I know you've been asked not to allow restreamers, but consider allowing it for non-featured streams - they are loosing viewers big time. I'm not TL staff but the answer is I think fairly simple : because it's illegal. So if the owner of the copyright comes and says "don't allow restream", teamliquid remove the stream, because it's illegal. So yeah they could say "fuck that, we're so hardcore ! We don't care about GOMTV", but I don't think they want to fight against one of the most important actor of SC2, that would be bad for esports and sc2 which is not the goal of TL i think. Then we come down to what's profitable and what's functional. Sure it's illegal for the streamer, but it's not illegal to show where people are streaming illegal stuff + it would be beneficial for soooo many people, spreading the esports knowledge and love. Not to mention, that Artosis and Tasteless (MyLostTemple on TL) are both TeamLiquid members and respected members of the community. If we re-stream GOMTV's streams, not only will GOM lose money, but as would Tasteless & Artosis. Plus it would look bad in the eyes of the professional world and it would be hard to take us seriously if we act like rebelling 15 year old kids. Plus $10 is really cheap. If you want to watch the VODs then I'm sure you can ask for mommy or daddy's credit card, or use your allowance money. If you REALLY want to be a rebel you can just stay up late and sleep in school because you want to watch it live like what I did when I was in high school (for the OSL,MSL & Proleague). And the community isn't even that poor as we have paid for Tasteless to fly to WCG to commentate before http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=58683 and http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=59201
Problem is, I wont support a company which can't make a proper piece of software - ever.

Well then you must have serious problems with Apple, Microsoft (for Internet Explorer and Vista), Blizzard (who decided to skip on chat channels for 9 months) and basically any other software company that has made a mistake before.
Its copywrighted material, why would you condone restreaming? Surely its not hard to pay $10 to watch it whenever you want?
EDIT: to un-derail Q: To any staff members, what is your favourite movie? (or a list of a few movies that contend for the title)

Why do people do the things they do?
more reasonable question: Pretty sure it doesn't need to be asked. But for fun is Carnac the creator of the wonderful Carnac's Maul for warcraft 3.

A few questions, possibly been answered, but I'm not all the way through reading this.
1. What's the most posts someone has every had before a warning/temp ban? (I just got my first, was really trying to never get one. You get lazy when you're tired )
2. Who has the most posts here on TL, out of all users?
I can probably search for #2.

I recently found out that Kennigit has only ever received a warning once which is pretty gosu..

well myself and jinro were given non-serious warnings from other staff as a joke so i guess that doesn't count towards 'most posts before a warning'?

I'm 99% certain Jinro said he was temp banned (when he was frozenarbiter) before.

You are 100% wrong.

Hey, sorry if this has already been posted relatively recently, but about how many hits a day does TL get? And is there a count of how many members exist?
(I'm trying to write a college research paper on competitive Starcraft, TL stats would be valuable ^^)

Has there ever been a mod/banling that has been demoted for bad conduct or something similar? Is day[9]'s mother the only account to get a star with <20 posts (or so).. (the reference is in a thread I can't find where Day[9]'s mother signed up to TL.net and posted so someone could tell Shaun/Nick some stuff while they were at a tournament)

Around 150k-200k unique hits per day.
As of me posting this, there are 164888 accounts registered on TL.

(I'm trying to write a college research paper on competitive Starcraft, TL stats would be valuable ^^) If you are serious about research (good at it too?), i suggest reading the threads through and through (200 pages "pillar" threads take no more than 1/2 hours to read decently, however, that's just like finding the treasure map, not the treasure itself.. finding the treasures/rewards takes more like a year or two)
Best links are hidden in a sea of posts... (feel the american lawyers' influence in tl shaping method?)
i'd also suggest reading all the ops with more than 20000 hits...
tl is a rare example of a "working" forum (well several actually, just disregard the strategy forums, you'll get enough data about it from tlbot and its cousin ) and although the statistics have radically changed "recently" (as in "since sc2 came out"), the data is ready to speak volumes... about sociology, psychology, also art and crafts... politics, religion, ethics, dreams, love, anger, mash potatoes... you name it it's there...
i for one, sure am curious to know what data you would choose to use
