Introduction:
Mafia is an educated guessing game of epic proportions. The objective of the game is to lynch or kill all mafia members before they outnumber the rest of the town. It's much like a game of poker because mafia members are also part of the town during the day and may manipulate the vote to their liking. If the mafia at any time outnumber or equal the townspeople, they win. The town's goal is to lynch all the members of the mafia.
The game is typically very active, so the thread will get big quickly. However, it is essential to read the thread to play the game. If you do not have the time or patience to read the whole thread, do not play. I will not compensate for ignorance.
Rules:
Cheating:
Cheating includes (but is not limited to):
1. Posting after death. You may have one polite goodbye post, but it may not contain any potentially game-changing information.
2. Ruining the game by doing something like hand out your mafia's member list to the town.
3. Logging on to someone else's account to get their role or looking over someone's shoulder to get their role.
4. Comparing role PM times to determine roles.
5. Posting screenshots of your inbox.
6. Posting any PM you receive from a host.
7. Getting yourself modkilled to help your team. Your non-majority-decided death may not be used as a bargaining chip.
8. Signing up more than once using smurf accounts.
9. Betting items outside of the game in exchange for in-game benefits.
10. Sharing accounts with other players. Only you may post on your account.
Cheating is not tolerated here. The punishment will be severe.

This is mod font. It is reserved for moderators. Please do not use it.

This is question font. Use it to ask the moderators questions about the rules. Please do us a favor and read the rules before you ask anything.
Activity:
You must post in this thread 5 times per day/night cycle and vote every day while you are alive. If you fail to do so, you will be modkilled.

Editing:
Editing is not allowed for any reason. Editing will result in a warning. After that, you will be modkilled. This is the one part of the site where it is okay to be double posting, even triple-posting. While I ask for everybody to post as concisely as possible, post again if you have to edit anything.
Inappropriate posts:
If you want to post something insulting or inappropriate and know the TL mods would have a problem with it elsewhere, don't post it here. If you do, a host will warn you or modkill you and request that you be banned from future games. The hosts have the final say on what is inappropriate. If you do not like how someone is talking to you, please PM one of the hosts before involving Anyone else. This is my game and should be dealt with within the game before moving outside of it.
Reporting posts:
The report button is a nice feature for regular TL, but not for this forum. We prefer to deal with things in house if possible to avoid confusion among the TL staff. If you have a problem with how someone is posting, talk to the host, co-host, Qatol, or Flamewheel before using your report button. Please do not use your report button for anything other than inappropriate posts which you feel are not being dealt with adequately.
Ban discussions:
Please wait until this game is over to talk about modkills and bans resulting from this game.
Play to win.
This means you play your best to help your team win while you are alive and in the game. However, this does not mean that you should try to win by being a jerk to the other players so they all want to quit playing.
This also means that you cannot leave the game without a good reason without a ban. These situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis. PM your host if you need to leave the game.

Voting rules:
1. Voting Thread. Please keep votes there, and only vote there. Do not PM me your vote.
2. Please vote in the following format: ##Vote Qatol. Votes not done in the correct fashion will not be counted. I will update vote counts whenever I get the chance.
3. No conditional voting.
4. You may vote for yourself. You may not vote for anyone dead or outside the game.
5. In the event of a tie the person with the most votes first wins (or loses).
6. Voting is mandatory. You may (NOT) abstain.
Signups:
This game is open to anyone. Signups will remain open until 30-40 players have joined.
Game-specific rules:
Modkills:
This game follows the TL Mafia Ban List. If you are modkilled, your punishment will go beyond being eliminated from this game. Please refer to it for questions about your punishment. If you want to use this game to sit out your ban, please PM Qatol or post in the Ban List.
Replacements
This game uses replacements. Replacements will be made in the game all game (within reason). If a player is modkilled during the designated time, then they will be replaced by a player on the replacement list.
Clues:
There are clues. Do a dance of joy.
PMs
PMs are allowed in this game.
Time Cycle:
This game will follow a (24 hour night/48 hour) day cycle. In case I am not able to post around deadline, any votes after the 48 hour mark will not count and the game will be put on halt until the night post is up. Currently the deadline is 9pm est, but that is subject to change.

