LiveForever: “It worries me that my Ro16 opponent is Protoss.”

Q: How do you feel about advancing to Ro16?
A: I’m very happy. I honestly thought I wouldn’t be able to do it. I saw HolyCheck’s games and he played exactly the same way as he did today. His used the same two build orders.

Q: You lost your Medivac in game 1 and lost the control of the air, which made you become dragged by your opponent.
A: My style is such that I don’t care too much about the air. I don’t use a lot of Vikings and I tend to use a lot of ground army, so I never thought that I was being dragged or that I was at a disadvantage.

Q: You used drops in game 2 aggressively.
A: The rush distance was short so I was aggressive. I was initially going to defend because I predicted that my opponent will try to drop on me, but he used Ravens so I chose to attack instead.

Q: I heard you like TvT the most.
A: They told me to write my favorite matchup. It’s honestly not that fun. I used to like TvP but I haven’t won against a Protoss recently so it became less enjoyable.

Q: How did you practice for your game today?
A: I didn’t have time and they didn’t tell us the maps until later so I lacked practice time. I practiced on ladder over the weekend.

Q: Do you feel greedier now that you’ve advanced to Ro16?
A: I honestly do feel greedier due to the prize pool, but I don’t know if I can go further because studying takes up the time I need for practice. I don’t think I’ll be too disappointed if I lose.

Q: You’re playing against Lotze in Ro16
A: I thought Idra would advance but he must be really good. I didn’t want to face a Protoss so it worries me. I practiced TvZ while preparing for Ro64 but since it’s TvP, I’ll have to practice harder.

LegalMind: “Since I came this far, I want to win one more time”





Q: How do you feel about advancing to Ro16?
A: I didn’t really expect a lot this time either, so it feels rushed. It’s because I’ve been attending prep schools and I lack practice time.

Q: You lost the first game due to your opponent’s harassment.
A: I was supposed to be on the 4th set but because the order suddenly changed, my mouse sensitivity wasn’t set properly. I couldn’t control my units very well and the damage became huge.

Q: You used 4 Warp Gate rush properly in game 2. Did you prepare it?
A: I was originally going to set up my natural, but my opponent was planning to expand after getting fast gas and Marauders. I knew 4 Warp Gates would work.

Q: In game 3, you started off with a disadvantage.
A: I was really behind even from early game. My opponent found about my Colossus too late. The time I made to produce Colossus really helped a lot, and the fact that he made Tanks instead of Vikings made it an easy win for me.

Q: You won because of Colossus. People say that they should be nerfed.
A: I have won a lot thanks to Colossus. However, they’re strong only when my opponent doesn’t know about them. If the opponent doesn’t know about Colossus, then they will make Medivacs but if they realize it early and make Vikings, they’re easily defendable.

Q: You could make your goal bigger.
A: Since I advanced this far, I want to win one more time. I know both the players in the next set, so I want to win one more time regardless of who advances.

Q: You’re not in a team yet so is it hard to practice? What do you think about joining one?
A: I have to request other clan members for practice so about an hour is wasted every time I practice just for requesting games. However, I’m not planning to join a team yet and I’m just enjoying the game.

MaKa: “I feel like I’m a step closer to victory”




Q: How do you feel about advancing to Ro16?
A: I played without too many thoughts so I don’t feel anything special. It’s just fun playing games in the booth. I enjoy playing in the league and having it impact my mentality.

Q: In game 1, your Reaper rush was effective but you were at a disadvantage when your push was blocked.
A: I was going to drop with Medivacs and then back off, but it failed because Zerglings were too fast.

Q: What was the reason for the comeback in game 1?
A: When I was getting pushed by my opponent, my resources were over 3000. I build more buildings and my drops were successful. I knew I had came back when I won the battle in the center.

Q: You won game 2 easily with 5 Barracks Reapers.
A: I used a strategy that I always enjoy using. There are a lot of ways to go 5 Barracks. There are a lot of ways to choose builds after 3 Barracks and I think Reapers must be used against Zerg. I was confident with Reaper micro so I chose this build order.

Q: Both Junwi and Idra, who you considered would be hardest to face, dropped out of the tournament.
A: I’m very happy (laughs). It feels like I’m a step closer to victory.

Q: You’re facing LegalMind in Ro16. How do you feel?
A: He played against one of my teammates in Ro32, but I wanted LegalMind to advance because I don’t like TvT. I think the games will depend a lot on the map. I think he will try to play very standard instead of being aggressive and I think I will have to block his push and aim for a late game victory.

Q: You seemed worn out throughout the interview.
A: Getting interviewed is tiring (laughs). I don’t like taking pictures… but I still want to be interviewed 4 more times.

Q: You said you had to overcome your TvZ weakness, but how do you feel now?
A: I think my TvZ win rate is about 50% now. It’s thanks to Cool and Check. I’m worried because I heard Terran is getting nerfed.
