good game. There are two close expos that seem important to get early.
Human teleportation, molecular decimation, breakdown and reformation is inherently purging. It makes a man acute.

Grot played standard, Rekrul played cute

Rekrul's attack management is interesting to watch. Maybe I only notice it in his replays, but i find that he has this trademark 'zealots running through gaps in the goon line" when he attacks

Grot, why didn't you just "cliff" rek's minerals (from lower ground) at his gas expo instead of plowing through the pylon wall? That "cliff" could help you set up a push to main too..Another point where you couuld really do some damage was with a 5 vulture run in late in the game into rek's gas nat again.. you should have focused on the cannon right away; rek's forces were very far. I know its easy to make suggestions for an observer

if you wanted me to use starports i am very bad with dropships and i don't like them on a map with no islands and low cliff importance and even on a map with higher cliff importance and islands like LT i still don't like them very much, and rekrul has very good control over the game and would very likely stop it and my macro would be slower and my units would be fewer

i should have probably attacked in the way you said but i had no scanner to reveal elevated terrain and I most definetly don't have the planning/timing it would have required to send a floating building there pre-emptively


and about that vulture raid.. I think you need to play terran vs rekrul to understand what it feels like better. The protosses I practice with are infinitely less good.. For a player of my skill level it feels like he always knows where you are going and is always waiting for you there and always has ridiculously way more guys than you expected.. when i saw that i had the opportunity to attack his probes i was already surprised, i most definetly didn't expect to get even more time, and i couldn't have known how long it would take him to get there. I'd make the same choice and attack the probes in that situation.

i agree with you that playing original is an advantage, that's why I root for and idolize the player who invented his own unique style of play and that's why i started practicing his tvp style in the first place (i'm still one of the only foreign players who does it all the time, actually i'm the only one that I know of)


i made way too much supply depots (as usual) and i made a whole bunch of other mistakes but yeah, i'm just not an awesome player, i'll definetly start practicing building the right amount of depots though

i think i could have done more damage early with my goons, other than that i played pretty good and so did grot

his problem is that his attack timing is a little off from practicing vs newbies who have less units, thats all

i really liked grots mine placement and rekruls unit management in this rep, i always thought grot would win a battle, but then suddenly there were like 8 zeals surrounding his tanks and then all his units seemed to die instantly

it was over. rek was massing faster and from more bases.

grots gas expo was utterly destroyed by two DTs. I really dont understand why you didnt kill those 2 gateways earlier (with just 3-4 vults). You must have know they were there and it could have been a large blow if you had killed them as you hit his main or right before or after that. He had no gates in his main for a moment.

good play by grot for holding his own against rek.

i think he could have taken the game. it was frustrating to watch cuz at many times his mins would go over one thousand which cost him several battles. also, he couldve killed the nexus at expo but didnt opting to seige out of range in no mans land T.T
