It's actually ridiculous. They make up these insane stories when you can just open their mod notes and it links directly to the post they are banned for. Why would you lie about this? It's completely insane.

My rule now to making threads is if you're not opening up an external text editor to make the thread you're probably not trying hard enough or the topic isn't good enough for a thread. That's actually a pretty good rule. Here, have a ban for that.

yes, I've already replied again a few posts above you in which I've stated that my memory was totally off.
@chill I wasn't lying. That's how it was in my memory. As I said I'm probably thinking about another ban and connected those two in some way (I also overlooked the fact that it was 2 days, not 2 weeks when I checked my PMs [they're still all there]).

Yeah, my bad - I didn't see someone else had called you out and you had already replied when I constructed my reply. I was reading through the thread and always get interested when someone says "My ban wasn't fair because of XYZ..." because it's almost ALWAYS wrong and they get facts/details incorrect. Like in this case you were 'very upset' over it being two weeks and look.
But my specific comment wasn't just directed at you individually, I've noticed a LOT of people feel anger/frustration and they're SO FAR OFF BASE it's just ridiculous, and you wonder if they're a capable, functioning human being. Just take a look at the past couple pages or so here to see what I mean. In many cases, people don't even understand why an action was taken against them, but we've made it clear as day:

Man I was reading my old old old posts where I was a polarizing figure, mostly raging without using punctuations and frankly spelling anything correctly, some reason I felt quite sentimental to that rage era, almost feel like going back to that.

Actually, when I first saw that post, I thought a warning was appropriate. Low post count user, probably doesn't 'know the ropes', and we'd get as much mileage out of a warning than we would a ban TBH. In most cases, a warning is absolutely appropriate if it's the first offense.
In this case, this particular user has been warned about this exact same behavior before. I'm going to issue a ban. Thanks!

Personally, and I know this is true for nearly everyone else on the moderation team as well, we typically assess the type of corrective action that is going to be taken based on a few factors:
1) A person's tenure, and prior contributions, 2) Past corrective action, including how recent as well as how relevant to the current infraction, 3) The severity of the current infraction 4) A person's posting history (ie, is this a trend, or a one-off from a normally good poster?) 5) The current flow of the thread, what caused them to act a certain way, etc.
All the while trying to make sure we're being fair and objective and not personally sucked in. Do we follow this 100% to the T? No, but we're pretty damn accurate with it, and mistakes are quickly pointed out and corrected. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better moderation team on the internet.

Now i imagine chill has a corkboard with like I win on one side then they loose on the other side. And puts up a when he wins and the name of the person on the otherside.

ETT I am still very sad you never responded to my PM like 9 months ago about getting banned
Also why isn't there a show all posts feature of the automated ban list? That was useful for CTRL + Fing all my bans and laughing at the stupidity.
