I hardly play TvT because its so (pardon my french) fucking boring!
Although to make things abit more exciting, go fast wraiths. It'll work against noobs, and maybe 1/40 games=)

TvT isn't simply about macro. It really comes down to map control. Positioning your tanks and turrets right is so important that it'll often lose the game if you don't.

Watch Oddysay reps.

set up tanks outside of his base and turrets around his entire base with tanks. He can't get past turrets with d ships, and when he drops, your tanks will blow him up.

Loses to: BC Rush, def. matrix d ships, drop before your turrets are set up.

the cost of building turrets all around is way too much, and if u build just 1 per zone he can easily get away with dropships

The point of the turrets isn't to kill everything that he sends out. The point is that if he makes a mistake he might pay for it, and if he doesn't you know where he is going with what.

if you're playin vs someone who's gonna "make that mistake", as suggested earlier in this thread, just go 2 port wraiths

and in case you aren't, it wont be such a great help knowing where 3 full dropships are coming at you from, since you wont have any units to stop them cause you've wasted all your money on those turrets and blockade of tanks
of course, u could send those tanks back but then the entire strategy goes down the toilet

-have a good opening strat: proxi, gol drop, blockade, etc.
-drops(lots of drops)
-dropping main base > dropping expo.
-expand like mad and ALWAYS defend them.
-ups ups and more ups!

Sigh.
He who sieges first unseiges last.

In other words, in TvT, an inferior number of tanks in siege with proper vision can handle a superior number of units, so long as you're smart enough to target his tanks first. TvT is the one matchup I'm actually fairly good at.

Lol.. That is funny response. Looks very similar to the one Rekrul made on my PvZ strat. Good job on trying to play off his joke as if it was your own.

Speaking of Rekrul, I am about 20-1 with that strategy, and the only person I ever lost to with it, was Rekrul. I had the entire map sealed off but I couldn't kill his island nat, so before I could expand and mass, he BC rushed me off of 3 bases. About 0.1% of the people who I use this strat on, have enough intelligence to counter with BC rush knowing that drops won't work.

This led me to believe that Rekrul had either seen the strategy before, or he is just a genius. I hope it's the first one.

Indeed. A few turrets forces him to unload his tanks right in the range of my sieged tanks waiting to blow them up. You won't win that unless you outnumber very very greatly

well tvt is a very entertaining and complex matchup when not played really gay. i.e. Mcnasty style - taking your expansion taking island then going bc's. But even then it can still be enjoyable. TvT to me seems to be one of the few matchups that koreans dont seem unstoppable at (aside from the top players such as nada, boxer etc.) For example i think any of the top tier t players in the US can play tvt wise well with korean terrans who get quite a high gamei rating or even some lower tier pros, this to me is because tvt is more of a thinking matchup rather than intense micro and speed demanding matchup. To help you out with tvt there are quite an amount of builds you can use. TvT builds that are popular now seem to be the 2 fact gol no port to exp which nada used quite often in wgt/wsl. You really need to just think about what you are doing and why, the only real microing you do tvt is targeting with tanks. TvT could be compared to chess, for those of you who think it is boring you are either not terran players or suck tvt (although it can be boring to watch sometimes but is quite fun to play)
How do you go from where you are to where you want to be? I think you have to have an enthusiasm for life. You have to have a dream, a goal and you have to be willing to work for it. Jim Valvano
