Did no one tell him about the subforum?

I got a few questions:
1) How did Physician Ragnar Birko get his star?
2) Has there ever been anyone in TL history who was offered a position on the staff, but turned the offer down? If so, what reason was given for the declination?
3) How big a party are you planning to throw once the TSL is over? Specifically, how much alcohol will each staff member imbibe?

Well, take all the alcohol consumed during SOTG episode 24, multiply that by the number of ALLCAPS posts about the White-Ra vs MC game coming up in the Ro16, and divide by the total number of staff members. That will give you approx how much alcohol will be served.

I know you've been asked not to allow restreamers, but consider allowing it for non-featured streams - they are loosing viewers big time. I'm not TL staff but the answer is I think fairly simple : because it's illegal. So if the owner of the copyright comes and says "don't allow restream", teamliquid remove the stream, because it's illegal. So yeah they could say "fuck that, we're so hardcore ! We don't care about GOMTV", but I don't think they want to fight against one of the most important actor of SC2, that would be bad for esports and sc2 which is not the goal of TL i think.
Then we come down to what's profitable and what's functional. Sure it's illegal for the streamer, but it's not illegal to show where people are streaming illegal stuff + it would be beneficial for soooo many people, spreading the esports knowledge and love.

No one is arguing that it wouldn't be beneficial to be able to provide re-stream but the fact of the matter is, it's illegal to do so. It's illegal for TL to hold re-streams AND show where people are streaming it. If TL showed where people are streaming it then it would mean they support re-streams and it defeats the purpose yes? To me, re-stream is like shooting someone, and then providing where the re-streams are is like giving that guy the gun to do the shooting, both is wrong.

Maybe in Denmark it isn't illegal, but that is an open question in the US. Or at least one that hasn't been fully hashed out in the courts yet. TL.net has no reason to open themselves up to potential liability, especially when they have been requested to not allow such streams by the content holders themselves. I don't think there is much of a chance for this at all.

2. I did, but it didn't work. And I'm not the only one. You don't say no to Manifesto7, unless you want to wake up next to a severed pony head.
3. It'll be huge. So big we'll have to plan it for at least a few months. But we should probably finalize plans for the TSL1 party first.

Why can't we respond to the really shitty threads with image macros? It takes more thought and effort to find the appropriate one and post it than the thought and effort put into a lot of threads.

Not to mention, that Artosis and Tasteless (MyLostTemple on TL) are both TeamLiquid members and respected members of the community. If we re-stream GOMTV's streams, not only will GOM lose money, but as would Tasteless & Artosis. Plus it would look bad in the eyes of the professional world and it would be hard to take us seriously if we act like rebelling 15 year old kids. Plus $10 is really cheap. If you want to watch the VODs then I'm sure you can ask for mommy or daddy's credit card, or use your allowance money.
If you REALLY want to be a rebel you can just stay up late and sleep in school because you want to watch it live like what I did when I was in high school (for the OSL,MSL & Proleague).
And the community isn't even that poor as we have paid for Tasteless to fly to WCG to commentate before http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=58683 and http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=59201

Or you could be Australian and only lose sleep when the TSL is on since the GSL starts at 8pm here :D

You shouldn't be posting in crappy threads at all. Simply ignore them and/or hit the report button in hopes that they either get closed very quickly (very likely), or wait until the thread drowns below other threads and until the OP undoubtedly gets temp banned 1 hour later for bumping his crappy thread.
In general when you post you should do it from a perspective of strictly contributing something meaningful to the discussion or the community in general. If the topic is crappy, there's nothing worthwile to be contributed and as such you shouldn't post just to raise your post count.

To any staff that cares to answer:
What would you say is the biggest difference between a high-quality (possibly featured) and a low-quality run-of-the-mill SC2 stream? What is some general advice you would give to a caster or streamer looking to improve the quality of their content?
Thanks.

Hey I was wondering if you guys will ever add a delete your own post feature? I come across several instances where I post something and someone else posts it right before me. I know I can edit but then I just have a random stupid post sitting there saying nothing. I think people should be able to delete their own posts.
I recall posting in a thread recently. Wasn't a very popular one, but it was about the world championships and I had to just change my post to <3 HuK. Now as much as HuK is awesome, I would rather not have this random post that contributes nothing to the thread there.

Thanks. The easiest thing right off the bat is how you handle yourself. That includes viewer involvement, stuff to improve the community like rep packs, explanations, coaching, etc. and simply being a good person. Skill is obviously important, but I try to reward the good guys first.
As far as playing goes, the big characteristic I look for is mechanics.
If you're a caster, it's a bit more tricky because you can always attach yourself to calender events which puts you above the Featured streams. For casters, it's about good casting, longevity and consistency. If you can do something else to benefit the community too, that's always appreciated too.
