I doubt it. It's not a problem with not enough reporting, but the community growing. Even if more than half TL members had the power to report, these type of posts would still happen. If you gain 1000 people every month (I'm just pulling this out of my ass, so don't quote the number please) there's bound to be a few idiots in there. Nobody is really at fault here, you can't stop them before they hit that "Post" button. All we can do is set good examples for future reference and try to reform the bad ones. But ultimately, there's no cure for stupidity.

What does that prove? That she went along with it for 8 months before making that blog post is all. Because Peter first insulted her twenty days ago. lol...this shouldn't need to be explained. How do you know Peter first insulted her 20 days ago? Furthermore, how do you know that she didn't come across him 8+ months ago and scheme this up then? How do you know my TL account isn't another one of her alter egos, and she's not the one banning you right now for derailing that thread with what would appear to any rational bystander a beyond-moronic conspiracy theory? Basically we run a mentoring program where guys from teamliquid accept trial invites from the existing players and get game money and help in exchange for the existing members getting free game time if the trials subscribe. Thornton didn't want to pay for his game time so he abused the program to get a tl member to pay so he got his free game time then refused to help. My standing policy is to not care what anyone does outside tl but in this case he used his tl membership to be trusted to mentor a new guy and the trust tl members placed in me (I run the program) to have someone fall for it. He got monetary gain at the cost of a fellow tl member through abusing that trust and as such I felt a community ban (precedent here http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=137355) applied. It didn't hurt that he's a terrible, terrible poster.
On a broadly related note, I fully reimbursed the guy he scammed at my own cost (I'm game rich). The program remains legitimate and I continue to put my name (and therefore whatever tl legitimacy that brings) behind it.

This just made me laugh. Harsh ban message.
I checked his post... it was pretty stupid but not sure if that perm + message was justified. Let's face it, a lot of people are pretty vocal about the player selection for NASL so far (mostly about koreans and 1 group being pretty stacked) and EG's close involvement is undeniable... he just worded it pretty badly. Incontrol is good enough to be selected for sure but pretty borderline in terms of skill to be honest from what I've seen from him; a lot of great players applied.
I think it deserved a stupidity ban still but that was harsh.

Kurr, no mod here is the type of guy to call someone a "complete piece of shit" based on whatever post you read in the NASL thread. As I'm sure ETT would explain, AnotherEon has a long and disgusting history here. Like, I've seen some nasty rap sheets but his might take the cake.
I think it's fair to say that any time you see a harsh ban, you can assume there's much much more to it than a single bad post.

Alright, I suppose that makes sense. I just looked at a few posts so I don't know much about the poster.

I have a question, is it possible that a streamer could get banned for something he said on his stream, when it is a featured/ or even non-featured stream, but on TL?
Has this ever happened before? I can only think of a few possible reasons why someone would be deserving of a ban/temp because of what he may say/do while streaming on TL and i want to know if this has already occurred.
EDIT:

better question: why are you posting? as someone with almost 3K posts you should know way better than this
your ban/warning history is starting to get pretty disgusting.

TL instituted a policy to disable re-streams of GSL, I'm unsure if this would result in a ban as well or just a warning (probably would depend on circumstances and other factors), presumably this would be the same for other paid-streams (MLG HD, etc.) + Show Spoiler +On November 30 2010 21:36 Hot_Bid wrote: You can have your ustream / livestream or other accounts disabled if you continue restreaming. As a courtesy to GOM we're disabling restreams.
Somewhat blatant BM, on stream, against TL/staff resulted in a ban in the BigT (He was on probation from recently being banned and unbanned, so he was somewhat on thin ice, which most likely contributed).
I'm unaware of any other specific events in recent TL history, but there are could be other situations (combat-ex related perhaps).
Edit: Oh, actually, a month or two ago two streamers (Destiny and...someone else) got into a flame-war that spread into TL, both were banned (thereafter the ban{s} were reduced, I think one/both apologized).

Yeah, I remember Mani banning someone who came on a BW stream to troll. Funny thing is he wasn't even a streamer, just some random guy. But you don't fuck with BW while Mani is around.
