Our first few TL Opens were very successful events and we feel we're ready to host them more consistently. The guys that run TeamSpeak were already huge fans of Starcraft -- TLAF-Liquid's Ret in particular, so it was an easy decision for both of us to work together. TeamSpeak will also be providing us a dedicated server for TL users to chat together while watching events or playing Starcraft 2, so look out for that in the near future.
This is our first long-term sponsorship for TL Open so I hope the TL community supports TeamSpeak by taking the time to try out their program. We're all part of the same community and this partnership would not be possible if they weren't gamers at heart already.
Here are a few words from TeamSpeak's Peter Kirk:
Greetings TeamLiquid Community,
TeamSpeak has always been a "from gamers for gamers" type of company - in fact back in 2000 the very first version (TeamSpeak 1) was actually made because the available tools out there were not satisfactory so we made a program for our clans internal use. Today, 10+ years later we are still all passionate gamers, playing all kinds of games. Myself I have been playing StarCraft in a clan since a few years (first Broodwar and now StarCraft 2).
Naturally getting to know TeamLiquid is unavoidable as a StarCraft player, and we are happy to be able to give this great community something back by sponsoring these upcoming TeamLiquid Opens. Any of you out there that do not know TeamSpeak 3 yet should really give it a try. In my clan we use it as the main tool to connect the players. Hope to get to know some of you on the new TeamLiquid TS3 Public Server![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif)
Looking forward to some epic games!
