Hi Everyone
Just wanted to say I launched a mobile app for SC2Ranks for Android. It should now be available on the Android Market.
I'll be taking feedback (in the form of suggestions, bugs, insults, etc.) in this thread.
Special thanks to Shadowed for his great site and Mobile API. Here's the original SC2Ranks thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=141629

EDIT:
I'm an Android developer. I don't know anything about iPhone and I don't have the necessary equipment to make an iPhone version. Sorry guys
If somebody wants to take up the challenge, they have to contact Shadowed and talk to him about it.

You are awesome! I have wanted this for a while now and nearly undertook the effort myself. Any chance of getting the charts from the site into the app? that would be a nice touch.
|
I don't think I will be able to unfortunately. I would have loved to have that, but I don't see it as being possible. If I find a way I will.
|
Is there an apple app store one
|
Anyway this will ever make its way on to the iPhone?
|
I'm an Android guy unfortunately
I won't be able to make an iPhone one. Maybe somebody else can take up the challenge.
|
Can you tell me what its exactly called? I can't seem to find it atm :/
Edit: Found it :D

out of curiosity, is it easy for noobs to program apps for android and what do you need to program apps?
|
Woot, thanks for this
|
Do you have a barcode scanner? If so, you can scan that image and it'll take you directly there.
Run a search for Sc2ranks on the Android Market and you should find it.

I haven't been able to find someone who wanted to make an iPhone app for the fun of it like RageKage, majority of people who contacted me on it we're looking at it as a 'get rich quick' kind of deal.
Looks good!

It is pretty easy to get up and running. Do you have any programming experience? The Android SDK is in Java. If you don't know Java, I'd recommend learning the basics before getting started. There's a good deal of support online in the form of forums (esp. stackoverflow), so you just need some patience and a willingness to learn.
You'll need Eclipse IDE and the Android SDK to start. You can google those and find them. You can also find good instructions on setting everything up online (it is pretty easy). It's all free unless you want to upload to the Android Market, then you just need to pay a one time fee of $25 to make a Developer Account.

Some of the images are off for me. It looks like you used an image map and the coordinates are wrong. You get like half of the picture merged with another picture. (Droid X btw).

There are lots of good guides. Just search for "Java Beginner's Tutorial" or something like that.
