Don't forget to submit! It's been one month since TeamLiquid announced its map making contest which gave you all the possibility of getting one of your maps onto the ladder. We've had a lot of good ideas come through the Maps subforum but not too many people submit their entries to the contest. Understandable, you all want to make your maps as perfect as possible! Just don't forget to submit your creations to the contest. When are the maps due? Mappers will have until Monday, Oct 31 2:59pm GMT (GMT+00:00) to complete their work and PM it to TL Map Contest. How does all of this work? - Specially appointed judges from the community and TeamLiquid staff will evaluate the entries and decide on the top maps. We aim to pick approximately 10 maps. This will vary depending on the quality of submissions.
- Mappers with maps which have been selected will have approximately a week (possibly less) to make final adjustments to their maps to fix any issues.
- The maps will be play tested by an invite only progamer tournament); details will be announced at a later date. Maps will also be uploaded to EU and NA for public testing.
- We will then hold a public vote and staff vote to determine the best map. Rankings from the public and staff will be combined to determine the top 5 maps.
We estimate that the contest will conclude anywhere between 3-4 weeks after submissions close.
How to Enter: Please PM your map(s) files to TL Map Contest with the following format before Monday, Oct 31 2:59pm GMT (GMT+00:00): Map Name:[.img]a picture of your map[/img] Main to Main distance:Natural to Natural distance:[.img]Any relevant anlyzer images (optional)[/img] [.url=]Your maps download link Entries not in this format may be excluded from consideration. Please don't ask 'TL Map Contest' questions - you won't get an answer. We encourage the inclusion of useful images from the SC2 map analyzer program: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=132627. These are optional but will help the judges when considering maps.

I love the ESV TV versions of Katrina and Othello. Such cool maps, I'd love to play on them in ladder.

BW maps seem to go on a different principle... Look at how crossfire has ended up playing out o.0

this is great for the map making community to get some light shed on them :D

Is it possible to announce judges once they are finalized or is that going to be too risky for attacks on the judges?

Unfortunately since they are BW remakes, we will not be submitting them.

This is the best thing ever. Need some way for new, good maps to get some exposure and possibly enter the tournament scene.
I highly approve of this. ^^

I'm so excited to see maps from this competition!

Really excited for this, I'd be down for playing on them regardless if they won.
Will you display runner-ups/participants' maps anyways?

There is no way my map will be ready in time for the deadline. I really hope blizz decides to hold another contest like this sometime in the future.

Hopefully everyone remembers to submit their map, need this to be a success, or we might not see such an initiative again.

Would die to help test these maps, put my old QA testing back to work :B
