You must use ICCUP's Anti-Hack Launcher for every game.
Join the TeamLiquid StarLeague team here. You must send a join request within 24 hours of playing your first game.
You can feel free to play whoever you want (not just other TSL players) as long as you use the anti-hack launcher. You can also reset as many times as you wish. Complaints will be handled through the normal iCCup complaint system.
You can use any map in the ICCUP map pack, but if you want to play other TSL players, the default channel is "TSL Ladder" and if that becomes full, "TSL Ladder2" etc.
***NEW ANNOUNCEMENT*** 04/02/08 If you are playing in the TSL, you must have the auto-save replay option of the ICCUP launcher turned on. We reserve the right to request replays from any player at the end of the tournament for abuse / hack verification reasons.
Announcement 03/31/08 This is regarding playing tournaments on ICCUP from your TSL account and gaining points for placement finishes. This is prohibited. Do not play tournaments with your TSL account. The points gained will be deducted and you may even be penalized if you continue to play in them.
No smurf accounts You must create an account with your known ID in it. Do not take this request lightly. If we find out you have been smurfing in any way, you will be disqualified. If you are worried about which ID you should use or whether this rule applies to you, ask Manifesto7 via private message.
Since all accounts must be new, we recommend gamers use a TSL- tag with their name. Ex. TSL-Nony, TSL-FakeSteve. If you find someone else using your known name, PM Mani.
If you feel that not smurfing gives you an unfair disadvantage, you must appeal to Mani. We will then give you a predetermined smurf name. Failure to do this will lead to disqualification.
If you want to change names, you must inform us.
No exceptions.
You MUST create a new account and sign up to the TSL team. No old accounts.
No transferring of stats.
No hacking or abusing. Again, all ladder games must be played with ICCUP's anti-hack launcher. The question on everyone's mind is "will previous hackers or abusers be allowed to play?" There will be no outright ban on previous hackers or abusers.
No multiple or shared accounts.
No Korean IP addresses.
No letting others play on your account.
Penalties for violating rules include disqualification, ban from all future TSLs/TL.net events, ban from TL.net, and death.
Players must check in 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start
If a player has not arrived within 30 minutes his/her position will be replaced or W/O given
Co-operate with the referees and remain mannered at all times
Any player playing in LDT must be serious about competing in TSL
Players must inform staff which race they will be using To clarify, the top 48 players will be contacted by TSL Staff confirming various details. One of those will be asking which race you will be using. You may be as specific as you want. For example you may specify that you will be playing "Random" against all except against Terran, where you will pick Protoss. Or you may be even more specific where you may say that you will be playing "Zerg" against everyone except for Nony where you will pick Terran.
Any changes to this must be made one week in advance to allow all players to be knowledgeable about the change.
All official games must be made by a referee In the event that lag issues arise from the referee being in the game (e.g. router conflict) it is possible to arrange to play without the referee if reps are given to the ref after the game and the referee agrees to let you play without his presence
The only messaging allowed in game is a message of surrender or pause request Acceptable forms of resignation are gg, gg yo, good game and similar. Once the player has conceded the game the player must leave the game. This means that you cannot continue to play for another minute once you have surrendered. Note that once you surrender the game is officially over.
To pause the game, the player requesting the pause must type "pp" Once the game is paused the player must explain his/her reason for requesting a pause (e.g. illegal bug use spotted, needing to use the toilet).
Failure to comply with any of the above rules will result in a warning. For a second offense, it is at the referee discretion as to how to punish the offender. This could be as severe as forfeit of the bo3.
In the event of lag appropriate action will be taken by the referee
In the event of router conflict appropriate action will be taken by the referee
In the event of a disconnect appropriate action will be taken by the referee
Any player caught using any form of cheating will be banned from TSL and all future TL events
The following bugs are legal for use in LDT games:
- Observer over turret - Units pressed through - Drops to defuse mines - Mineral walk - Hold lurker - Larvae Move
The following bugs are illegal for use in LDT:
- Cargo glitch - Flying drones and templars - Terran sliding buildings - A bug which allows your units to remain stacked while moving/attacking - Allied mines
Using an illegal bug will result in an instant forfeit of the game in which the bug use occurred. Any other bugs that occur in game must be brought to the attention of the referee by the player requesting a pause then explaining his/her concern.
No releasing of replays Releasing LDT replays will result in a disqualification from TSL, or the following TSL if already eliminated.
Winning players should be prepared for an interview
Inform referees immediately of future timetable clashes
Players must remain mannered at all times Profanity and bad manner are unacceptable and can be punished with penalties up to a disqualification.
Players must check in an hour before the scheduled start
Any changes to the race(s) you specified in the LDT confirmation post must be made one week in advance

._., the stacked units refer specifically to ground units. Stacking air units is not considered a bug. Stageleft, unit stack is against the rules at all times.

So manner pylons are legal?

You can play whoever you want to play, whether they are part of TSL or not. You also do not have to play on the prescribed maps, although these maps will be MOTW, so it is recommended that you do.

Just to clarify Daigomi:
In PvZ, if I'm 4 pooled, I'm not allowed to defend by clipping my probes through the zerglings, attacking them as I go through them.
The best example of what I could find was Tempest vs Pure. http://teamliquid.net/tlpd/games/7877_Pure_vs_Tempest/vod The probe defend Pure does at the end (~7:10) where (I think) he tells his probes to mine somewhere else and attacks while they are on top of the zeals.
The 5 pool that Lux bisu didn't really do any stacking. It was pimp defense though, and but I think that lux avoided going between the geyser and the main b/c of the probe stacky thing.
|
Nonono, peon stacking is fine. It's the bug involving a geyser and shift-click, which allows you to execute normal move and attack commands without unstacking, that's illegal.
|
Umk, thanks for clarifying SonuvBob.

Basically you can't make giant stacks of super-zerglings or super-peons or super-hydralisks that can move around the map and deal stacked damage.

If you are not sure about whether or not unit stacking is disallowed, then don't worry about it. They are referring to a very specific bug that you wouldn't be doing if you didn't already know it was of questionable morality.

these rules are pretty much a carbon copy of the OSL rules, from observer stalling to pp to no chat and things like that...so the rules should be pretty natural for everyone

I haven't seen anyone ask this yet, but can a player just go random the whole tourney? Or do you have to pick a race? Personally I think having people pick would be more interesting for viewers

For the actual Qualifiers/TSL, you must announce your race [or lack of race; random] for each game at least 1 week beforehand if it differs from your main.
