Requirements:
.NET Framework 2.0 or Greater (Windows 7 has this installed by default) - Download
- Not sure which Windows operating systems are fully supported.
- Not sure which OS Languages are fully supported.
Description:
This program is a SC2 Launcher that will check if there is a new patch available and prompt you to ask if you would like to launch SC2 or exit. If there is no patch/update it will launch SC2 normally. It is meant to be run instead of the default Starcraft II shortcut. The program does not modify any SC2 files and launches SC2 like the shortcut normally would after it checks for a patch.
Uses:
This is mainly useful if you are using GSC SC2 Relocalizer and you want to run Clean Install before a new patch is installed. The last few patches I forgot to run Clean Install so I figured it would be useful to get a reminder instead of having to reinstall SC2.
Instructions: (Pictures included in Download)
- Copy the SC2Launcher.exe into a directory where you will store it. It can be put anywhere on your PC but I think it's good to put it in the SC2 folder to keep track of it. See step1.png
- Next we need to create a shortcut to SC2Launcher.exe so we can launch it from the Desktop and add a command line argument in later step. See step2.png
- After you make the shortcut move it to your Desktop and then right click the icon and left click Properties. See step3.png
- You'll see after it says "Target:" is the path to SC2Launcher.exe, e.g. "F:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\SC2Launcher.exe" Ok now as you can see in step4.png you will need to put the language name 1 space after the last quotation. If you are using GSCRelocalizer you should be familiar with these.
- After your shortcut looks like step4.png with your region then you are ready to go! Just use this shortcut to run SC2 and it will either launch SC2 automatically or will prompt you when it detects a new patch. See prompt.png
Notes:
- The language you select is what region it will check for patch/updates. I am not sure how the region linking has effected this list. Stick with the main region languages for now like enUS (NA/LA), enGB(EU)
- There is a few second delay before starting depending on how slow it takes to download the information from blizzard servers.
Language List:
enUS
esMX
ptBR
enGB
frFR
deDE
esES
plPL
ruRU
itIT
koKR