Roles List
This is a semi-open setup. All roles will be disclosed, but role counts will remain hidden. Read this section carefully, as it may be subject to change. I may decide to troll you by having some roles not appearing at all in the game, but there will not be any roles that are not on this list.
Anybody with a role that has a night action must send a PM to both myself and Sandroba if he or she wishes to use said night action. The results of all night actions will be returned with the posting of the next day post.
Blackgate Criminal
As a a former guest at Blackgate prison you have found yourself recently transferred to Arkham. You have quickly broken out and are now doing jokers bidding. Your goal is to make sure everyone of the Asylums employees as well as batman meet their ends. You do this by voting moblike style.
Insane Inmate
You are a insane beyond belief. As such you killed a security guard and decided to wear his clothes. Basically, any Detective checks on you will mark you as a Arkham security guard. As you are now donned in the security guards uniform, you subject other inmates to the same punishments the guards gave to you. You want them to lock everyone back up. You win with the security guards.
Blackgate Sniper
You are the man with a sight. Joker armed you with a real tool, the ability to see the gotham police, batman and anything else scurrying in the night from the safety of your perch. You are able to zoom so close you can tell everything about the person. Every night, you can check a player to find their alignment/ role and role description.
Scarecrow, Mr.Freeze, Killer Moth
You are a medic! Depending on who you are you will have different flavour text, hurrah!
Zsasz, Calendar Man, Harley Quinn, Firefly,
You are a vig!. If your kill overlaps with that of another player , the first hit sent in will take precedence and your hit will be returned. Flavour text depends on which person you are.
The Black Mask, Poison Ivy
You are a mad hatter! You may place and detonate (by suicide) in the same night. If whomever you have bombed is modkilled or killed during the night, then you get your bomb back. If you are lynched or killed by Mafia your bomb will blow up, but not if you are modkilled. Same as other roles, depending on who you are your flavour text will be different.
Bane, Killer Croc
You are a vet! Each has an extra night life. They are also both so strong that if they go two nights in a row without being hit after being hit they gain their life back. Getting lynched kills you even if you have not spent your extra night life yet.
Arkham Staff
Arkham Security
You are one of the few surviving members of Arkham. You have also been brave enough not not just lock yourself in one single room. As such you have banded together with a few surviving members, Aaron Cash and Quincy Sharp.
Quincy Sharp
You are Quincy Sharp. You are the warden of the Asylum but you are also a very well known coward. You may lead the security forces but you are no stranger to having to hide. As such you can dress yourself up to appear as any single role in the game. But that is not complete. Once you have donned the clothing you must make a story for yourself. Ie create your role flavour text. If you fail to submit to the host what you would like to appear as you will instead appear Blackgate Criminal.
Aaron Cash
You are the meaniest and toughest of all the arkham staff. All the prisoners have learned to fear your abilities. As such at night you can stalk a player and beat them into unconsciousness. If the player you knock out had an ability he or she can no longer use it. If you target Ivy or the black mask you will prevent them from suiciding and placing their killer tools. However if they are killed by someone else sadly anything already placed will still go boom. You also are unable to take down the extra lives of croc or bane.
Individuals
Joker
The ace of Knaves, the clown of crime. You are the sick son of a bitch who started this entire massacre. After letting everyone loose however you opted to have fun on your own. Every night some sorry person will stumble across your path and die for the lack of respect. Being as insane as you are however, you set up the situation that made said victim stumble into your way. Sadly croc and bane won't die, just get very angry at you. Also, you are able to survive all night hits except of those of batman. The caped crusader can take you out in one hit at night. You win by being the last clown standing. Since the joker is mad starking insane no one would ever believe him if he claimed who he was. He may never claim who he is in thread or privately. As such you are good at fooling people, so you can appear to be any role you wish!
The Batman
You are the masked vigilante. You have come to arkham to put everything back in order. First order of business is tracking down the joker and putting him back in his cell. You have the ability to hit 1 person a night. Being the stealthy man you are, your hit goes through all protections except those of croc and bane. You are also a master of stealth and are immune to all night hits. You win by returning the joker to his cell. Batman can also opt to use his detective powers instead of beating someone down at night, revealing their role to him. However, do to batmans solitary nature he may never reveal the findings of his investigations publically, nor may he ever claim his role in thread. As such you are good at fooling people, so you can appear to be any role you wish!
Both batman and the joker have the ability to once a game remove all clues from a day post before the post is posted. This cannot be done back to back days (so batman cant do it right after joker, nor can joker do it to the bats).
Ra’as Al Ghul
A criminal mastermind who learned of the jokers intentions to set the asylum into chaos. He knew that doing so would bring batman into the fray and as such faked his death to make sure his body was moved their for further study. Upon entering the grounds, he simply vanished. Using his extreme intellect and strength Ra’as intends on eliminating the batman once and for all. As such he will escape the asylum the moment batman is defeated. Ra’as has the ability to survive all forms of killings except a lynch, and is able to hit 1 player of his choice every night. Ra’as is unable to kill the joker, but due to his several encounters with the batman has no issue smiting him. Ra’as may never claim his role in thread or pms. As such you are good at fooling people, so you can appear to be any role you wish!
Note: Not all roles are guaranteed to be in this game, and all roles that are blue All have their own flavour text that will appear differently based on who they are. This is for the roles that do not appear normally to detective checks. Those roles are Quincy Sharp, Joker, Batman, Ra’as Al Ghul. They will be creating the flavour text surrounding their own role as this will be the only way to ever “catch them” in regards to their role.
For the roles of vig/vet/med/hatter. Character names/flavour text is not limited to the names provided in this post. All names provided were samples to give an idea of how my system works.
To clarify on win conditions as I have been asked multiple times.
For third party win conditions.
Joker wins by surviving until the end as traditional sk's do.
Batman wins by eliminating the Joker
Ra'as wins by eliminating Batman.
Mafia win by clearing out the town / outnumbering them as well as defeating the joker.
Town wins by clearing out the mafia / defeating the joker.
Green townies should keep special note of these win conditions as they play.

Looks crazy. is the insane inmate a miller or third party, and is he informed of his role and win condition? For all intents and purposes he looks like a goon that doesn't count when tallying mafia kp.
