----

Below is a one-on-one conversation with Hero Reach.

Q: Finally got a win.
A: Yes, this time has had many failures and felt very bad, so the pressure was very high. I felt this pressure prevented me from showing my true ability. This time, although my opponent was very strong, but I tried to not let the pressure hold me down, completely concentrating on this set, so I was able to win.

Q: The win was against number one ranked Stork.
A: To be honest, given my current condition, I didn’t hope for a two-kill or three-kill. I concentrated all my effort on the first set without thinking about the second set.
Anytime told me that I should still prepare a little for the 2nd set, but I put all my energy in the set with Stork.
Probably many people believe that my win was only an accident, but I believe that putting all my effort into preparing for a single set, I think I will be able to achieve victory.

Q: This match is ACE’s first victory since you joined.
Q: After (basic?) training, the three new members felt very welcome, but we were not able to get a win. In our heart, we felt we had to win no matter what. When losing a match, makes us feel very sorry to the fans, our teammates, and coach. Actually at this time, I still should not be happy yet. However, I really feel very happy; it has been several years since I have felt this kind of emotion.

Q: Today, you were able to show very good play.
A: Probably because I was so concentrated that I was able to show a good result. Because I lost many games during practice, I was constantly thinking about this. Also, I believed Stork would play conservatively, like he wanted me to show my strategy (the article says“ShowHand”) but he found that I had fast expanded and planned shuttle play. Without pressure, my control was very good.

Q: It has been 787 days single your last personal victory.
A: Because of my continued losses, I felt very uncomfortable. Today, I saw a news report about me, I was very mad at myself, many fans also left. (I think the translated article may have reversed this).
To those determined fans who refused to give up on me, I will not give up, I will work harder to show better results in order to show my gratitude. Thank you.

Q: Today’s win will be very helpful for the future.
A: I will continue practice hard like this time, without thinking thoughts like “I can’t beat him”. There should be no problem. I think I’ll be fine as long I don’t lack confidence. There is still a little less than two years’ time, I believe that during this time I will be able to accomplish what I haven’t been able to before.

Q: Let’s talk about future matches.
A: In a little bit, the new members will arrive. The competition during practice will be stronger. However, I don’t know why, but older players will be more nervous than newer player during broadcasted games. Even losing often, I hope to not lose hope. We will work hard and we hope that our fans will continue to support us.

Q: Any last thoughts?
A: I would like to thank the older players for their help during practice. I would also like to thank the younger players of KTF and finally thank Anytime.

Hmm, I wonder if this means ACE will be leading out with Reach more often? Otherwise it seems it would be hard to really focus on one set since you wouldn't know for sure who you'd be playing against.
