Ladies and Gentlemen,
I've noticed the community is much more creative than official representatives of Blizzard, teams and other organizations. While pros are training hard, trying to earn more money and playing with serious faces, all I want is entertainment and a good laugh.
Remember the "All Stars" GSTL match? That kind of tournament I'm looking for!
Let's think out some non-conventional rules, ridiculous constraints and absurd restrictions! Let's hope some BIG company (GomTV?) will read this thread and make it real!
I'll kick off the things to make clear what I'm expecting from you:
Title: The "secret" Tournament / The "ladder" Tournament
Specifications: Online, Single (or double - doesn't matter) elimination, Bo1/3/5/7
Demand: All players should use smurf accounts (barcodes preferably)
The idea: the players do not know their opponents, they know only the race they are playing against. They also do not know their bracket. The casters do not know the players either. They refer to players as, for example, "Blue terran" or make up the nicknames for their convenience. The tournament is streamed after the whole event has passed. Can't decide on the last rule: the players are revealed after the tournament or during the streaming the games.
Weak spot: We ask the players not to discuss the tournament between themselves and just rely on their honesty.
Showmatch "Wheel of misfortune"
A pro plays against regular players! Before the match he spins an *imaginary* wheel of misfortune with options like:
- ...% handicap
- use only the mouse
- use the mouse with the left hand and keyboard with the right hand
- every 5 minutes play 30 seconds blind using only game sound, hotkeys, intuition... Your opponent doesn't know the timing
- have to perform 5 squats every 3 minutes
- etc.
So, what is your "fooling around" dream tournament? (It'll be useful if you use the template "Title, Specifications,..")

Interesting. I would do an sc2 tournament of the 64 people competing in this tournament.
Title: T_T's TLCMATSC2 tournament
Specification: Group stages RO64 though RO16, single elimination BO5 until a BO7 finals.
Demand: Disqualification upon failure to trashtalk every game.
The idea: Save ESPORTS and vote for The_Templar! while enjoying sc2.
Weak spot: Not as many polls, some people in the tournament don't play SC2

I think a tournament with custom maps could be really fun, I love the IMBA league videos that Husky does, wish he would do a full tournament of that.

or watch the poll very, very closely

i like op's smurf tournament idea. maybe players are only revealed once they're knocked out.
i think it would change the player's strategies a lot because they can't study or predict their opponents and might play super safe or go super cheesy... idk. interesting idea.

I just want another one of those marine splits vs baneling games. I thoroughly enjoyed that of the all stars match.

Smurf Tourney sounds good, and the knockout-reveal sounds good as well. I'm not really sold on the TL-attack-esque handicap tourney.
I want to see a gameshow-style tourney where several NA / EU pros have their own team of platinum-level noobs, which they guide to victory in teamleague-style tournaments. The pros would shadow their noobs during games, and spectators could listen in on either player.
I really don't know the specifics call it Noob Commander!
