Honestly I felt a little pissed off just reading the ban list, and I don't think mahnini's enjoying it either :/ ive always thought it would be similar to the sweet feeling you get if youve ever punched someone in the face and ruined their shit in self defense or some other justified reason. Stream chat is nothing like posting on a forum and the two are not directly correlated. I agree with gerundium, I'm 1000% different online in SC2 or on streams just having fun, but in TL I behave the way I do in real-life which is pretty nice. You should just always act the way you are, on whatever medium, wherever you are, and whenever. truth Imagine if Ricky Gervais accepted his invitation to the Queen's feast at Buckingham Palace and acted the way he is. Just reminded me of that podcast for whatever reason. There's a time and place for everything, and eh, haven't seen any ban due to incidents outside of TL that didn't seem justified. There are situations where you need to behave better than you normally would in social settings. There are no situations where it is acceptable to behave worse than you normally would. You wouldn't act like a douchebag on a daily basis. Why do it online? And if you acted like a douchebag on a daily basis then you are not the type of person that TL would want as part of their community.

Harassing someone on SC2 is a fine ban, but saying xyz player is crap/unskilled/etc. in a stream chat should not be (guilty as charged!). I think the line should generally be drawn at personal attacks.

I've always been of the opinion that on an internet forum, there is no actual lines to be crossed for a mod as far as ban reasons go. If they wake up in the morning and decide to ban you because it's Tuesday and your name begins with a Q, so be it. Similarly, If a mod doesn't like something you're doing in a stream chat only vaguely related to Teamliquid, it's still well within their right to lay out a banhammer.

I don't understand how someone with 2k+ posts manages to get banned. They've been on tl.net for long enough to know what's going to get them banned. Makes no sense.

Really? It happens often i guess... Some people just go mad i suppose, and just can't handle it after a certain point.
