Hello everyone,
We’ll be bringing the PTR service down for maintenance today in order to bring the following changes to the Test Realm:
PTR General
We heard your concerns that players might (and did!) use images of units, such as Banelings and Widow Mines, to mask their clan decals. We agree that this could be confusing or distracting to other players during a match and, as a result, we’re making the following change to clan decals:
Extension Mods
As we mentioned in our recent Multiplayer Ladder Situation Report, we’ll be changing how ladder league boundaries are determined around the time we release Patch 2.1. With today’s PTR update, we’re going to reset league boundaries on the Test Realm in order to help them more closely match our intended values. Those of you playing in the PTR may not immediately notice the impact of this boundary reset due to the much lower player population found on the Test Realm, but we want to start implementing this change now before we bring it to the live service with the patch.
Thank you very much!
We’ll be bringing the PTR service down for maintenance today in order to bring the following changes to the Test Realm:
PTR General
- The Patch 2.1 Public Test Realm now supports Mac OS and Mac users should now be able to install and access the PTR immediately following today’s update.
We heard your concerns that players might (and did!) use images of units, such as Banelings and Widow Mines, to mask their clan decals. We agree that this could be confusing or distracting to other players during a match and, as a result, we’re making the following change to clan decals:
- Clan decals now float above town hall structures in-game and no longer display on the terrain.
Extension Mods
- Extension mods can now depend on the LibertyMulti and SwarmMulti mods, which will allow players to modify the latest balance data in their extension mods.
- Maps and mods can now depend on the latest version published by another account and are no longer required to depend on a specific version of the mod published by others.
- Implemented a default ID for observers.
- These changes also apply to Extension Mods in addition to map making in general.
