Alright, alright. Let’s keep your blood pressure down a little today (caption: Many stim pack triggers today!)
Question: Yellow is going to the army, aren’t you disappointed?
Boxer: This question, I answered yesterday or the day before
TheMarine: You already answered it? *puts it away*
Boxer: *grabbing the question back* I can answer it again. I hope that Jin-Ho gets his act together. So I can get some motivation by watching him. If he’s going to work hard, he needs to go through some harsh army experience. An army is something that if you don’t get aligned properly, you will suffer. Because of that, I asked for a lot. I asked the guys to demand Jin-Ho to do the Hong dance as soon as he gets there. I told them to show him who the seniors are.
TheMarine: Yeah, Jin-Ho is kind of a free man. He has a bit of that image. It must be good to get practice at Ace but it will be very hard to adjust to the different style initially.
Boxer: I’m going to have a drink with Reach soon. We’ll talk about how to cook Jin-Ho. I’m going to have another talk with him. (caption: Was I too harsh?) To Yellow’s fans, I’m saying this for his own good! In the army, this is the way to show that I care about him. This is all for Yellow, so PLEASE don’t see me as a weird person! This is all for Jin-Ho. It’s coming from my heart.
TheMarine: Ok, ok. See, all the questions were so tough. “Pro gaming must mean you don’t get to see a lot of women” but he sees them. “When was your first kiss, and where do you look at women when you first see them?” Don’t lie!
Part 5 by Infinity21
+ Show Spoiler [Youtube Video 5] +
Boxer: ;;; Kiss… I didn’t even go out with a girl until I was 20. Even in meetings my face used to become red. So when I became 20, I started going out with a girl that I met at an internet café. She was into games, not StarCraft, but some other game. As we’re seeing each other – we live pretty close – I’d take her home and…
TheMarine: Oh man, hold up.
Boxer: We just kissed! Back then, I was pure unlike the current Jung-Min. So we had our first kiss but we were so bad that it was embarrassing.
TheMarine: See, these kinds of questions lifts up the mood. Where do you first when you meet a woman?
Boxer: For sure, in my early 20s, I looked at the face. Everything else was fine as long as she looked pretty. But! It’s not just me, every other man will agree with this. Past your mid 20s, you start looking lower. *TheMarine stops him* At this point, the audience should know what I mean.
*Caption: If you get it, SAY~HO!!*
TheMarine: Man, what are we, two adult males, talking about? We need to bring a female guest.
Boxer: These questions are R-rated.
TheMarine: That’s right. Yo-Hwan hyung watches that stuff a bit. He watches that a lot. *Caption: And you? Keke* *looks at question* Oh, this question’s a little odd: “In Ace, after losing a game, what excuse did you make to your teammates?”
Boxer: Rather than excuses, I was sorry that I couldn’t win. We felt sorry that we couldn’t win games for the team. In order to escape that feeling, we practiced as soon as we got back, late into the night.
TheMarine: You never really went on losing streaks before going into the army, and neither did the other Ace members. What was it like to experience that?
Boxer: I feel like I tasted every bitter thing in the world. At one point, I didn’t even want to go out. I wanted to take a breath and get back into the game but I had to keep playing because there were no substitutes. I wanted to pan out all the possible scenarios and play confidently but I couldn’t do it.
TheMarine: Is there somewhere you’d like to travel? You’re a normal citizen now. So where would you like to go?
Boxer: All my clothes are 2-3 years old now. I want to go to somewhere like Macau where there’s a casino or Hong Kong where I can buy lots of clothes for cheap, like an outlet? But it’s unrealistic since I’m broke so I’ll stay here and get good results.
TheMarine: Yeah, being a pro gamer in his 30s like you always used to way. Well, you’re not 30 yet. There’s a week left, right?
Boxer: Yeah, 1 week to go before I’m in my 30s.
TheMarine: 1 week before his 30s. I still have a LOT of time. We talked about this so much. It asks: “I hear there have been a lot of episodes with HOT coach?”
Boxer: I should have gone to the press. “Coach Kang attacked by a stranger on the 22nd” and right above “The emperor of Terran, Lim Yo-Hwan returns from the army on the 21st”
TheMarine: We should have both of you in the van.
Boxer: The car won’t go. It’ll all be broken before we start.
TheMarine: We haven’t had a question like this: “Who didn’t listen to you the most in the army?”
Boxer: This already came up. Who do you think it is?
TheMarine: MuMyung *Caption: Bingo~!*
Boxer: This guy listens well sometimes but other times he really doesn’t listen. It drives me nuts.
TheMarine: Oh, and one thing here: The return of the emperor – congratulations *Boxer swipes the last question board* Oh come on, this is the highlight. We did all this tonight for this question. 7224’s unavoidable corner, singing!
Boxer: *cough* Ah, I have a cold… *cough* Maybe I’ll do it with my face covered?
TheMarine: Just tell me the title, I’ll sing with you. The viewers won’t like it but-
Boxer: I sang so much during my birthday party…
TheMarine: We didn’t get to see it. Many OGN viewers didn’t get to see it.
Boxer: Already sad love.
